Introduction

Acts 1: Theophilus, I previously wrote an account to you concerning everything that our Master Yeshua the Messiah did and taught, 2 until the day when He was taken up. He had been giving instructions to the heralds* who He had chosen by the Holy Spirit. 3 He showed them that He was alive, after He had suffered, by numerous signs over a period of forty days while He was seen by them, and He spoke of the Kingdom of Yehovah’. 4 When He had eaten with them, He instructed them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father that He had previously explained to them. 5 He said, “John immersed* you with water; but you’ll be immersed* with the Holy Spirit in a few days”. 6 When they assembled, they asked Him, “Master, are You about to restore the Kingdom of Israel to its *former state*” [600]? [1] 7 He replied, “It isnt for you, to know the *time remaining* [5550] or the *fixed dates* [2540] that Yehovah has established as His own privilege*”. 8 But when the Holy Spirit descends* on you, you’ll receive power, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea, among the Samaritans, and in the *remotest parts* of the earth. 9 After He said these things, while they saw Him, He was taken up, and a cloud *took Him up* [5274], and He vanished from their view. 10 While they were looking toward heaven, as He was rising, two men stood near them, in white clothing. 11 They asked them, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing and looking toward heaven? This same Yeshua, who was taken up from you to heaven, will come again, just as you have seen Him ascend to heaven”. 12 Later, they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet that is near Jerusalem, a distance of about a Sabbath [4521] day’s journey. 13 When they had entered, they went to an upper room where Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Matthew, Bartholomew, James the son of Alpheus, Simon the Zelot, and Judas the son of James were. 14 They all unitedly persevered in prayer, with one mind, together with the women, with Mary, Yeshua’s mother, and with His brothers. 15 In those days Simon Cephas stood up among the disciples, (the people assembled there numbered about one hundred and twenty,) and said, 16 “Men and brothers, it was fitting that the Scriptures would be fulfilled, that the Holy Spirit foretold by the statements* of David, concerning Judas who was the guide to those who apprehended Yeshua. 17 For he was one of our number, and had input in this ministry. 18 He purchased a field with the wages of sin; and he fell face down to the ground. He burst in the middle, and all his bowels gushed out. 19 This was known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem; so that the field was called, in the language of the country, ‘Aceldama’ that is interpreted ‘Field of Blood’. 20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, ‘May his habitation be desolate, and no live in it; and another *oversee his duties* [1984]’. 21 So it is proper that one of the people who has been with us during the time when our Master Yeshua went in and out among us, 22 from the immersion* of John until the day He was taken up from us, one of these should join us as a witness of His resurrection”. 23 They proposed two, Joseph called Barsabas, whose surname was Justus, and Matthias. 24 When they had prayed, they said, “Yehovah, You know what is in the minds of everyone, show us which of these you have chosen of these two, 25 that he should be commissioned* [651] in this ministry, that Judas broke away from, so that he could go to his own place”. 26 Then they cast lots, and it fell to Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven heralds*.

[1] Not to be overlooked is the fact that a literal Kingdom is not an “if”, but a “when” (Luke 22:30).

Acts 2: When the days of Pentecost were fully counted* [4845], while they were all assembled together, 2 suddenly there was a sound from heaven, like a violent wind; and the whole house where they were sitting was filled with it. 3 Flaming tongues of fire appeared to them that were divided, and they rested on each of them. 4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in various languages, according to whatever the Spirit inspired them to speak. 5 Now there were living in Jerusalem people who feared Yehovah, Jews from every nation under heaven. 6 When the sound happened, everyone gathered together; and they were confused, because everyone heard them speaking in their* [2398] own language. 7 They were all amazed, and marveled, saying to each other, “Everyone speaking—arent they all Galileans? 8 So how can each of us hear them in our own language, our native language? 9 Parthians, Medes, Elamites, those living between the rivers, Jews and Cappadocians, those from the region of Pontus and of Asia, 10 those from the region of Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, from parts of Libya near Cyrene, those who came from Rome, Jews and proselytes; 11 those from Crete, Arabians. We hear them speaking in our own languages the wonders of Yehovah. 12 They all wondered and were astonished, asking each other, “What could this mean”? 13 Others however ridiculed them, saying, “They have been drinking new wine, and are intoxicated”. 14 Afterwards Simon Cephas stood up, with the eleven heralds*, and spoke out to them, “Men, Jews, everyone who lives in Jerusalem; know this and listen to my words. 15 These men arent intoxicated, as you suppose; for it is only the third hour. 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 “In the last days, it will happen, as Yehovah said, ‘I will pour My Spirit on all *mortal humanity* [4561], your sons will prophesy, and your daughters and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. 18 Upon My servants and My handmaids I will pour My Spirit, in those days, and they will prophesy. 19 I will give signs in heaven, and wonders on earth, blood, fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before “the great and awesome day of Yehovah” comes. 21 It will be, that whoever calls on the name of Yehovah, will live’”. 22 Men of Israel, hear these words; Yeshua the Nazarene, a Man *pointed out* among you by Yehovah, by the deeds of power and miracles that Yehovah did among you thru Him, as you yourselves know; 23 He, being appointed by the foreknowledge and the will of Yehovah, you have delivered into the hands of the wicked; and have crucified and murdered. 24 But Yehovah has resurrected* Him, and has released the cords [1] of the grave; because it couldnt be that He would be overcome in the grave. 25 For David said of Him, “I saw my Master continually; for He is on my right hand, so that I will not be moved. 26 So my mind rejoices, and my speech* rejoicing, and my body will remain hopeful. 27 For you wont leave my body in the grave, nor will You allow your Pure* [3741] One to see corruption. 28 You have revealed to me the path of life; You’ll fill me with joy by Your presence. 29 Men and brothers, allow me to speak freely to you about the patriarch David. He died, and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this very day. 30 For he was a prophet, and he knew that Yehovah had sworn to him with an oath, “Of the fruit of your body, I will seat One on your throne”. 31 He foresaw, and spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that He wasnt left in the grave, neither did His body see corruption. 32 This Yeshua, Yehovah has resurrected*; and we are all His witnesses. 33 It is He who is exalted by the right hand of Yehovah, and has received from the Father a promise concerning the Holy Spirit, and has sent this gift that you see and hear. 34 For David hasnt ascended into heaven; because he himself said, “Yehovah said to My Yehovah, seat Yourself at My right hand, 35 until I will make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet”. 36 So all of the household of Israel should know for certain that Yehovah has made this Yeshua, who you crucified, to be Master and the Messiah”. 37 When they heard these things, they were grieved in their minds; and they asked Simon and to the rest of the heralds*, “brothers, what should we do”? 38 Simon said, “*amend your ways*, and be immersed* every one of you in the name of the Master Yeshua, for the remission of sins; so that you can receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”. 39 For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to everyone far away that Yehovah will call. 40 He testified many other things to them, and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved* from this perverse generation”. 41 Some of them quickly received his teaching, and believed, and were baptized. There were added, that very day, about three thousand *living beings* [5590]. 42 They persevered in the doctrine of the heralds*; and fellowshipped together in prayer, and in breaking bread*. 43 Fear was on every mind; and many signs and wonders were done by the hands of the heralds* in Jerusalem. 44 Everyone who believed, was together; and once prized possessions were now considered ordinary* [2839]. 45 Those who had possessions, sold them, and distributed them to everyone according to their needs. [2] 46 They went to the temple daily, with one mind; and at home they broke bread and took food rejoicing, in singleness* [858] of purpose. 47 They praised Yehovah, and had favor with all the people. Yehovah added to the Assembly every day, more who should be saved*. [3]

[1] See why this refers to “cords” rather than “pains”. Keyword: “cords”.

[2] This “communal” living was only begun because everyone believed that the Kingdom of Yehovah was about to begin. In vss 16-17 Peter (Simon Cephas) even began quoting the book of Joel that strictly concerns the end time “Day of Yehovah” (the Lord). Later, they resumed normal lives.

[3] Unlike Hebrew and Greek, Aramaic really doesnt have a word for “salvation”. “Life” is as close as can be had. Physical salvage can be had now. Spiritual “salvation” will have to wait for the resurrection.

Acts 3: Now Simon Cephas and John went together up to the temple, at the time of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 People routinely brought a man lame from his mother’s womb and laid him at the gate of the temple called Beautiful; so that he could ask for alms of those going into the temple. 3 When this man saw Simon and John going into the temple, he asked them for alms. 4 Simon and John looked at him, and said; Look at us. 5 He looked at them, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Simon said, “I dont have gold and silver [1], but what I have, I’ll give to you; in the name of our Master Yeshua the Messiah, the Nazarene, rise up and walk”. 7 He took him by the right hand, and raised him up. Immediately*, his feet and his heels recovered strength. 8 He sprang, stood up, and walked; and he entered the temple with them, walking, and leaping, and praising Yehovah. 9 All the people saw him, as he walked and praised Yehovah. 10 They knew that he was the beggar, who sat daily and asked for alms at the gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened. 11 As he held onto to Simon and John, all the people ran to them in amazement at the porch called Solomon’s. 12 When Simon saw it, he said, “Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this and why are you staring at us, as if by our own power or authority we have caused this man to walk? 13 The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son Yeshua; who you handed over, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he could have *made righteous* [1344] Him and set Him free. 14 But you denied the Holy and Just One, and demanded that a murderer be released to you. 15 You murdered the Pioneer* [2] of life; and Yehovah has raised Him from the dead, and all of us are witnesses. 16 By faith in His name, He has strengthened and cured this man, who you see and know; and faith in Him has given the man this soundness in your presence. 17 Now, brothers, I know that you did this in ignorance*, as did your rulers. 18 As Yehovah has previously announced by the words of all the prophets, that the Messiah was to suffer, and has in this manner fulfilled it. 19 So *amend your ways* and *turn to Yehovah* [1994]; so that so your sins will be blotted out, 20 and times of refreshing* will come to you from the presence of Yehovah; and He will send you the One who was made ready for you, Yeshua the Messiah, 21 who the heavens must receive, until the *the restoration of all things*, that Yehovah spoke of, by the words of His holy prophets of old. 22 For Moses said, “Yehovah will raise up a Prophet like me [3] for you from among your brothers; listen to Him, in everything that He tells you. 23 When this happens, anyone who wont listen to that prophet will be removed from his people and exterminated. 24 All the prophets from the time of Samuel and those after him, have foretold these days. 25 You are the descendants of the prophets; and heirs of the covenant that Yehovah made with our fathers, when He told Abraham, “In your descendants* all the families of the earth will be blessed”. 26 You were the first people that Yehovah has sent His Son to bless. But you must amend* your wicked ways.

[1] Unlike the Levitical priests, who gathered tithes; the heralds* were to operate on a shoestring.

[2] “one that takes the lead in any thing and thus affords an example, a predecessor in a matter, pioneer”.—The Online Bible Greek Lexicon

[3] “A Prophet like me”—The quotation is from Deuteronomy 18, the context concerns opposition to pagan practices. Yet the Jews (John 6:14; 7:40) and the emissaries (Acts 3:22; 7:37) knew this to be a Messianic prophecy.

Acts 4: While they were speaking these words to the people, the priests and the Sadducees and the rulers of the temple rose up against them. 2 They were angry with them because they taught the people, and *publicly proclaimed* [2605] the Messiah’s resurrection from the dead. 3 They apprehended them, and kept them until the next day, because evening was approaching. 4 Many who had heard the truth* believed; they numbered about five thousand men. 5 The next day, the rulers and the elders and the Torah* professors gathered; 6 and also Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, and those who were related to the high priest. 7 When they sat down them among them, they interrogated them asking, “By what power or by whose name, have you done this”? 8 Then Simon Cephas was filled with the Holy Spirit, and told them, “You rulers of the people, and elders of the house of Israel, listen to this. 9 If we are judged by you today, concerning the good deed done for the sick man, that is, how he was healed; 10 then you should know, and everyone in Israel, that by the name of Yeshua the Messiah, the Nazarene, who you crucified, and who Yehovah has raised from the dead, yes, because of Him, this man stands here before you healed. 11 This is the stone, that you builders rejected; and it has become the cornerstone*. 12 Nor is there salvation* in any other; for there is not another name under heaven, given to men, that we can be saved by. 13 When they heard the *bold speech* [3954] of Simon and John, they noticed that these were unschooled* [62] men lacking *formal educations* [2399, idiotes], and they were surprised at them. They realized that they had been associates* of Yeshua. 14 They saw that the lame man, who had been healed, stood near them; and they could say nothing against them. 16 “What will we do to these men? It is quite apparent that a miracle has been done by them; and everyone who lives in Jerusalem knows it. We cant deny it”. 17 So that the news of it spreads no further, let’s threaten* them about talking to anyone in this name. 18 They called them, and ordered them not to talk about or to teach anything in the name of Yeshua. 19 Simon Cephas and John told them, “Whether it is right before Yehovah, that we listen to you rather than to Yehovah, you decide. 20 But we wont stop talking about the things we have seen and heard”. 21 They threatened them, and dismissed them. For they found no grounds for punishing them, because of the people; for everyone praised Yehovah for what had been done; 22 for the man that this miraculous healing had been done, was more than forty years old. 23 When they were dismissed, they went to their brothers, and told them everything that the priests and elders had said. 24 When they heard it, they unitedly raised their voices to Yehovah and said, “Yehovah, You are the God who has made heaven, and earth, and the seas, and everything in them. 25 You have said, by the Holy Spirit thru David your servant, ‘Why do the nations rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 26 The kings of the earth and the rulers stood up, and they allied* [4863], against Yehovah, AND against His the Messiah’. 27 For truly, against Your holy Son Yeshua who You have anointed, Herod and Pilate, with the nations* [1484, ethnos] and the congregation of Israel, were gathered together in this city, 28 to do whatever Your hand and Your will had previously set out to do. 29 So now, Yehovah, Look and see their threats; and allow your servants to proclaim Your truth* boldly, 30 while You extend Your hand for cures and miracles, to be done in the name of Your holy Son Yeshua. 31 When they had prayed and made supplications, the place where they were assembled shook; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and spoke the truth* of Yehovah boldly. 32 In the Assembly of believers, they were as one life, and one mind. Not one of them said of the property he owned, that it was his own, but whatever had been theirs was shared* [2839]. 33 With great power, the heralds* testified about the resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah, and great *merciful kindness* was with them all. 34 No one among them was destitute; for those who owned lands or houses, sold them, and brought the money from the sale forward, 35 and placed it at the feet of the heralds*. Distribution was made to everyone, as he had need. 36 Joseph, who was surnamed Barnabas who by the heralds*, (that is interpreted Son of Consolation,) a Levite of the country of Cyprus, 37 had some land, and he sold it and brought the money from the sale, and laid it before the feet of the heralds*.

Acts 5: A certain man whose name was Ananias, with his wife whose name was Sapphira, sold his land, 2 and kept back part of the proceeds and hid it, his wife consenting; and he brought a part of the money, and laid it before the feet of the heralds*. 3 Simon said, “Ananias, why has Satan so filled your mind, that you would lie to the Holy Spirit, and hide some of the money from the sale of the land? 4 Wasnt it your’s before it was sold? And when it sold, you still had control over the money. Why have you decided to do this? You havent only lied to people*, but to Yehovah. 5 When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and died. Great fear overcame everyone who heard of it. 6 The younger men among them got up and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him. 7 Three hours later, his wife came in, without knowing what had happened. 8 Simon asked her, “Tell me, is this the price you were paid for the land”? And she said, “Yes, for that price”. 9 Simon told her, “Since you have been partners in testing the Spirit of Yehovah, look, the feet of those who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out”. 10 Immediately she fell before their feet, and died. The younger men came in, and found her dead; they picked her up, carried her out, and buried her beside her husband. 11 Great fear overcame everyone in the Assembly, and on everyone who heard of it. 12 There were many signs and miracles done by the hands of the heralds* among the people. They were all assembled together in the porch of Solomon. 13 No one dared to harm* the rest of them, because the people respected them. 14 The number of those added who feared Yehovah increased, a great many men and of women. 15 They brought the sick out into the streets, and laid them on cots, so that when Simon passed by, at least his shadow would cover them. 16 Many came to them from other cities around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those who had unclean spirits; and they were all cured. 17 The high priest was filled with envy, as were everyone with him of the sect of the Sadducees. 18 They seized the heralds* and arrested them and chained them in prison. 19 Then a Messenger* of Yehovah opened the door of the prison that night, and let them out; and told them, 20 “Go, stand in the temple, and tell the people all these words of life. 21 At dawn they entered the temple and taught. The high priest and those with him, gathered their associates and the elders of Israel, and sent men to the prison to get the heralds*. 22 When the officers who were sent by them went in and didnt find them in the prison they returned, 23 and said, “We found the prison carefully closed, and also the guards standing before the doors; and we opened them, but no one was there. 24 When the leading priests and rulers of the temple heard these words, they were astonished; and they wondered what this could mean. 25 One came and informed them, “The men that you put in prison, look, they are standing in the temple, teaching the people. 26 Then the rulers and the guards* went to bring them without violence; for they were afraid that the people might stone them. 27 When they had brought them, they set them before the Sanhedrin [4892]; and the high priest asked them, 28 “Didnt we strictly command you not to teach anyone in this name? Look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine; and you intend to bring the blood of this man on us”. 29 Simon, with the heralds*, told them, “Yehovah is to be obeyed, rather than men”. 30 The God of our fathers has raised up Yeshua, who you killed when you hung Him on a tree. 31 Yehovah has established Him as the Pioneer* and Savior; and has exalted Him to His own right hand, so that He might cause *a change of mind* [3341], and pardon [859] of sins to Israel. 32 We are the witnesses of these things; as is the Holy Spirit, that Yehovah gives to those who believe in Him. 33 When they heard these things, they burned with indignation, and considered putting them to death. 34 Then one of the Pharisees rose up whose name was Gamaliel, a Torah* professor, and honored by all the people; and he directed them to put the heralds* aside for a short time. 35 He said, “Men, sons of Israel, consider what you should do regarding these men. 36 For previously, Theudas rose up, and said of himself, that he was someone great; and about four hundred men followed him. He was slain; and those who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing. 37 After him, Judas, a Galilean, rose up in the days when the people were registering for the tribute tax; and he misled many people into following him. He died, and everyone who followed him was dispersed. 38 Now, I say, “Stay away from these men; leave them lone. For if this plan and this work originates with men, they will dissipate and come to nothing. 39 But if it is from Yehovah, it isnt in your power to thwart it; you might even find yourselves in opposition to Yehovah. And they agreed with him. 40 They called the heralds*, had them beaten, and ordered them not to teach in the name of Yeshua, and let them go. 41 They left them, rejoicing that they were worthy to suffer dishonor because of His name. 42 They didnt stop teaching and bringing the *Good News* to the temple daily, and at home, concerning our Master Yeshua the Messiah.

Acts 6: In those days, when the disciples had become numerous, the Grecian disciples complained against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministry to the needy. 2 The twelve heralds* summoned a great Assembly of the disciples, and said, “It isnt proper, that we should neglect the truths* of Yehovah, and serve tables. 3 So brothers, examine and select from among yourselves seven men of good reputation*, men full of the Spirit of Yehovah, and wisdom; so that we can put them in charge of this task. 4 We will continue in prayer, and in the ministry of the truth*. 5 This proposal was acceptable to everyone. They selected Stephen, a man who was full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas an Antiochian proselyte. 6 They stood before the heralds*; and after they had prayed, they laid hands on them. 7 The teachings* of Yehovah increased, and the number of disciples was greatly increased in Jerusalem; and many of the Jewish people were obedient to the faith. 8 Stephen was full of conviction* and dynamism* [1411, dunamis]; he did signs and miracles among the people. 9 There arose some of the synagogue who called themselves the Libertines*, as well as Cyrenians, Alexandrians, people from Cilicia, and from Asia minor who disputed with Stephen. 10 But they couldnt disprove the wisdom and the Spirit that he spoke with. 11 Then they sent men, and instructed them to say, “We have heard him speak words of blasphemy, against Moses and against Yehovah”. 12 They stirred up the people, and the elders, and the Torah* professors; and they approached him, seized him, and brought him into the the council. 13 They chose false witnesses to say, “This man doesnt stop uttering words contrary to the Torah*, and against this holy place”. 14 For we have heard him say, that this Yeshua the Nazarene will destroy this place, and will change the customs that Moses delivered to you. 15 Everyone sitting in the council looked at him, and they saw his face appear to be like the face of a holy Messenger.

Acts 7: The high priest asked him, “Are these things true”? 2 He said, “Men, brothers, and fathers, hear this. The magnificent Yehova appeared to our father Abraham, when he was between the rivers, before he came to reside in Mesopotamia*; 3 and he told him, “Leave your country, and your relatives, and go to a land that I will show you. 4 Then Abraham left the land of the Chaldeans, and came and lived in Charran. From there, after his father had died, Yehovah moved him to this land where you live today. 5 He didnt give him an inheritance in it, not even space for a foot; but He promised that He would give it to him as an inheritance, both to him and to his descendants, before he had a son. 6 Yehovah conversed with him, and told him, “Your descendants* will be pilgrims in a foreign land; and they will be enslaved, and oppressed for four hundred years. 7 Yehovah said that He would judge the nation that enslaved them. Afterwards, they will leave, and will worship Me in this land. 8 He gave them the covenant of circumcision. Then he fathered Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighth day. Isaac fathered Jacob; and Jacob fathered our twelve fathers. 9 Our fathers envied Joseph, and sold him into Egypt; but Yehovah was with him, 10 and delivered him from everything distressing him; and gave him favor and wisdom before Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he made him governor over Egypt, and over all his household. 11 There was a famine and great distress in all Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, and our fathers were short of food. 12 When Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent our fathers the first time. 13 When they went the second time, Joseph made himself known to his brothers; and Joseph’s relatives became known to the Pharaoh. 14 Joseph sent and brought his father Jacob, and all of his family; and they numbered seventy five people. 15 Jacob went down to Egypt; and he died there, he and our fathers. 16 His remains* were carried back to Sychem, and placed in the tomb that Abraham bought from the sons of Emmor. 17 When the time came that Yehovah had promised to Abraham with an oath, the people had multiplied and become strong, in Egypt 18 until there arose another king over Egypt, who hadnt know Joseph. 19 He dealt treacherously with our ancestors, and mistreated our forefathers, and gave orders that their infants should die of exposure. 20 At this time Moses was born; and he was pleasing to Yehovah; and he was nursed three months in his father’s house. 21 When he was set out, the daughter of Pharaoh found him, and brought him up as her own son. 22 Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and he was *quite knowledgeable* of their* words, and deeds. 23 When he was forty years old, it occurred to him to visit his brothers, the descendants of Israel. 24 He saw one of his race being abused; so he avenged him by killing the Egyptian who had abused him. 25 He thought that his brothers, the sons of Israel, would understand that Yehovah would deliver them by him; but they didnt understand. 26 The next day, he appeared to them, as they were quarreling with each another. He hoped to reconcile them and said, “Men, you are brothers; why you trying to harm each other”? 27 But the wrongdoer shoved him away, and said, “Who appointed you as ruler and a judge over us? 28 Do you want to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian yesterday”? 29 Moses fled upon hearing this, and became a refugee in the land of Midian. He had two sons there. 30 After fourty years, the *Messenger of Yehovah* appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a fire that burned in a bush. 31 When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight, so he came near to look. Yehovah told him, loudly, 32 “I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob”. Moses trembled, and didnt dare to gaze at the sight. 33 Yehovah told him, “Remove your shoes from your feet; for the ground that you are standing on is holy. 34 I have attentively seen the affliction of My people, who are in Egypt; and I have heard their groans, and have come down to deliver them. So come, I will send you to Egypt”. 35 This Moses, who they rejected, saying, “Who appointed you a ruler and judge over us”? is the One who Yehovah sent to them to be their captain and deliverer by the action of the Messenger* who appeared to him in the bush. 36 It was He who brought them out, working signs and wonders and miracles in the land of Egypt, and in the *Red Sea*, and in the wilderness, for forty years. 37 This Moses is the man who said to the children of Israel, “Yehovah your God will raise up for you, from among your brothers, a Prophet like Me; listen to Him”. 38 It was he, who was in the Assembly* [1] in the wilderness, with the Messenger* who spoke with him and with our fathers at Mount Sinai; and it was he who received the living words and gave them to us. 39 Our fathers wouldnt listen to him, but abandoned him, and in their minds returned to Egypt; 40 when they told Aaron, “Make us gods to go before us; because, as for this Moses who brought us from the land of Egypt, we dont know what has become of him”. 41 He made them a calf in those days; and they offered sacrifices to idols, and rejoiced in the work of their own hands. 42 Yehovah turned away, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the Book of the Prophets, “Did you, present to Me a slain animal or a sacrifice, in the wilderness, for forty years, you sons of Israel”? 43 But you bore the tabernacle of Moloch*, and the star of the god Rephon, images that you had made, that you might bow down to them. I will remove you beyond Babylon. 44 Look, the tabernacle of the testimony of our fathers was in the wilderness. It was just as the One who spoke with Moses had commanded it to appear—the form that He showed him. 45 Our fathers actually brought this same tabernacle, with Joshua, into the land that Yehovah gave to them for an inheritance from the nations that He drove out before them; and it was carried around until the days of David. 46 He found favor before Yehovah; and he asked that he could find a residence for the God of Jacob. 47 But Solomon built the house. 48 Yet the Most High doesnt live in temples* of human hands; as the prophet said: 49 “Heaven is My throne, and earth is the footstool under My feet. What house will you build for Me, says Yehovah, or what is the place of My rest? 50 Hasnt My own hand made all of these things”? 51 You stiff necked, and uncircumcised in mind and in ears; do you always resist the Holy Spirit? You do just as your fathers did. 52 Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute and kill, even those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, who you delivered up and murdered? 53 You have received the Torah* by the direction of holy Messengers, and havent kept it. 54 When they heard these things, they were filled with rage; and they bit him. 55 Because he was full of faith and the Holy Spirit, he looked toward heaven, and saw the splendor of Yehovah, and Yeshua standing at the right of Yehovah. 56 He said, “Look, I see heaven opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of Yehovah”. 57 They cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and they all rushed him. 58 They seized him, and hurried him out of the city, and stoned him. Those who testified against him, laid their clothes at the feet of a certain young man whose name was Saul. 59 They stoned Stephen while he prayed and said, “Master Yeshua, receive my spirit”. 60 When he had knelt down, he cried with a loud voice, “Yehovah, dont hold this sin against them”. After he said this, he passed away.

[1] Strong’s 1577, ekklesia: Assembly; it was not a “Church”.

Acts 8: Saul was consenting and participating in his death. At that time there was a great persecution against the Assembly in Jerusalem; they were all dispersed, except for the heralds*, among the villages of Judea and also among the Samaritans. 2 Believing men carried out the burial of Stephen. They lamented over him greatly. 3 Saul persecuted the Assembly of Yehovah, entering houses, dragging men and women out and imprisoning them. 4 Those who were dispersed, traveled around bringing the *Good News* of Yehovah. 5 Philip went down to a city of the Samaritans, heralding the Messiah. 6 When the people who were there heard what he had to say, they paid close attention, because they saw the miracles that were happening. 7 Many who were possessed by unclean spirits, made loud noises as they came out of them, and others who were paralyzed and lame, were healed. 8 There was great joy in the city. 9 A certain man was there whose name was Simon, who had lived in that city for a long time. He had misled the Samaritans by his sorceries, exalting himself, and saying, “I am a great one”. 10 They all *bowed to him in worship*, great and small; and they said, “This is the mighty power of God”. 11 They all revered him, because he had astonished them by his sorceries for a long time. 12 But when they were persuaded by Philip, as he brought the *Good News* of the Kingdom of Yehovah, in the name of our Master Yeshua the Messiah; both men and women were baptized. 13 Simon himself also believed, and was immersed*,and accompanied Philip. When he saw the miracles and mighty deeds that were done, he was astonished. 14 When the heralds* in Jerusalem, heard that the Samaritans had received the word of Yehovah, they sent Simon Cephas and John to them. 15 They went down, and prayed over them, that they could receive the Holy Spirit. 16 For it hadnt yet descended* [1968] on any of them; and they had only been immersed* in the name of our Master Yeshua. 17 Then they laid their hands on them; and they received the Holy Spirit. 18 When Simon saw that by the laying on of hands of the heralds*, the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, 19 saying, “Give me this power*, so that whoever I lay hands on may receive the Holy Spirit”. 20 Simon Cephas told him, “You and your money should perish, because you thought that the gift of Yehovah could be purchased with money*”! 21 You have no part nor inheritance in this faith; because your mind is not right before Yehovah. 22 Nevertheless, *amend your ways* of this wickedness, and pray to Yehovah; perhaps the thoughts of your mind may be forgiven. 23 For I perceive that you are *in bitter anger* [1] *extremely wicked* [4088], and bound to Torah*-lessness. 24 Simon said, “Intercede with Yehovah for me, so that none of the things you have mentioned will be in my future”. 25 When Simon and John had testified and taught them the truth* of Yehovah, they returned to Jerusalem. They had brought the *Good News* to many villages of the Samaritans. 26 The holy Messenger of Yehovah spoke with Philip, saying, “Get up and go to the south, along the desert way that leads down from Jerusalem to Gaza”. 27 So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian believer* [2], an important official in charge of all the treasury of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians. This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship. 28 As he was returning, he was sitting in his chariot, and was reading from Isaiah the prophet. 29 The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go near, and hold onto the chariot”. 30 When he came near, he heard him reading from the prophet Isaiah; so he asked him, “Do you understand what you are reading? 31 He answered, “How can I understand, unless someone guides* me? He asked Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 The section of Scripture that he was reading, was this, “He was led away as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before the shearer is silent, He also, in His humility, didnt open His mouth”. 33 From prison and from judgment He was carried; and His generation, who will declare? for His life is removed from the earth”. 34 The believer* asked Philip, “Who does the prophet speak of—himself, or of some other person”? 35 Then Philip began to speak from that Scripture, and explain the *Good News* to him concerning our Master Yeshua. 36 As they proceeded on the way, they came to a certain place where there was water. And the believer* asked, “See, here is water; what prevents me from being baptized”? 37 [A] Philip said, “If you believe with all your being, it is permissible”. He said, “I believe that Yeshua the Messiah is the Son of Yehovah”. 38 He ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down to the water, and Philip immersed* the believer*. 39 When they came up from the water, the Spirit of Yehovah quickly carried [726] Philip away; and the believer didnt see him anymore; but he went on his way rejoicing. 40 Philip was found at Azotus; and from there he traveled around, and brought the *Good News* to all the cities, until he came to Caesarea.

Acts 9: Saul was still full of threats and deadly hatred against the disciples of our Master. 2 He requested that letters from the high priest be given to him for use in Damascus in the synagogues; so that if he were to find people pursuing this Way* [3598], men or women, he would bring them in chains* to Jerusalem. 3 As he was going, and began to approach Damascus, he was suddenly surrounded by a light from heaven. 4 He fell to the ground; and heard a voice that said: “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting Me? It will be hard for you to kick against the goads”. 5 He replied, “Who are you Master”? And Yehovah replied, “I am Yeshua the Nazarene, who you persecute. 6 But get up and go into the city, and there you will be told what you should do”. 7 The men traveling with him along the way stood amazed; for they merely heard the sound* [1], but no one was visible to them. 8 Saul got up from the ground; and tho his eyes were open, he couldnt see. They took him by the hand, and led him into Damascus. 9 He was blind for three days; he neither ate nor drank. 10 In Damascus there was a certain disciple, whose name was Ananias. Yehovah told him, in a vision, “Ananias”! He answered, “I am here, Master”. 11 The Master told him, “Get up and go to the street that is called Straight; and ask in the house of Judas about Saul who is from the city of Tarsus. He is praying there. 12 He saw a man named Ananias in a vision, who came and laid his hand on him, so that he could regain his sight. 13 Ananias said, “Yehovah, I have heard of this man, from many people, about how many evil things he has done to Your Saints in Jerusalem. 14 Further, he has authority from the leading priests, to bind everyone who calls on Your name”. 15 Yehovah said, “Get up and go; for he is My chosen vessel to carry My name to the nations, to kings, and the sons of Israel. 16 I will show him, how much he must suffer because of My name”. 17 Then Ananias went into the house; and he laid his hands on him, and said, “Brother Saul, our Master Yeshua who appeared to you, by the way, as you came, has sent me to open your eyes, and you will be filled with the Holy Spirit”. 18 Immediately something like a scales fell from his eyes; and he recovered his sight. He got up and was baptized. 19 Then he ate and was invigorated. He then spent a few days with the disciples in Damascus. 20 Immediately* he heralded* Yeshua in the synagogues of the Jews, that He is the Son of Yehovah. 21 Everyone who heard him was amazed; and they said, “Isnt this the man who persecuted everyone who called on this name in Jerusalem? Didnt he also come here for this very reason, that he could bring them in chains* to the leading priests. 22 But Saul was strengthened even more; and he bewildered the Jews who lived in Damascus, while he demonstrated that He is the Messiah. 23 When he had been there many days, the Jews, after plotted with each other, decided to kill him. 24 Saul learned of their conspiracy; and they watched the gates of the city day and night, in order to kill him. 25 So the disciples put him in a basket, and let him down from the wall one night. 26 He went to Jerusalem; and he attempted to bond* [2853] with the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, and didnt believe that he was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the heralds*, and related to them how the Master appeared to him along the way, and how he conversed with Him; and how, in Damascus, he had spoken openly in the name of Yeshua. 28 He came and went with them in Jerusalem. 29 He spoke openly in the name of Yeshua and tried reasoning with the Jews who understood Greek. But they attempted to kill him: 30 and when the brothers realized this, they brought him one night to Caesarea, and from there they sent him to Tarsus. 31 Moreover the Assembly, thru all Judea, and Galilee, and Samaria had peace and they were edified; and continued in the fear of Yehovah, with increasing consolation from the Holy Spirit. 32 Then, as Simon traveled around the cities, he came down to the Saints who lived in the city of Lydda. 33 He found a certain man whose name was Aeneas, who had laid on a cot and been paralyzed for eight years. 34 Simon told him, “Aeneas, Yeshua the Messiah has healed you; get up, and fold up your cot. So he got up immediately. 35 Everyone who lived in Lydda and Saron, saw him; and they turned to Yehovah. 36 There was a certain woman disciple named Tabitha [2] in the city of Joppa. She was filled with good works, and charity. 37 She became sick at that time, and died; so they washed her, and laid her in an upper room. 38 When the disciples heard that Simon was in the city of Lydda, near Joppa; they sent two men to him, hoping that he wouldnt delay in coming to them. 39 Simon got up and went with them. When he arrived, they took him to the upper room. All the widows were gathered around her, weeping, and showing him the undergarments* [5509] and the *upper garments* [2440] that Tabitha had given them when she was alive. 40 Simon put all the people out, and fell to his knees and prayed; and he turned to the corpse and said, “Tabitha, arise”. She opened her eyes; and when she saw Simon, she sat up. 41 He reached his hand to her, and raised her up; and he called the Saints and the widows, and presented her to them alive. 42 This became known thruout the city; and many believed in our Master. 43 He stayed in Joppa several days. He stayed with a tanner named Simon.

Acts 10: There was a certain man in Caesarea, whose name was Cornelius, a centurion of the regiment called the Italian company. 2 He was righteous, and feared Yehovah, he and all his household; and he was very charitable with the people, and prayed to Yehovah continually. 3 This man distinctly saw, in a vision, about the ninth hour of the day, a Messenger* of Yehovah, who came in to him and said, “Cornelius”! 4 He looked at him, but was afraid; and he said, “What, friend*”? The holy Messenger said, “Your prayers and your charity have ascended as a memorial before Yehovah”. 5 Now, send men to the city of Joppa, and bring Simon who is called Cephas. 6 He is staying in the house of Simon the tanner, by the sea. 7 When the holy Messenger* who talked with him left, he called two of his *household servants*, and a soldier who feared Yehovah, and was obedient to Him. 8 He told them everything that he had seen, and sent them to Joppa. 9 The next day, as they traveled the road and approached the city, Simon went up to the roof to pray at the sixth hour. 10 He became hungry, and wanted to eat. But while they were providing food for him, he was *seized with ecstasy* [1611, ekstasis]. 11 He actually saw the heavens opened, and a *sailing vessel* [4632] fastened at the four corners. It was like a great linen sail [3607]; and it descended from heaven to the a earth. 12 In it were all kinds of four footed animals, and land dwelling reptiles, and fowls of the *earth’s heaven* [3772]. 13 A voice came to him, that said: “Simon, arise, slay and eat”. 14 Simon said, “By no means Master; for I have never eaten anything unhallowed* [2839] or *Levitically unclean* [169]. 15 Again a second time, a voice spoke to him: “What Yehovah has cleansed, dont *render unhallowed”. 16 This was done three times; then the vessel was taken back into heaven. 17 While Simon was *entirely at a loss* [1280], concerning what the vision he had seen could mean, the men sent by Cornelius arrived; and were asking for directions to the house where Simon lived. They came and stood at the gate of the courtyard. 18 They called out, and asked if Simon, who is called Cephas, was staying there. 19 While Simon was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit told him, “Look, three men are looking for you. 20 Get up, go down and accompany them; and dont even think about having doubts* [1252] about them, for I have sent them”. 21 So Simon went down to the men, and told them, “I am the one you are looking for; what is the reason for your coming”? 22 They told him, “A certain man whose name is Cornelius, a centurion fearing Yehovah, who all the Jewish people speak well of, was told in vision, by a holy Messenger*, to summon you to his house, so that he can hear whatever you have to say. 23 Simon led them in, and entertained them where he was staying. The following day, he got up and left with them. Some of the brothers from Joppa also went with them. 24 The next day, they entered Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them; as well as all of his relatives, and his close friends were also assembled with him. 25 As Simon came up, Cornelius met him, and fell down worshipping at his feet. 26 Simon made him stand, and told him, “Get up, I am just a man”. 27 As he talked with him, he went in, and found that many others were there. 28 He told them, “You know that it is contrary to our law for a Jewish man to associate with someone of another nation—someone who is not of our race; but Yehovah has shown me never to refer to another man as unhallowed or unclean”. 29 So I came quickly, when you sent for me. But now, let me ask you, why did you send for me? 30 Cornelius told him, “Four days ago I was fasting; and at the ninth hour, while I was praying in my house, a man clothed in white stood before me. 31 He told me, “Cornelius, your prayer was heard, and your charity is a memorial before Yehovah. 32 Now send to the city of Joppa, and bring Simon who is called Cephas. He is staying in Simon the tanner’s house, by the seaside. He will come and converse with you”. 33 Immediately I sent for you; and you have done well to come. We have all come here to you, wanting to hear whatever is commanded by Yehovah. 34 Then Simon said, “Truly I perceive that Yehovah does not discriminate among people. 35 But in every nation, whoever fears Him and labors for righteousness, is acceptable to Him. 36 For this is the truth* that He sent to the sons of Israel, announcing to them peace and rest by Yeshua the Messiah, He is Master of all. 37 You are familiar with the news that spread thruout all Judea, beginning in Galilee, after the immersion* that John heralded, 38 concerning Yeshua, who was of Nazareth, who Yehovah anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power. He is the One who traveled around healing those who were oppressed by the devil, because Yehovah was with Him. 39 We are His witnesses, as to whatever He did in the region of Judea and in Jerusalem. This is the One who the Jews hanged on a beam* [3536], killing Him. 40 Yehovah raised Him up, and on the third day His presence was made openly apparent; 41 certainly not before everyone, but by those of us who were previously chosen by Yehovah to be His witnesses. We ate and drank with Him after His resurrection from the dead. 42 He commanded us to herald and to *give a solemn testimony* before the people, that He is appointed of Yehovah to be judge of the living and of the dead. 43 All of the prophets testify, that whoever believes in His name, will *be pardoned from the imprisonment* [859] due to the *violation of divine Torah* [266]. 44 While Simon was saying these things, the Holy Spirit descended on everyone who heard the teaching. 45 The circumcised brothers who came with him were amazed and astonished, that the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out on those of *other ethnicities* [1484, ethnos] also. 46 For they heard them speak in various languages, praising Yehovah. 47 Simon said, “Can anyone forbid water, that these people who have received the Holy Spirit, as we have, shouldnt be baptized”? 48 Then he authorized* [4367] that they should be immersed* in the name of our Master Yeshua the Messiah. Then they asked him to stay with them a few days.
