Everlasting Kingdom: Unraveling the Bible’s Secrets

The Unveiling of Daniel’s Revelation

Time, times and half a time

Part 2 Daniel effectively sealed the book. Chapter eleven is a perfect example of that. Few understand it. Most think it is a history lesson.

12:5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and behold, there stood other two, the one on the brink of the river on this side, and the other on the brink of the river on that side. 6 One said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, how long shall it be to the end of these wonders? 7 I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by him who lives forever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when they have made an end of breaking in pieces the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

(Time times and half a time is three and a half years based on a 360 day year, and is 1,260 days. Taking this verse for what it actually says and I know of no one who teaches it, it will take 1,260 days to defeat all of Israel. When all of Israel’s power is completely broken into pieces, Zion’s rescue will begin. So how does this work? I can only speculate at this time, but the Tribulation will begin in Jerusalem. The beast and little horn grow in power and conquer more Israelite nations. At this time Israelites are either sold as slaves or sold for spare body parts. I surmise that the United States as being a part of the nations of Israel and the strongest will be the last power to be broken and shattered. For more information on the United States and how it is a part of the twelve tribes of Israel go to) .

Something has to happen to the United States’ influence over the world prior to the beginning of the Tribulation. Just take chapter eleven for example, the power struggle between the King of the North and the King of the South. If that were to happen when George Bush was President he would put a stop to it. That won’t happen in the future. Just examine the horrific damage to the country our current president has inflicted upon the Nation in just one year of office. He stole the hard earned and contractual bonuses of private citizens; he nationalized the auto industry, took control of the banks, stole the wealth your great grand children have yet to create by reckless spending and he is attempting to destroy the health care system. If his attack on America continues to go unchecked by Congress; America will cease to be the World Leading power it has been for the last 60 years. Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and private property ownership are God given rights for all mankind to pursue. Free market capitalism is the best tool invented to date that will allow the average man to prosper. If you destroy capitalism you destroy freedom and the greatness of the American Way. This Greatness which Obama repeatedly apologizes for to the nations in nearly every speech he makes. The horrific damage that Obama could do in 4 or 8 years could be irreparable even if the next president was George Washington II. There are too many bad guys in Congress standing in the way of what is right. The Congress would have to filled with “original intent” Constitutional believing patriots. If the next two out of three Presidents continue Obama’s agenda of redistribution of America’s wealth to China and the poor of the world, the United States will be left as powerless and desolate as a crippled, toothless, clawless tiger. This will cause a world leadership vacuum. The King of the North will be all too willing to fill the void. By the time the Kings of the North and South appear on the scene to disrupt world events all the President of the United States will be able to do is bow down to him and kiss his ring.]

12:8 I heard, but I didn't understand: then said I, my lord, what shall be the issue of these things? 9 He said, Go your way, Daniel; for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end.

(God also sealed the book of Daniel. However, He provided the keys to unlock the seals in the book of Revelation, but they are buried in a mystery.)

12:10 Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but those who are wise shall understand.

(Those who make themselves white, purified, and refined will do so during the Tribulation and Judgment Day.)

12:11 From the time that the continual burnt offering shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred thirty-five days.

Whatever these events are, they happen 30 days and 75 days after the Tribulation is over. I think it has to do with the former Israelite slaves defeating their former captors.

12:13 But go you your way until the end; for you shall rest, and shall stand in your lot, at the end of the days.

During Judgment Day Daniel receives his wages; he will shine as the sun at the end of days.

Now back to Revelation chapter 17 and the riddle which sparked this study in the first place:

Revelation 17:1 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, “Come here. I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters,

This Judgment happens on Judgment Day.

17:2 with whom the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality, and those who dwell in the earth were made drunken with the wine of her sexual immorality.”

This whore has great influence in corrupting the kings of the earth.

17:3 He carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet-colored animal, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of the sexual immorality of the earth. 5 And on her forehead a name was written, “Mystery, Babylon the Great, The Mother of the Prostitutes and of the Abominations of the Earth.” 6 I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Yeshua (Jesus). When I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.

(First of all when John saw this spectacle he wondered in great amazement! This means he actually did see a whore in a skimpy purple dress astride a red ten- headed ten- horned beast. You may be asking how can this be when a few verses further on it tells us that the 10 heads are 10 mountains and that the whore is a city. What John is witnessing is the image of the beast which represents the 10 mountains and this abominable city. Revelation chapter 13 shows more detail.)

Revelation 13:14 He deceives my own people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived.15 It was given to him to give breath to it, to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as wouldn’t worship the image of the beast to be killed.16 He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands, or on their foreheads;17 and that no one would be able to buy or to sell, unless he has that mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name (Revelation 13:14-17).

(The false prophet (a.k.a. little horn) tells people to make an image of the beast. They do and the false prophet has a demon inhabit it to bring it to life. If you are a prophecy buff, you have heard much about the mark of the beast. That only happens after the false prophet brings an idol to life. This living idol represents the real thing. That is the scarlet beast with the whore on top represents the real empire. The whore probably also represents the leader of the city Babylon which is the little horn.)

Back to Revelation chapter 17:

17:7 The angel said to me, “Why do you wonder? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.8 The beast that you saw was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the abyss and to go into destruction. Those who dwell on the earth and whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel when they see that the beast was, and is not, and shall be present. TR reads “yet is” instead of “shall be present” 9 Here is the mind that has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits.

The beast that was and is not and yet is, is the dictator that rules the end time Babylonian empire. Just prior to the Tribulation someone kills him and he is brought back to life! You just read in Revelation 13:14 that he had the sword wound and lived. Here is the rest of the context:

Revelation chapter 13:

13:1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads. On his horns were ten crowns, and on his heads, blasphemous names. 2 The beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.

(Remember the dream in Daniel about the Lion, the leopard, and the bear. Here it is again. This end time beast has power from all three.)

13:3 One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled at the beast. 4 They worshiped the dragon, because he gave his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

The entire world was astonished at the fact that they knew this man died, yet now he still lives. Who is able to make war with a “god” who can come back from the dead?

13:5 A mouth speaking great things and blasphemy was given to him. Authority to make war for forty-two months was given to him.

(He has authority to make war for 42 months, which is exactly how long the Tribulation lasts.)

13:6 He opened his mouth for blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his dwelling, those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed.

Never worship him regardless of how bad it gets; you could get your name blotted out of the book of life! The pressure to worship him will be tremendous. Never give in!

13:9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear.10 If anyone has captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is with the sword, he must be killed. TR reads If anyone leads into captivity, into captivity he goes. If anyone will kill with the sword, he must be killed with a sword. instead of If anyone has captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is with the sword, he must be killed. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.

(This has to do with the restoration of Israel from the Tribulation. Those who were the captors will be slaves themselves. Those who killed Israelites will be killed themselves during the uprising and restoration.)

13:11 I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke like a dragon.

This beast is the false prophet.

13:12 He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people.

The little horn is going to have a lot of super god like powers. Do not believe him he is just con-artist.

13:14 He deceives my own people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived.

(Having super god like powers the little horn will be able to persuade God’s very elect to worship and make a pagan image. If you are young to middle aged you could live to see this event. Know your Bible so you will not be deceived into obeying this false god.)

13:15 It was given to him to give breath to it, to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as wouldn’t worship the image of the beast to be killed.

(He makes this dead idol appear to come to life by having a demon inhabit it.)

13:16-17 He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands, or on their foreheads; 17 and that no one would be able to buy or to sell, unless he has that mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Here is where the mark of the beast come reality.

13:18 Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is six hundred sixty-six.

Now back to the riddle in Revelation 17:

17:10 They are seven kings. Five have fallen, the one is, the other has not yet come. When he comes, he must continue a little while.11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also an eighth, and is of the seven; and he goes to destruction.

(These five kings that have fallen are all in the future. None of this happened in the past. Remember in Daniel chapter 11 where we have the struggle between the King of the North and the King of the South? These five fallen kings are Kings of the North. The last one dies and comes back to life just as Yeshua did. Upon his resurrection he really starts gaining power. This is the beginning of the ten headed ten horned beast. Since he lived and died he gets counted twice that is why he is also numbered the eighth.)

17:12 The ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority as kings, with the beast, for one hour.

(When the little horn first comes on the scene, he takes over the power and office of three of these kings. Later he must loose influence because the empire is back to 10 kings. The Bible apparently does not explain how that will happen. The beast and the king of the south will battle against him. I speculate that through these conflicts the little horn loses these positions.)

17:13 These have one mind, and they give their power and authority to the beast.

These ten kings are in league with the beast. They make the mistake of battling our Messiah at his return!

17:14 These will war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings. They also will overcome who are with him, called and chosen and faithful.15 He said to me, The waters which you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages. 16 The ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the prostitute, and will make her desolate, and will make her naked, and will eat her flesh, and will burn her utterly with fire.

(Just before the beast and the 10 kings get completely defeated they launch a nuclear strike on the prostitute which represents the little horn who resides in Babylon. They want to obliterate it and the false prophet before they are defeated by Yeshua during Judgment day.)

17:17 For God has put in their hearts to do what he has in mind, and to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God should be accomplished.

God is the one ultimately in control.

17:18 The woman whom you saw is the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth.

(I think that the book of Daniel largely answers the questions I have about the riddle in Revelation chapter 17. The reigns of all seven kings are in the future. Five of them fall in battle or by intrigue. Three of those kings demise are detailed in Daniel chapter 11. The leader that will become the beast dies before the Tribulation begins and then is brought back to life. Upon being brought back to life he gains even more power and becomes the beast and is commissioned to rule another 42 months. The false prophet and the beast begin as a team but their goals are different and their alliance eventually erodes. In the end, the beast and the false prophet lose and God wins. Let us all amend our ways and be on God’s team.)
