Who Is The Messiah's Bride? Part 2
Who is the Messiah’s Bride?
And Who Are The Servants?

Part 1 Preview: This really should not be an issue. It should be readily apparent who she is—yet few people know! You have probably been taught that the marriage supper is between the Messiah and His Assembly (or Church*). Could Revelation 21 simply be elaborating on the same marriage that was prophesied about by the prophets of old? Are there two marriages? Is there a connection between this jubilant time and the restoration of Israel?
While it may seem strange, I believe that it is more advantageous to introduce the “servants” before introducing the bride into this chapter!
I have heard people teach about the Bridegroom, the Bride, the Ten Virgins awaiting the wedding (Matthew 25, Revelation 21-22), those invited to the wedding, and even the guests who were brought in off of the streets for the wedding (Matthew 22), all of my life, but I have never heard of anyone really crediting the SERVANTS who make the wedding and the wedding supper possible, with even an honorable mention. The SERVANTS are always in the background, seldom if ever really noticed. Yet when the relevant accounts are read, and we will, we even see that the bride is half asleep. There is a shameful list of prospective guests who refuse to attend, some even murdering the SERVANTS who invite them. There are other guests being replaced with people, seemingly at random. This is no ordinary wedding!
So Who Are The Servants At The Wedding Supper?
Matthew 22:1-10 Once again, Yeshua spoke in analogies, He said, 2 “The Kingdom of the Heavens can be compared to a king who prepared a wedding feast for his son. 3 He sent his SERVANTS to call those who had been invited to the feast; but they wouldnt come. 4 Then he sent more SERVANTS instructing them to tell the prospective guests, “My entertainment is prepared, my bull and my cattle are slain, and everything is prepared; come to the feast”. 5 But they showed contempt, and left, one to his farm, and another to his store; 6 The rest seized his SERVANTS, and abused them, and killed them. 7 When the king heard about it, he was furious; so he sent his military forces, and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city. 8 Then he said to his SERVANTS, ‘The feast is prepared, but those who were invited were unworthy. 9 So go to the entrances into the city; and invite to the feast everyone you find’. 10 The SERVANTS went out to the crossroads, and gathered everyone they found, both bad and good; and the wedding hall was filled with guests. 11 The king went in to see the guests, and he saw a man there who wasnt wearing wedding clothes. —The Testimony of Yeshua, Gabriel Version (GV)
So the servants inviting people to the wedding feast are prophets, teachers and martyrs.
In ancient Jewish weddings, the sources I checked say the wedding feast followed the actual wedding by a week. The bride and groom were to spend a week together before the wedding supper in a bridal chamber, before returning to the bridegroom’s father’s house.
“Mirth and gladness announced their approach to townspeople waiting in houses along the route to the bride’s house.” As soon as the moving torches were spotted, it signaled the groom’s approach, a cry went out, “The bridegroom is coming.” Upon hearing this shout, the bride would slip into her wedding dress and complete her final marriage preparations. The groom did not enter the bride’s home, the bride came out to meet him. Then the bridegroom with his bride accompanied by their wedding party returned to the bridegroom’s father’s house for the marriage ceremony.” —alwaysfollowthetruth
In the Song of Songs (Solomon) account, said to be the ultimate account of Yeshua’s wedding, we have the Shulamite bride turning away her husband in her dream state!
Song of Songs 5:2-8 I was sleeping, but I was beginning to awaken. It is the voice of my beloved who knocks; “Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled; because my head is covered with dew, and my hair with the dampness of the night”. 3 She replied I’ve taken off my robe. Indeed, must I put it on again? I’ve washed my feet, must I soil them? 4 My beloved put his hand on the door opening. My emotions were all astir for him. 5 I got up to open for my beloved. My hands dripped with myrrh, my fingers with liquid myrrh, on the handles of the lock. 6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had left; and had gone away. My thoughts went out when he spoke. I looked for him, but I didnt find him. I called him, but he didnt answer. 7 The watchmen who go about the city found me. They beat me. They bruised me. The keepers of the walls took my robe away from me. 8 I adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem, if you find my beloved, that you tell him that I am faint with love. —The Word of Elohim (WE: Gabriel Version)
This is commonly thought to represent Yeshua knocking on the door of the wedding chamber, and I would agree. Because the bride was asleep, and the Bridegroom apparently couldnt even open the door, Yeshua left His bride. By the time the bride was ready to respond to Yeshua, He had left. We need to ask where He would have gone, and why the bride was beaten up by the watchmen.
We know from the acount in Matthew 25 that all ten bridesmaids (virgins) fell asleep awaiting the surprise arrival of the bridegroom. The surprise arrival was traditional, but the sleeping with half of their lights going out certainly wasnt. By contrast Yeshua’s servants are not hirelings, in fact they are really His Friends!
John 15:14-16 You are My Friends, IF you obey every Commandment I am giving you. 15 I will no longer call you SERVANTS; because a SERVANT doesnt know what his Master is doing; but I have called you My Friends; because I have revealed everything to you that I have heard from My Father. 16 You havent selected Me, but I’ve selected you; and I’ve established you, so that you can also go and yield fruit, and so that your fruit will continue; and He will give you whatever you ask for in My Father’s name. GV
Not let’s compare Yeshua’s servants/friends to the bridesmaids. By getting a contextual running head start, we see that those who are about to be addressed are compared to servants preparing for the great event that follows the wedding! Yeshua’s servants are dressed for action, and their lamps will still be burning. This appears to be a deliberate contrast to the “ten virgins”! They are the “little flock” who are to receive a Kingdom!
Luke 12:31-35 But pursue the Kingdom of Yehovah, and all of these things will be given to you as well. 32 Dont fear little flock; because your Father delights in giving you the Kingdom. 33 Sell your property, and give charitably; make yourselves moneybags that will never wear out, and an inexhaustible treasure in Heaven; where no thief can come near, or any moth consume. 34 Your treasure is now housed in your minds! 35 Be dressed for action [awake], and keep your lamps burning. GV
Now here, continuing in the context, we come to THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. This tells you exactly who the servants/friends are!
Luke 12:36-40 Be like people who expect their master to arrive, so that when he returns from the wedding festivity [1], and he comes and knocks, they will welcome him immediately; [unlike the bride]. 37 The master’s SERVANTS will be elated when he comes, and he finds them still diligently watching for him. Assuredly, he will dress up, but have them relax, and will come to each of them and serve them! [1] 38 Whether in the second watch, or in the third, when he comes and finds them, those SERVANTS will be elated. GV
[1] gamos: “a wedding or marriage festival, a wedding banquet, a wedding feast”
This strongly suggests Yeshua’s wedding week; perhaps revealing what time of year the Wedding Supper will be. Yet the Aramaic and Greek are not definitive as to precisely when during the customary wedding week is being spoken of. This would explain why Yeshua’s dear servants could still busy making preparations for the Supper at the end of the week, I dont believe that the servants miss out on any of the main events.
This is where I believe Yeshua would go when His bride had drifted off to sleep and He couldnt open the door. He would go and hang out at His house, away from the sleepy bride.
Might it actually be better to be a servant of the Master, as He returns FROM the Wedding festivities, before the Wedding Supper, than to be the bride? Maybe ask one of these guys.

Yeshua was constantly telling parables that involved servants:
Now why was the bride in the Song of Songs beaten up by the watchmen? What do watchmen have to do with the wedding story?
To hear other people explain this wedding, the week in the wedding chamber represents the joyful stay of the bride with her groom, following a rapture and seven full years of Great Tribulation. I agree that there is a seven year period, explained in Daniel 9, and even that there is a seven year period associated with the wedding, traditionally alluded to in Genesis 29:27, but this is where I believe that the story has been twisted. Let’s revisit the account in Song of Solomon:
Song of Songs 5:7 The watchmen who go about the city found me. They beat me. They bruised me. The watchmen of the walls took my robe away from me. WE
While the bridegroom was gone, the bride was abused by the watchmen. The watchmen are supposed to be our protectors, but in some prominent places in the Bible they are wolves in sheep’s clothing!
Isaiah 56:10-11 His watchmen are blind, they are all ignorant; they are all mute dogs, they cant bark; dreaming, lying down, loving to sleep. 11 Yes, the dogs are greedy, they can never have enough; and these are shepherds who cant understand; they have all turned to their own way, all seeking money, by any extreme. WE
Jeremiah 6:17-19 I set watchmen over you, saying, “Listen to the sound of the trumpet”; but they said, “We wont listen”. 18 So hear, you nations, and know, congregation, what is among them. 19 Hear, earth; look, I will bring evil on these people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not listened to My words; and as for My Torah, they have rejected it. WE
The bride’s watchmen will cause her to enter a seven year period, punctuated by Israel’s Great Tribulation! The collective bride (the 12 end time Israelite nations) and half of the collective bridesmaids (virgins) will accompany her into the Great Tribulation, but later into the Restored Israel, and the collective foolish half of the bridesmaids wont yet be ready and will likely just go away not suffering the Tribulation destined for Israel. (Much of the rest of the world will suffer during the Day of Yehovah, immediately following the tribulation.)
Who are the foolish virgins of Matthew 25? If the rootword of foolish, musterion (not the word itself) is of any help, we see righteous people who have been deceived by a mystery religion. Could this be the Mystery Babylon of Revelation 5?
Musterion 1) hidden thing, secret, mystery 1a) generally mysteries, religious secrets, confided only to the initiated and not to ordinary mortals 1b) a hidden or secret thing, not obvious to the understanding 1c) a hidden purpose or counsel 1c1) secret will 1c1a) of men 1c1b) of God: the secret counsels which govern God in dealing with the righteous, which are hidden from ungodly and wicked men but plain to the godly 2) in rabbinic writings, it denotes the mystic or hidden sense 2a) of an OT saying 2b) of an image or form seen in a vision 2c) of a dream
Yeshua is knocking on His Bride’s door, as well as His Servants. Most of the seven Assemblies (churches) of Revelation 2-3 will also experience the Great Tribulation. Notice Laodicea’s closed door:
Revelation 3:14-20 To the Messenger of the Assembly in Laodicea, write: “The Aw-mane’, the Witness, the Faithful, the True, the Originator of Yehovah’s creation says these things: 15 ‘I know your works, that you are neither hot, or cold. I wish that you were either cold or hot. 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot or cold—I am about to vomit you from My mouth. 17 Because you say, “I am rich and affluent, and lack nothing”; not knowing that you are wretched, miserable, destitute, blind, and naked; 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold tested in the fire, so that you will actually become rich; and white clothing, so that you are clothed, and so that the shame of your nakedness wont be seen; and put eye salve on yours eyes, so that you can see. 19 Those who I love, I correct and train. So be zealous, and make amends. 20 I have been standing at the door! I am knocking; so if anyone hears My voice, and opens the door, I will come in to them, and will dine with them, and they with Me. GV
Note Philadelphia’s open door:
Revelation 3:8-11 I know your works. I have set before you an open door, that no one can shut; because you have a little strength; and you’ve kept My word, and havent denied My name! 9 I will give those of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews, and arent, but lie, I will make them come and worship before your feet; and understand that I have loved you! 10 Since you’ve guarded My truth steadfastly, I will guard you from the Hour of Trial, that will come on the entire inhabited world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11 I AM COMING QUICKLY! Hold tightly onto what you have, so that no one takes your crown. GV
There actually is a way to escape the great Tribulation for many of the servants, in of all places New Jerusalem! But some of the very servants of Yeshua will fail to be included at the wedding due to poor behavior (they wont be included in the Kingdom):
Luke 12:45-48 But if the head servant thinks to himself, ‘My master delays his coming’; and begins to strike the men and women servants, and begins to wine and dine and get drunk; 46 that servant’s master will come on a day when he is not expecting him, and at a time of day that he does not suspect, and will cut him in two; and will compensate him along with the unfaithful. 47 The servant who knew his master’s will, and didnt prepare for him according to his will, will be beaten with many stripes. 48 But the one who didnt know, yet did something deserving stripes, will be beaten with fewer stripes. Because to anyone who is given much, much is required; and to whoever much is entrusted, still more will be required of them.
All symbolism aside, the wedding appears to be Israel’s agreement to reoccupy “marry” the land of Israel—the New Israel, not just the piece of it that the Jews have now:
Isaiah 62:2-5 The nations will see Your righteousness, and every king Your splendor, and you will be called by a new name, that Yehovah will specify by name. 3 You will also be a crown of splendor in Yehovah’s hand, and a royal diadem in Elohim’s hand. 4 You will no longer be called Forsaken; nor will your land be called Desolate any more; but you will be called ‘Hephzibah’ [Literally “My delight is in her”], and your land ‘Beulah’ [Literally; to marry]; because Yehovah will delight in you, and your land will be married. 5 Just as a young man marries a virgin, your sons will marry you [the land of Israel]; and as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, that is how your Elohim will rejoice over you. WE
This special wedding celebration ends with both good and bad news. Finally guests arrive; but some dont belong:
Matthew 22:9-14 So go to the entrances into the city; and invite to the feast everyone you find’. 10 The SERVANTS went out to the crossroads, and gathered everyone they found, both bad and good; and the wedding hall was filled with guests. 11 The king went in to see the guests, and he saw a man there who wasnt wearing wedding clothes. 12 He asked him, “Friend, why did you come here without wedding clothes”? But he was speechless. 13 Then the king told his “deacons”, “Tie his hands and his feet, and throw him into the outer darkness; there will be wailing and grinding of teeth. 14 Many are invited [2822], but few are Selected”. GV
These servants will go on to become Kings and Priests in the Everlasting Kingdom, serving the bride for at least the next one thousand years!
Going a step further, the best man is also mentioned by name! He said it himself:
John 3:29 The one holding the bride’s hand is the Bridegroom; and the Bridegroom’s best man [John the Immerser], who stands by His side and listens to Him, celebrates because of the Bridegroom’s voice. This is my greatest joy! GV
No, John wont be “part of the bride”.
Who is the the Messiah’s Bride?
All of my life I have been told that we should strive to be a part of the Lamb’s Bride. After all, virtually everyone teaches that being the “Bride of Christ” is the fantastic blessing of blessings that all of God’s Saints should strive to become—an unsurpassable gift! But could God have in mind, for His true Followers, a reward that even surpasses being His bride? Could it be that all of those Bible verses that the churches say are in reference to them, actually pertain to another body of believers becoming the bride? After all, do the verses admonish the Saints to be a part of the “bride”, or are we to be a part of the very “body of Christ”—the body of the groom? If the bride proves not to be the true Assembly, then who will be married? Read on to find answers from the Bible in this all encompassing study.
There are numerous Scriptures referring to Israel’s tenuous marriage proposal, where a reluctant bride-to-be will have a swift change of heart and come dashing for her Betrothed. This marriage, pictured by the symbolism of the Jubilee, is a time when God’s “chosen people” are blessed—at the restoration of Israel. Many of the verses that the churches say pertains to them actually pertain to the twelve tribes of Israel. A prime example is the 144,000 firstfruits of Revelation chapter 14:1-5, that are defined as the twelve tribes of Israel in Revelation 7:1-12.
But let’s look at an assumption that is partially responsible for the “wife swapping” situation.
Revelation 19:7-9 Let’s rejoice and be exceedingly glad, and praise Him; because the Marriage Supper of the Lamb has come, and His fiancee has made herself ready. 8 Her compensation was to be clothed in fine linen, pure and shining; because fine linen represents the righteousness of the Saints. 9 He told me, “Write this; ‘Those who are called to the marriage feast of the Lamb are blessed’”. Then he told me, “My sayings are the true words of Yehovah”. —The Testimony of Yeshua, Gabriel Version (GV)
We see that the fine wedding linen represents “the righteousness of the Saints”. Here, if we were to look no further, is the basis for the Church/Bride theory. But who are the Saints? Traditional teachings would have you believe that Christians, or only special Christians, are the saints. Yet, if you look at the many Hebrew references to the “saints” it becomes apparent that the “Saints” are God’s people Israel, as well as “the Israel of God”, His grafted in saints. We cant base a marriage on a single reference to the word “Saints”, especially when so many other Scriptures specify exactly who is to be married. Nor do the “righteous acts” preclude the saints of old; in fact most of the references to the “righteous” are from the “old” Hebrew Scriptures, not to mention the faithful patriarchs listed in “the faith chapter”: Hebrews 11.
Look down a little further in the chapter:
Revelation 19:17-18 I saw a spirit Messenger standing engulfed within the rays of the sun; and he cried with a loud voice to all the birds that fly overhead in heaven, “Come, assemble at this great supper of Yehovah. 18 Eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains of thousands, the flesh of valiant men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, the flesh of everyone free-born and slaves, both small and great”. GV
As I mention in “I and My Father Are One”, Part 3, (that incidentally explains who the Bridegroom is), concerning this and Luke 12 below:
“This alludes to an earthly wedding—a wedding where there are wicked people present, who will be cast from the wedding into “outer darkness”! At this wedding “there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 22:13). So the Marriage Supper is the same as the separation of the sheep from the goats—Judgment Day!
“The wedding supper does not sound very appetizing either, unless you understand that at this time, the nations of Israel have just been freed from their captors. The captors are destroyed and God’s renewed relationship with His ancient bride will now resume. It’s the knight slaying the dragon and marrying the princess scenario again, leaving the dragon’s body (in this case, the Beast’s body!) for the buzzards.”
And as I mention in Jubilee 2027:
“Not only does this say that “the Church” (Greek: Assembly) will not marry, in the Kingdom, but SPECIFICALLY, it is at the very resurrection associated with the “wedding supper”, that they do not marry! You have probably always heard that this marriage supper was for Yeshua and His “Church”. Could John’s quotation of Yeshua actually have been referring to a marriage that was alluded to at a much earlier time? Might the marriage actually be the jubilant time when His saints are blessed; the time that I believe typifies what the Jubilee actually commemorates—the restoration of Israel? I believe that it is. A great many Bible verses that the churches say pertains to them actually pertain to the twelve tribes of Israel. A salient introduction to this topic is The Actual Message of Matthew 24.” [Note: Richard Fix now rejects the Bible!]
Here is another factor that, it would appear; no one has taken the time to examine. Could Yeshua marry “the body of Christ”— His own body?
1 Corinthians 12:12-27 Just as a body has many parts, and all of the many parts of the body still form a single body, so it is with the Messiah. 13 Similarly, all of us have been immersed into one body by one spirit, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free; and we were all allowed a drink into one spirit. 14 The body is not one part, but many. ... 27 Now you are the body of the Messiah; each member is one of the constituent parts of a whole. GV
We start our relationship with Yeshua as a servant, then we become friends—friends so close that figuratively we share the same body; much like Father and His Son.
For those people who believe that the bride is the “church”, here is an entire chapter that you must explain away! Is God a polygamist? Is He to marry both mortal Israel AND an immortal Assembly of Saints? Look carefully at this prophecy about the wedding of Nation of Israel.
Isaiah 54:3-15 You will spread aboard on the right hand and on the left; and your descendants will possess the nations, and inhabit the desolate cities. 4 “Dont be afraid; because you wont be ashamed or humiliated and you wont be embarrassed, because you will forget the disgrace of your youth. You wont remember the shame of your widowhood. 5 Your Makers are your HUSBANDS [yes, both are plural searchword: makers]; Yehovah of Armies is His name; and the Sacred One of Israel is your Redeemer. He will be called the Elohim of the entire earth. 6 Yehovah has called you like an abandoned wife [for 7 years] with a hurting spirit [beaten up by watchmen], even a young wife, when she is rejected”, says your Elohim. 7 “A brief moment have I’ve set you free, but with great compassion I will gather you. 8 In overflowing wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting loving kindness I will have compassion on you”, says Yehovah your Redeemer. 9 “This is like the waters of Noah to Me; because as I’ve sworn that the waters of Noah will no longer go over the earth, so have I sworn that I wont be angry with you, or rebuke you. 10 The mountains may depart, and the hills be removed; but My loving kindness wont depart from you, nor will My covenant of peace be removed”, says Yehovah who has mercy on you. 11 “You who are afflicted, and tossed by storms, and not comforted, look, I will set your stones in beautiful colors, and lay your foundations with sapphires. 12 I will make your pinnacles of rubies, and your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones. 13 All your children will be taught by Yehovah; and your children will experience great peace. 14 You will be established in righteousness. You will be far from oppression, and you wont be afraid anything because nothing terrible will come near you. 15 Look, they may gather together, but not by Me. Whoever gathers together against you will fall because of you. WE
God will remarry His bride Israel.
Jeremiah 3:14 Return, backsliding children, says Yehovah; because I am to be married to you: and I will take one of you from this city, and two from that family, and I will bring you to Zion. WE
Under the Previous Covenant (Exodus 20:1-24:7), God had been a “Husband” to Ancient Israel:
Jeremiah 31:31-32 ‘Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah–32 ‘not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the LORD.
[As an aside, this woman is in deliberate contrast to the other woman of prophecy:
Revelation 18:16-18 ...saying, “What a waste, the great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and arrayed with gold, and precious stones, and pearls; 17 because in one hour, all of this wealth has been destroyed” [3]. Every captain, and every navigator sailing anywhere, and the mariners, everyone who made their living from the sea stood in the distance. 18 They cried, when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, “What other city is like this great city”! GV]
How did the idea that the Assembly (Church) is the focal point of Bible prophecy, rather than the instrument that God created to teach, among other things, about the prophecies concerning Israel come about? This teaching, commonly called “Replacement Theology”, is clearly traced to Augustine’s (354-430 AD) “Sermon Against the Jews”. Doing a web search on “Replacement Theology” will uncover lots of leads. Within these articles you can specifically search for the name “Augustine”.
I want to begin with the two primary “proof texts” allegedly revealing that the Assembly itself is the “Bride of Christ”:
Romans 7:3-4 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. 4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. KJV
This comes right out and declares that Paul’s “brethren” will marry “Him who was raised from the dead”! But there is a huge flaw in this translation. Actually calling it a translation is a real stretch. The word “ginomai”, that most (all?) versions translate as “Married”, in this lone context, is a word that literally means “to become” or “certainly not”. As an illustration, look at how Paul used “ginomai” in the book of Romans before he got to Chapter 7. Of the over 600 times that “ginomai” is used, it is only mistranslated as married here, where it is done three times.
Romans 1:3 ... concerning His Son, Yeshua who was ‘born’ [ginomai] a physical descendant of the family of David. GV
Romans 2:25 Circumcision is truly advantageous if you live by the Torah; but if you are a Torah breaker, you ‘are’ [ginomai] essentially a circumcised heathen. GV
Romans 3:4 ‘Certainly not’ [ginomai]! Yehovah will ‘be’ [ginomai] proven truthful, even if everyone else is a liar; as the Scriptures say, “So that You can be deemed righteous in Your words; and found to be pure when You are judged”. GV
Romans 3:6 ‘Certainly not’ [ginomai]! Otherwise how will Yehovah judge the world? GV
Romans 3:19 Yet we know that whatever the Torah says is addressed to those who are IN the Torah; so that every mouth will be silenced, and so that the whole world ‘will be’ [ginomai] liable for punishment from Yehovah.
Romans 3:31 Then do we abolish the Torah by faith? ‘Absolutely not’ [ginomai]. On the contrary, we uphold or sustain the authority of the Torah. GV
Romans 4:18 Under hopeless circumstances, he expected to ‘become’ [ginomai] the founding father of a commonwealth of nations; (As the Scriptures say, “You will have so many descendants”.) GV
Romans 6:2 ‘Absolutely not’ [ginomai]; because if we are people who have died to sin, how could we still live in it? GV
Romans 6:5 If we ‘have been’ [ginomai] “planted” together with Him, in a way resembling His death, then we will also participate in His resurrection. GV
Romans 6:15 So should we sin, because we arent “under the Torah”, but under compassion? ‘Absolutely not’ [ginomai]. GV
Translating “ginomai” as “married” was simply a deception on the part of translators with an agenda! Perhaps they rationalized that they were trying to “help” God make a point that He had neglected to make! Check “ginomai” in the Greek.
[The following numbers tell you how many times that the Authorized Version translated “ginomai” as “be” or “come to pass” etc.]
AV-be 255, come to pass 82, be made 69, be done 63, come 52, become 47, God forbid + 3361 15, arise 13, have 5, be fulfilled 3, be married to 3, be preferred 3, not tr 14, misc 4, vr done 2; 678
Here is how the passage in question would more accurately be translated. Keep in mind that women were treated differently in those days:
Romans 7:3-4 If, while her husband is alive, she appears in public clinging to another man, she would be considered an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is freed from the marriage law; and would not be an adulteress, tho she is with another man. 4 Now Friends, you have also died in regard to the marriage law, via the body of the Messiah; so that you can appear in public via a resurrection from the dead; and yield fruit for Yehovah. GV
The real word for married is “gameo”; usually translated as “marry” or as “married”.
“Proof Text” #2
Ephesians 5:22-33 Wives, be submissive to your husbands, as you are to Yehovah. 23 Because the husband is the head of the wife, just as the Messiah is the head of the Assembly; He Himself being the Life Giver of His body. 24 And as the Assembly is subject to the Messiah, so wives must be submissive to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as the Messiah loved His Assembly, and delivered Himself to death for it; 26 so that He could make it sacred, and cleanse it by washing it in water, and by the written Words. 27 Then he could present it to Himself as a highly reputable Assembly, not stained or wrinkled, or anything like that—sacred and unblemished. 28 In the same way, husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. A man who loves his wife loves himself. 29 No one ever hated their own body. Instead, they nourish and cherish it, as the Messiah does for the Assembly. 30 We are parts of His body—His very flesh and bones. 31 That is why a man should leave his father and mother, and be “glued” to his wife; and the two will become one body. 32 This is still a great secret. I’m talking about the Messiah and His Assembly. 33 Every husband must love his wife as he loves himself, and wives should respect their husbands. GV
[Your version will likely say “her” rather than “it” “to help make the case”. Also compare Green’s Interlinear]
Simply mentioning, in this passage, that Yeshua’s love for His Saints can be compared to a husband’s love for his wife: “”“Husbands, love your wives, just as the Messiah loved His Assembly, and delivered Himself to death for it” in no way implies that “the Church” will marry Yeshua! To the contrary, this particular analogy explains the “great mystery” that the Assembly of God is to be the supernatural “Body of Messiah”—a part of the Husband! The Assembly is the “One new man”, composed of both Israelites and proselytes, as explained in Ephesians 2:11-16)!
The newly married Israel, “the Lamb’s wife” is the Bride of this “One new man”, as well as Yeshua’s Bride. Being set apart, “sanctified”, if you will, to be married to Yeshua, as a wife is with her husband, will certainly be cause for celebration. However, to be “sons of Aloha” or “children of Aloha”—“heirs” not brides—“glorified together” with Him in a John 17 way, is magnificent beyond human comprehension! Again read what Paul said:
Romans 8:10-17 But if the Messiah is in you, your bodies are as good as dead, because of sin; yet your spirits are alive because of righteous thinking and behavior. 11 If the spirit of the One who raised our Master Yeshua the Messiah from the dead lives in you; then the One who raised our Master Yeshua the Messiah from the dead will also restore your mortal bodies to life by means of His spirit that lives in you. 12 Friends, we are not indebted to mortality, so that we can live as other mortals. 13 If you live as other mortals, you will die. But if by the spirit you put to death mortal practices, you’ll live. 14 Those who are led by the spirit of Yehovah are the children of Yehovah. 15 You have not received the spirit of bondage, again to fear; but you have received the spirit of becoming children, so that we now cry, “Abba, our Abba”. 16 This spirit is a witness to our spirit, that we are the children of Yehovah. 17 If children, then heirs; heirs of Yehovah, and companion heirs of the inheritance of Yeshua the Messiah; so that if we suffer with Him, we’ll also be praised with Him. GV
Romans 12:4-5 There are many members in one body, and none of those members have the same function. 5 So collectively we are one body in the Messiah, and each member belongs to the whole. GV
1 Corinthians 10:16-17 The cup of thanksgiving that we bless, isnt it the fellowship of the blood of the Messiah? And the bread that we break; isnt it the fellowship of the body of the Messiah? 17 So we are all one body, just as that bread is one; because we all hold onto that one bread. GV
Yeshua, and the Chosen, form One Body!
15 If the foot says, “Because I am not the hand, I am not part of the body”; is it, because of that, not part of the body? 16 If the ear says, “Because I am not the eye, I am not part of the body; is it, because of that, not part of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, how would it hear? Or if it were all ears, how could it smell? 18 But presently, Yehovah has placed every part of the body where He wants it. 19 If we were all one part, how could we have a body? 20 But now we are many parts, but still one body. 21 The eye cant say to the hand, you arent needed; nor can the head say to the feet, you arent needed. 22 On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable. 23 The parts of the body that we consider to be less elegant—on those we give more honor, and the “less attractive parts” are really more attractive. 24 The shapely members in us have no need of honor; because Yehovah has created a structure, a body, and given more honor to the part that is “inferior”; 25 so that there would be no fractures in the body, but that every part would be cared for in harmony. 26 This way, when one part is in pain, every member sympathizes; and if another part is praised, every part is praised. 27 Now you are the body of the Messiah; each member is one of the constituent parts of a whole. GV
The body of Saints can be composed of anyone of any race.
Ephesians 3:6 To be specific, all nations should be fellow heirs in His inheritance, fellow members of the body, sharing the promise that He revealed, thru the Good News. GV
Messiah is the head of the body; we are the hands and feet and every other part!
Ephesians 4:11-16 He surely gave us envoys, prophets, Assembly planters, shepherds and teachers: 12 to equip the Saints for the work of serving others—for building up the body of the Messiah; 13 until we all become unified in the faith and in the knowledge of Aloha’s Son—one COMPLETE MAN [the GROOM!], measuring up to the full standard of maturity, completely filled with the Messiah. 14 This is so that we wont be immature—tossed and turned as if by waves and blown away by the strong winds of treacherous doctrines, playing dice against skilled people who “cheat” in order to lead you astray! 15 We should be established in our love; so that everything in us will progress in the Messiah, who is the head. 16 He is precisely fitting all of the body parts together, so that every connection is assisted by supernatural energy [energeia], each member being precisely measured, so that the growing body itself is built up thru love. GV
Philippians 1:20 My earnest expectation is that I will never have a reason to feel ashamed, but that by my perfect freedom of speech, the Messiah, now as always will be exalted thru me, either by my life or by my death. GV
Colossians 1:21-27 You used to be aliens and even had hostile attitudes as well, because of your evil works, 22 He has now reconciled you, by His human body, and thru His death; so that He could bring you into His fellowship, sacred, faultless, and above reproach; 23 as long as you continue to firmly hold onto your convictions, and you dont waver from the anticipation of the Good News that has been heard thruout the whole creation under Heaven, that I, Paul, became a “deacon” of. 24 I can find joy in the suffering that I endure for your sakes; and personally fill in whatever is lacking in the Messiah’s afflictions, on behalf of His body—the Assembly. 25 I have become a “deacon” of the household of Yehovah, entrusted for your benefit, to fully deliver the Words of Aloha, 26 specifically, the mystery that was hidden for ages and generations, but is now revealed to his Saints. 27 Yehovah wanted to reveal the vast wealth and splendor of this mystery thruout nations; namely, that the Messiah is in you—the anticipation of splendor. GV
To borrow a phrase from Paul, tho perhaps not as he intended it to mean, allow me make my own comparison:
1 Corinthians 7:14 ... and the wife who doesnt believe [i.e. Israel] is dedicated to Yehovah by the husband who believes [the faithful remnant]; otherwise their children would be impure; but presently they are pure. GV
Other Comparisons of Israel and the Assembly
The Apostles had lived for years as Jewish Israelites, content with the hope of being the National Bride of Yehovah. Their thoughts were expressed in this statement: “Master, are You about to restore the Kingdom of Israel to its former state”? It is little wonder that a few of the comparisons between Israel and the Assembly would at least allude to the bond between The Husband and His bride. Paul said that he wanted to officiate at a “wedding” between the Corinthian Assembly and the Messiah.
2 Corinthians 11:2 You see, I have a burning zeal for you—a sacred zeal. I have promised you in marriage to a husband, as a chaste virgin. I want to present you to the Messiah myself. GV
In another analogy, it says that the Assembly is Israel! Yet the reality is that spiritual Israel will be far more blessed than will physical Israel.
Galatians 6:15-16 In Yeshua the Messiah, circumcision does not empower anyone, nor the lack of circumcision, but a new conversion does . 16 Peace be on those who walk straight—who walk the line, and mercy on the Israel of Yehovah. GV
Acts 7:38 He is the one who was in the Assembly in the wilderness, with the Messenger who spoke with him and with our ancestors at Mount Sinai; and he is the one who received the living words and gave them to us. GV
God’s Future Marriage Contract to Israel
Israel broke its first or “Old” marriage Covenant with God, but God promised to make a “new” and “better” marriage covenant with the Assembly—oops, I mean “with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah”.
Hebrews 8:6-8 But now, Yeshua the Messiah has attained a more excellent public service, since He is the Mediator of a more excellent covenant, one that was legislated with better promises than the former. 7 If the first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no need to look for a second one. 8 Finding fault with THEM He said, “Look, the days are coming, says Yehovah, when I will bring about a New Covenant with the descendants of Israel, and with the descendants of Judah. GV
Jeremiah 3:18 In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given as an ‘inheritance’ [or heritage or possession] to your fathers. 19 But I said: ‘How can I put you among the children and give you a pleasant land, a beautiful heritage of the hosts of nations?’ And I said: You shall call Me, ‘My Father,’ and not turn away from Me.’ 20 Surely, as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so have you dealt treacherously with Me, O house of Israel,’ says the LORD. 21 A voice was heard on the desolate heights, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel. For they have perverted their way; they have forgotten the LORD their God. 22 Return, you backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Indeed we do come to You, for You are the LORD our God.
Despite Israel’s treachery, God will “still choose” to remarry Israel.
Isaiah 14:1 Yehovah will have compassion on Jacob, and will still choose Israel, and give them rest in their own land. Foreigners will be united with them, indeed they will be united with the house of Jacob. —The Word of Aloha
Isaiah 4:3-6 It will happen, that anyone who is left in Zion, and anyone who remains in Jerusalem, will be called sacred, everyone who is recorded among the living in Jerusalem; 4 when Adonay has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and purged the blood of Jerusalem from its midst, by the spirit of justice, and by the spirit of burning. 5 Yehovah will create ABOVE the whole habitation of Mount Zion, and ABOVE her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for ABOVE all the splendor will be a place of shelter. 6 There will be a sukkah [tabernacle] for a shade in the daytime from the heat, and for a refuge and a chuppah [wedding shelter] [1] from storm and from rain. WE
[1] The other two times this word is used is in connection with a strong bridegroom traversing heaven, (Psalm 19:5-6) and an end time marriage (Joel 2:16). You dont suppose this has anything to do with the Lamb marrying the survivors, (remnant) of Israel do you?
Here are the exact terms of the new marriage covenant, that was only summarized in the book of Hebrews! Given a second chance, God will “still choose” to marry “Israel”.
Jeremiah 31:1-40 At the same time, says the LORD, I will be the God of all the families [or nations] of ISRAEL, and they shall be My people.’ 2 Thus says the LORD: The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness—Israel, when I went to give him rest. 3 The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you. 4 Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt, O virgin of Israel! You shall again be adorned with your tambourines, and shall go forth in the dances of those who rejoice. 5 You shall yet plant vines on the mountains of Samaria; the planters shall plant and eat them as ordinary food. 6 For there shall be a day when the watchmen will cry on Mount Ephraim, ‘Arise, and let us go up to Zion, to the LORD our God. 7 For thus says the LORD: Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations; Proclaim, give praise, and say, ‘O LORD, save Your people, the remnant of Israel!’ 8 Behold, I will bring them from the North Country, and gather them from the ends of the earth, among them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and the one who labors with child, together; a great throng shall return there. 9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications I will lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they shall not stumble; for I am a Father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn. 10 Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, ‘He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him as a shepherd does his flock.’ 11 For the LORD has redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of one stronger than he. 12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, streaming to the goodness of the LORD—for wheat and new wine and oil, for the young of the flock and the herd; their souls shall be like a well-watered garden, and they shall sorrow no more at all. 13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old, together; for I will turn their mourning to joy, will comfort them, and make them rejoice rather than sorrow...20 Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a pleasant child? For though I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still; therefore My heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says the LORD. 21 Set up signposts, make landmarks; set your heart toward the highway, the way in which you went. Turn back, O virgin of Israel, turn back to these your cities. 22 How long will you gad about, O you backsliding daughter? For the LORD has created a new thing in the earth—a woman shall encompass a man.’ 23 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: They shall again use this speech in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I bring back their captivity: ‘The LORD bless you, O home of justice, and mountain of holiness!’ 24 ‘And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all its cities together, farmers and those going out with flocks. 25 ‘For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. ‘26 After this I awoke and looked around, and my sleep was sweet to me. 27 ‘Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast. 28 ‘And it shall come to pass, that as I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to throw down, to destroy, and to afflict, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, says the LORD. 29 ‘In those days they shall say no more: ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.’ 30 ‘But every one shall die for his own iniquity; every man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge. 31 ‘Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—32 ‘not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a HUSBAND to them, says the LORD. 33 ‘But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 ‘No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. [There will not be any evangelism at this time.] For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more. ‘35 Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun for a light by day, the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, and its waves roar (The LORD of hosts is His name): 36 ‘If those ordinances depart from before Me, says the LORD, then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever.’ 37 Thus says the LORD: ‘If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, says the LORD. 38 ‘Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, that the city [Jerusalem] shall ‘be built’ [“be rebuilt” or “established”] for the LORD from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. 39 ‘The surveyor’s line shall again extend straight forward over the hill Gareb; then it shall turn toward Goath. 40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the Brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the LORD. It shall not be plucked up or thrown down anymore forever.
When Jerusalem is surveyed and rebuilt, and when God Himself is teaching the neighbors, then the New Covenant is in effect!
