The Testimony of Yeshua
Woman Caught in Adultery
John 8: Yeshua
) went to the Mount of Olives.
2 In the morning He returned to the temple and virtually
everyone came to Him, and He sat down and taught them.
3 The Torah teachers
and Pharisees brought a woman to Him who was caught committing adultery
. They made her stand in ‘among them’.
4 They told Him, “Master, this woman was caught in the very act of adultery.
5 In the Torah of Moses, YHVH
has commanded us to stone such people
, but what do You say?”
6 They asked this to test [trap] Him, in order to have legal grounds to accuse
Him. But Yeshua stooped down, and began writing [names]
on the ground with His finger.
7 They continued asking Him until
He stood up and said, “The person among you who hasn’t sinned [in this way] should be the first to throw a stone at her.”
8 He stooped down again and wrote [more names] on the ground.
9 When they heard about it
they passed by, one by one, beginning with the oldest until He was all alone
with the woman still standing ‘there’.
10 When Yeshua stood back up, He asked the woman, “Where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
11 She said, “No one, Master”. Yeshua replied, “I don’t condemn you either. So go, and from now on don’t sin any more.”
I am the Light of the World
12 Once more Yeshua conversed with them, “I am the light of the world. Anyone who comes to Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of Life.”
13 The Pharisees told Him, “You are giving testimony about Yourself, so Your testimony is invalid.”
14 Yeshua told them, “Even tho I’m giving testimony about Myself, My testimony is true because I know where I came from and where I’m going. But you don’t know where I came from or where I’m going.
15 You’re judging ‘by human standards’, but I’m not judging anyone.
16 But if I were to judge, My judgment would be valid, because I’m not alone. There’s Me and My Father who sent Me.
17 It is written in your own Torah that the testimony of two people is valid.
18 I AM testifying about Myself and My Father who sent Me also testifies about Me.”
19 They asked Him, “Where is Your Father?” Yeshua replied, “You don’t know Me or My Father. If you knew Me, you would also know My Father.”
20 This is what Yeshua explained in the treasury, as He taught in the Temple, and no one ‘arrested’ Him because His appointed time
had not yet come.
You Can’t Go Where I’m Going
21 Later on
Yeshua told them again, “I’m going away, and you’ll try to find Me, but you’ll die in your sins. You can’t go where I’m going.”
22 The Jews asked, “Is He about to kill Himself, since He says, “You can’t go where I’m going?”
23 He told them, “You are of temporal succession
, I existed before time
, you are part of the universe
[Gr. kosmos], I’m not part of the universe.”
24 That’s why I told you you’ll die in your sins, because if you don’t believe that I AM
, you’ll die in your sins.”
25 The Jews asked Him, “Who are You?” Yeshua replied, “What have I been telling you all along? 26 I still have a lot to say about you, and a lot to condemn. The One who sent Me is reliable. But these are the things that I heard from Him and declare to the world.”
27 They still
didn’t realize that He was telling them about the Father.
28 Yeshua told them again, “When you have lifted up the Human Son
, then you’ll know that I AM, and that I do nothing by My own initiative. I only say what the Father taught Me.
29 The One who sent Me is with Me, My Father hasn’t left Me alone, because I always do what pleases Him.”
30 While He was saying these things, many believed in Him.
The Truth Will Set You Free
31 Yeshua told the Jews who believed in Him, “If you continue to live by
My teachings you’ll truly be My disciples.
32 You’ll know the truth and the truth will set you free.”
33 They told Him, “We are descendants of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone, so how can You say, ‘You’ll be set free?’”
34 Yeshua replied, “I am absolutely certain
that whoever commits sin is a slave to sin.
35 A servant doesn’t have a permanent place in the family
, but a son belongs in the family forever.
36 So if the Son sets you free, you’ll really be free.
37 I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you want to kill Me because you don’t agree with what I’m saying.
38 I’m telling you what I’ve seen with My Father, and you do what you’ve seen with your father.”
39 They told him, “Abraham is our father”. Yeshua told them, “If you were descendants of Abraham, you would do the things Abraham did.
40 But now you want to kill Me for telling you the truth that I heard from Yehovah
. Abraham wouldn’t have done things like
41 But you do the works your father did.” They told him, “We aren’t the offspring
of prostitution, we have one Father, Yehovah
42 Yeshua told them, “If YHVH were your Father, you’d love Me, because I descended from the presence of
YHVH, I did not arrive here
by My own initiative, but He sent Me.
43 Why don’t you understand Me? Is it because you can’t hear what I say?
44 You are from your father the devil, and you are bent on acting on your father’s cravings. He was a murderer from the beginning, and didn’t take a stand for the truth, because there is no truth in him, and when he tells a lie, he’s ‘just being’ himself, because he is the very
father of lies
45 But because I’m telling the truth, you don’t believe Me.
46 Which of you can prove Me guilty of sin? Yet if I’m telling the truth, why don’t you believe Me?
47 The people who belong to YHVH hear what YHVH says. You’re not listening because you don’t belong to YHVH.”
48 The Jews replied, “Aren’t we right in saying that You are a demon possessed Samaritan?”
49 Yeshua answered, “I’m not demon possessed. I honor My Father and you condemn Me.
50 I’m not pursuing My own praise, but there is One pursuing it for Me
. His opinion
51 I tell you with absolute certainty that anyone who carefully preserves
My instructions won’t ‘experience’ death forever.”
52 The Jews told Him, “Now we know that You’re demon possessed. Abraham died, and so did the prophets, yet You say, ‘Anyone who carefully preserves My instructions won’t ‘experience’ death forever.’
53 Are You greater than our ancestor Abraham who died, or than the prophets who died? Who are You claiming to be?”
Before Abraham Was, I AM
54 Yeshua told them, “If I praise Myself, My praise is nothing. My Father praises Me, the One you’re claiming is your Aloha
55 You don’t know Him, but I know Him. If I were to say that I didn’t know Him, I’d be a liar like all of
you, but I know Him and I obey His words.
56 Your ancestor Abraham wanted to see My day, and he saw it
and was jubilant!”
57 The Jews told Him, “You aren’t even fifty years old, yet You claim to have seen Abraham?”
58 Yeshua told them, “I tell you with absolute certainty that before Abraham existed, I AM.”
At this they picked up stones to stone Him. But Yeshua concealed Himself and left the Temple, walking right among them as He left.
The 53rd verse of John 7, as well as the whole story of the adulteress in John 8:1-11, was accidentally omitted in the Peshitta Testimony of Yeshua (and the Sinaiticus and Vaticanus). It is found in eight Aramaic (Syriac) mss, and in numerous references by the “church fathers” in reference to the book of John. This is one exact page since manuscript pages were all laid out with the same line & word counts.
Names were being written on the ground. “... Those who depart from Me will be written on the ground...” Jeremiah 17:13.
Other than the Etheridge, the ISV and the NLT, every translation I checked pretends that it says ‘I am He’ or ‘I am one’, etc instead of ‘I AM’. Neither Aramaic or Greek really says ‘I am He’. It’s ‘Ena-Na’, as in Exodus 3:14.
Abraham met Yeshua when He was known as “The ‘Angel’ of the ‘Lord’.”
Man Born Blind Now Sees
John 9: As He was walking along, He saw a man who had been born blind.
2 His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, causing him to be born blind?”
3 Yeshua told them, “He didn’t sin, nor did his parents, but it was this way so that the works of YHVH could be displayed in him.
4 I must do the works of the One who sent Me while it is day, because night is coming when no one can work.
5 As long as I’m in the world, I’m the Light of the world.”
6 After He said this, He spat on the ground and made mud with the saliva, and spread it on the eyes of the blind man,
7 and told him, “Go wash in the pool of Siloam” . He went and washed and came back able to see.
8 His neighbors and others who had previously seen him begging, began asking, “Isn’t this the man who used to sit and beg?”
9 Some were saying, “He’s the one”, while others said, “No, he only looks like him.” But he said, “I’m the man”.
10 They asked him, “How were your eyes ‘healed’?”
11 He answered, “A man named Yeshua made mud and spread it on my eyes and told me, ‘Go wash in the water of Siloam.’ So I went and washed and then I could see.”
12 They asked him, “Where is He?” He replied, “I don’t know”.
Religious Leaders Banish the Healed Man
13 They took the man who had been blind to the Pharisees.
14 Now it was on the Sabbath when Yeshua made the mud and ‘healed’ his eyes.
15 The Pharisees asked him again, “How was your sight restored?” And he told them, “He put mud on my eyes, and I washed, and now I can see.”
16 Some of the Pharisees said, “This man isn’t of YHVH because He doesn’t observe the Sabbath.” But others said, “How can a Man who is a sinner perform such miraculous signs?” So there was division among them.
17 Again they asked the formerly blind man, “What do you say about Him, since He gave you sight?” He told them, “I say that He is the Prophet.”
18 The Jews didn’t believe that he had been blind and received sight until they called the parents of the man who had received his sight.
19 They asked them, “Is this your son, the one you say was born blind? How is it that he can see now?”
20 His parents said, “We know that he’s our son and that he was born blind,
21 but we don’t know how he is able to see now, or who ‘healed’ him. He’s old enough, ask him, he can speak for himself.”
22 His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews, since the Jews had decided that if anyone acknowledged that He was the Messiah, they would be banished from the synagogue.
23 That’s why his parents said, “He’s old enough, ask him.”
24 They called in the man who had been blind a second time, and told him, “Give the praise to YHVH, because we know that this Man is a sinner.”
25 He replied, “I don’t know if He’s a sinner or not. But I do know that I was blind, and now I see!”
26 They asked him again, “What did He do to you? How did He ‘heal’ your eyes?”
27 He replied, “I already told you, and you didn’t listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become His disciples too?”
28 Then they hurled insults at him and said, “You’re His disciple, but we’re disciples of Moses.
29 We know that YHVH spoke with Moses, but as for this Man, we don’t know where He’s from.”
30 The man replied, “This is amazing! You scholars don’t know where He is from, yet He ‘healed’ my eyes.
31 Now we know that YHVH doesn’t listen to sinners, but He listens to anyone who reveres Him and does His will.
32 Since the beginning of time, no one has ever heard of anyone healing the eyes of a person who was born blind.
33 If this Man were not from YHVH, He couldn’t have done that.”
34 They replied, “You were born entirely sinful, and you want to teach us?” Then they threw him out of the synagogue.
The Blind Man Really Sees!
35 Yeshua heard that they threw him out, and when He found him, He asked him, “Do you believe in the Son of YHVH”
36 The man who was healed asked, “Master, who is He? I want to believe in Him?”
37 Yeshua told him, “You have seen Him, and He is the One
who is talking to you.”
38 He said, “Master, I believe”, and he worshiped
39 Yeshua said, “I came into the world for judgment, so that those who are blind can see, and so that those who can see will become blind.
40 Then some
of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things and they asked Him, “Are we blind too?”
41 Yeshua told them, “If you were blind, your sins wouldn’t “stick
”, but now you say, “We see”, so your sin is confirmed.”
Siloam comes from the Hebrew and means “sent”.
 See Proverbs 30:4.
The True Shepherd
John 10: “I tell you with absolute certainty that anyone who doesn’t enter by the gate into the sheepfold, but climbs in some other way is a thief and a robber.
2 But the person who enters thru the gate is the shepherd of the flock.
3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his sheep by name and leads them out.
4 When he has led out his flock, he walks ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they recognize his voice,
5 but the flock won’t follow a stranger. They flee from him because they don’t recognize the voice of strangers.”
6 Yeshua used this illustration with them, but they didn’t understand what He meant.
7 Later, Yeshua told them, “I tell you with absolute certainty that I’m the gate for the flock.
8 Everyone who came before Me
were thieves and robbers, but the flock didn’t listen to them.
9 I’m the gate. Anyone who enters thru Me will be Rescued
, they’ll come in and out and find pasture.
10 The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came so that they can have Life, and have it abundantly.
11 I’m the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
12 When a hireling who isn’t the shepherd and doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. So the wolf comes and attacks and scatters the flock.
13 The hireling flees, because he was only working for money, and cares nothing about the flock.
14 I’m the Good Shepherd, and I know My own sheep and they know Me.
15 Just as My Father knows Me and I know My Father. And I lay down My life for the flock.
16 I have other sheep that aren’t in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will also hear My voice and together they’ll all become one flock with one Shepherd.
17 This is why My Father loves Me, because I’m laying aside My life only to resume it.
18 No one is going to take it from Me because I’m laying it aside of My own free will. I have the liberty to lay it down and the liberty to resume it again because I have received this commandment from My Father.”
19 Once again the Jews were divided due to the things He said.
20 Many of them said, “He has a demon and is insane
, why listen to Him?”
21 Others claimed, “These aren’t things someone demon possessed would say. Can a demon ‘heal’ the eyes of someone who is blind?”
I and My Father Are One!
22 It was winter, and the Feast of Dedication [Hanukkah] was being celebrated in Jerusalem.
23 Yeshua walked into the Temple, inside the open porch of Solomon.
24 The Jews gathered around Him and asked Him, “How long are You going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”
25 Yeshua told them, “I told you, but you didn’t believe Me
. The works that I do in My Father’s name confirm what I say,
26 but you don’t believe because you’re not My sheep. As I’ve told you,
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
28 I give them eternal Life and they’ll never be lost, and no one will grab them out of my hand.
29 My Father who gave them
to Me is greater than everyone, and no one can grab them from My Father’s hand.
30 I and My Father are One
You Claim to be Aloha
31 Once again the Jews picked up stones to stone Him.
32 Yeshua told them, “I’ve shown you many good works from My Father. Which of those works do you want to stone Me for?”
33 The Jews replied, “We’re not going to stone You for any good work, but for blasphemy, because You are only a man, but You claim to be
34 Yeshua told them, “Isn’t it written in your Torah, ‘I have said, you are alohee’ [supreme beings]?
35 If he called the people who possessed the Word of Aloha, “alohee”, and the Scriptures are never ‘contradictory
36 then how can you say to the One who the Father has dedicated and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme’, because I told you I’m the Son of YHVH?
37 If I’m not doing My Father’s works, don’t believe Me.
38 But if I’m doing them
, even tho you don’t believe Me, believe in the works, so that you can know and believe that My Father is in Me, and that
in My Father.”
39 Again they tried to arrest Him, but He escaped from their grasp.
40 He went to the other side of the Jordan, to the place where John had begun immersing, and He stayed there.
41 Many people came to Him and said, “John hasn’t even performed a single miracle, but everything that John said about this Man was true!”
42 And many believed in Him.
The Death of Lazarus
John 11: NOW there was a man who was sick, Lazarus from the town of Bethany. He was the brother of Mary and of Martha.
2 She was the same Mary who anointed Yeshua’s feet with perfume, and wiped them with her hair. Her brother Lazarus was sick.
3 His two sisters sent a message to Yeshua that said, “Master, the one You love is sick.”
4 Yeshua said, “This sickness isn’t a deadly sickness. It is for the splendor of YHVH, so that the Son of YHVH will be praised because of it.”
5 Now Yeshua loved Martha and Mary and Lazarus.
6 Yet when He heard that he was sick, He stayed where He was for two days.
7 After this He said to His disciples, “Let’s go back to Judea.”
8 His disciples said to Him, “Rabbi, the Jews have just tried to stone You, and You want to go there again?”
9 Yeshua replied, “Aren’t there twelve hours in the day? When someone walks in the daytime, they won’t stumble because they see the light of the world.
10 But if someone walks at night, they stumble because there is no light with them.”
11 After Yeshua said these things, He told them, “Lazarus our Friend has fallen asleep. But I’m going to wake him up.”
12 His disciples said, “Master, if he’s sleeping, he’s recovering.”
13 But Yeshua had spoken metaphorically of his death, but they thought that He literally meant lying down sleeping.
14 Then Yeshua told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead,
15 and for your sake I’m glad I wasn’t there, so that you can believe. Now let’s start walking there.”
16 Then Thomas, who is called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, “Let’s go too, and die with Him.”
17 Yeshua arrived in Bethany, and found that he had been in the grave for four days.
18 Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about fifteen stadia [two miles] away.
19 Many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them about their brother.
20 When Martha heard that Yeshua was coming, she went out to meet Him, but Mary stayed sitting in the house.
21 Martha said to Yeshua, “Master, if You had been here, my brother wouldn’t have died.
22 But even now, I know that whatever You ask YHVH for, He’ll give You.”
23 Yeshua told her, “Your brother will rise again.”
24 Martha replied, “I know that he’ll rise in the resurrection on the Last Day
25 Yeshua told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in Me will live, even if they die.
26 Anyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
27 She told Him, “Yes Master, I believe that You are the Messiah, the Son of YHVH, the One who was to come into the world.”
28 After she said that, she went and called her sister Mary aside in private, and told her, “Our Master is here and is calling for you.”
29 When Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to meet Him.
30 Yeshua had not yet entered the village, but was still in the place where Martha met Him.
31 When the Jews who were with her in the house consoling her, saw that Mary had gotten up quickly and gone out, they followed her because they thought she was going to the grave to cry.
32 When Mary arrived where Yeshua was and saw Him, she fell at His feet and told Him, “If you had been here, Master, my brother wouldn’t have died.”
33 When Yeshua saw her crying, and the Jews who came with her crying, He was moved in His spirit and was greatly disturbed.
34 He asked, “Where have you laid him?” They replied, “Master, come and see”.
35 Yeshua was in tears.
36 The Jews said, “See how much He loved him.”
37 But some of them asked, “couldn’t this Man who ‘healed’ the eyes of a blind man have prevented this death?”
38 Yeshua, still disturbed, came to the grave. The grave was a cave and a stone was lying against the entrance.
39 Yeshua said, “Take the stone away”. Martha, the sister of the deceased told Him, “Master, by this time there will be a stench, he’s been there four days.”
40 Yeshua told her, “Didnt I tell you that if you believed you would see the splendor of YHVH?”
41 So they removed the stone. Yeshua looked up and said, “Father, I thank You that You’ve heard Me.
42 I know that You always hear Me, but I said this for the sake of people standing here, so they’ll believe that You sent Me.”
43 After saying this, He called out in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”
44 The man who had died came out with his hands and his feet wrapped with burial clothes, and his face wrapped with cloth. Yeshua told them, “Untie him and let him go.”
Will He Come to the Feast?
45 Many of the Jews who had come to Mary, believed in Yeshua when they saw what He did,
46 but some of them went to the Pharisees and told them everything that Yeshua had done.
47 The high priests and Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin, and said, “What should we do now? This Man is performing many miraculous signs.
48 If we let Him go on like this, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and confiscate our territory and our nation.”
49 But one of them, named Caiaphas, the high priest that year, told them, “You don’t know anything.
50 You don’t realize that it’s better for us, for one Man to die for the people than to have the whole nation destroyed.”
51 However He didn’t say this on his own initiative, but as high priest
that year, he prophesied that Yeshua was about to die for the people
52 and not only for the people, but also to unify the sons of Aloha who were scattered abroad [Gr. diaspora].
53 From that day on they resolved to kill Him.
54 As a result, Yeshua didn’t walk publicly among the Jews, but went to a region near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim, and He stayed there with His disciples.
55 The Passover of the Jews was near, and many went up from the villages to Jerusalem before the Feast to purify themselves.
56 They were looking for Yeshua, and saying to one another as they stood in the temple, “What do you think? Will He avoid coming to the Feast?”
57 The high priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where He was, they were to let them know, so they could arrest Him.
 Do souls sleep?
Yeshua Anointed With Spikenard
Six days before the Passover, Yeshua arrived in Bethany, where Lazarus was, who Yeshua had raised from the dead.
2 They made a supper for Him there. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of the guests reclining with Him.
3 Mary took an alabaster vase of very expensive perfume, the finest nard
, and anointed Yeshua’s feet, and she wiped His feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
4 But Judas Iscariot, the disciple who was going to betray Him said,
5 “Why wasn’t this perfume sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”
6 He didn’t say this because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the money box, he carried whatever was tossed into it.
7 But Yeshua said, “Leave her alone, she has kept it for the day of My burial.
8 You will always have the poor with you, but you won’t always have Me.”
9 A large crowd of Jews heard that He was there, and they came, not only because of Yeshua, but also so that they could see Lazarus, who He raised from the dead.
10 The high priests even considered killing Lazarus as well,
11 since it was because of him that many of the Jews were leaving them and believing in Yeshua.
Yeshua on a Donkey
12 The next day the large crowd that had come to the Feast heard that Yeshua was coming to Jerusalem.
13 So they took boughs of palm trees and went out to meet Him, shouting, “Aloha save Him [Hosanna]. Blessed is the One who comes in the name of YHVH, the King of Israel!”
14 Yeshua found a donkey, and sat on it, as it is written,
15 “Dont be afraid, daughter of Zion. Your King is coming to you. He’s riding on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
16 His disciples didn’t understand these things at the time, but after Yeshua was honored with splendor
, the disciples remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done this to Him.
17 The crowd that had been with Him when He raised Lazarus from the dead continued telling others about it.
18 Because of this many people went out to meet Him, since they heard that He had given this miraculous sign.
19 So the Pharisees said to each other, “You see that we’re ‘loosing ground’? The whole world is following Him.”
20 There were also some Greek proselytes
among the people who had come up to worship at the Feast.
21 They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and said, “Friend, we want to see Yeshua.”
22 Philip came and told Andrew, and Andrew and Philip told Yeshua.
23 Yeshua replied, “The time has come for the Human Son to enter His splendor.
24 I tell you with absolute certainty that unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains ‘just one seed’, but if it dies it produces many seeds.
25 Anyone who loves their life will lose it, and anyone who is not concerned about their life in this world will preserve it for eternal Life.
26 Anyone who serves Me must follow Me. And where I am is also where my servant
[Gr. diakonos] will be [Aramaic future tense
]. Father will honor anyone who serves Me.
Yeshua Predicts His Death
27 “Now My life is deeply troubled, and what should I say? Father, save Me from this hour? But this is why I came to this hour.
28 Father, praise Your name!” A voice was heard from Heaven, “I have already brought praise to My name
and I will praise it
29 The crowd standing by, heard it
, and they said, “There was thunder”. But others said, “A spirit Messenger
was speaking with Him.”
30 Yeshua told them, “This voice wasn’t for My sake, but for yours.
31 The world is being judged right now! And
now the ruler of this world will be thrown out
32 After I’ve been lifted up from the earth, I’ll draw everyone to Myself.”
33 He said this to indicate the kind of death He was going
34 The people were telling Him, “We have heard from the Torah
that the Messiah remains forever, so why do You say that the Human Son will be lifted up? Who is this Human Son?”
35 Yeshua told them, “For a little while longer, the Light is with you. Walk, while you have the Light, so that darkness won’t overtake you. Anyone who walks in the dark doesn’t know where they are going.
36 While you have the Light, believe in the Light so that you can become children of Light.” After Yeshua said these things, He went away and hid Himself from them.
37 Even tho He had done all of these miraculous signs in their presence, they still didn’t believe in Him.
38 This was to fulfill the statement of Isaiah the prophet when he said, “YHVH, who has believed our report? Who has the arm of YHVH been revealed to?”
39 This is why they couldn’t believe, again, because as Isaiah had said,
40 “They
have blinded their own
eyes and darkened their minds, so that they couldn’t see with their eyes or understand with their minds and be converted, so that I could heal them.”
41 Isaiah [6
spoke about these things after he saw His splendor.
They Loved the Praises of Men
42 Many of the leaders actually believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they didn’t admit it since they didn’t want to be banished from the synagogue.
43 They loved the approval of people more than the approval of YHVH.
44 Yeshua shouted, “Anyone who believes in Me, doesn’t believe so much in Me, but in the One who sent Me.
45 Whoever sees Me sees the One who sent Me.
46 I am the Light who came into the world, so that whoever believes in Me wouldn’t stay in the dark.
47 I won’t judge anyone who hears My words, but doesn’t obey them, because I didn’t come into the world to judge it [this time]
, but to Rescue
48 Those who reject Me and don’t accept My Word have something to judge them—the Word
that I have spoken will judge them on the Last Day.
49 I haven’t spoken on My own. The Father who sent Me instructed Me about what I should say and what I should reveal.
50 I know that His Commandments
lead to eternal Life. So the things I’m saying are what My Father told Me to say.”
Tho Satan tried to control the world thru Yeshua, he has had a “lame duck” administration since Yeshua qualified to rule the world under His Father.
The Greek translations infer that tuphloo means “He has blinded”, rather than “They have blinded”.
Isaiah saw Yeshua in His splendor, Isaiah 6:1,5.
In Acts 17:30-31, Yeshua is shown judging the world.
 Isaiah 5:24—Gabriel Bible
John 13: Before
the Feast of the Passover, Yeshua knew that the time had come for Him to leave this world and return
to His Father. He loved His own people
who were in the world, and He loved them to the end.
2 During supper, Satan had already influenced Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son, to betray Him.
3 Yeshua knew that the Father had put everything under His control
, and that He had come from the Father, and was going back to YHVH.
4 He got up from the supper and laid aside His outer clothing, and took a linen cloth and wrapped it around His waist.
5 Then he poured water into a wash basin and began to wash the feet of His disciples. He wiped them with the linen cloth that He had tied around His waist.
6 When He came to Simon Cephas, Simon asked Him, “Master, are You going to wash my feet?”
7 Yeshua replied, “You don’t comprehend what I am doing now, but later you’ll understand.”
8 Simon Cephas told Him, “You’ll never wash my feet.” Yeshua replied, “Unless I wash you, you’ll have nothing to do with Me.”
9 Then Simon Cephas said, “Master, then don’t just wash my feet but my hands and my head as well.”
10 Yeshua told him, “A person who has had a bath only needs to wash their feet because they are clean everywhere else.” That’s why he said, “You are ‘basically’ clean, tho not all of you are clean.”
11 Yeshua knew who would betray Him, that’s why He said, “Not all of you are clean.”
12 After washing their feet, He put on His outer clothing and reclined at the table again
. Then He asked them, “Do you comprehend what I’ve done for you?
13 You call Me Rabbi and Master, and you’re right because that’s what
14 So if I, your Rabbi and Master, have washed your feet, how much more important is it for
you to wash each other’s feet?
15 I’ve set an example for you, so do what I’ve done for you.
16 I tell you with absolute certainty that no servant is greater than his master, and no messenger
[Gr. apostolos] is greater than the person who sent him.
17 If you understand these things, you’ll be blessed for doing them.
Yeshua Identifies the Traitor
18 “I’m not referring to all of you. I know the ones I’ve chosen, but this fulfills the Scripture, ‘Someone who eats bread with Me has lifted his heel against Me.’
19 I want to tell you this now before it happens, so that when it happens you’ll know that I AM.
20 I am absolutely certain that anyone who welcomes someone I send welcomes Me, and anyone who welcomes Me welcomes the One who sent Me.
21 Yeshua said these things, but He was troubled in spirit and He declared, “I tell you with absolute certainty that one of you is going to betray Me.”
22 The disciples stared at each other, because they didn’t know what He was talking about.
23 One of His disciples, one Yeshua particularly loved, was reclining next to Him.
24 Simon Cephas gestured to him to ask Him who it was that He spoke of.
25 Then that disciple leaned on Yeshua’s chest, and asked Him, “Master, who is it?”
26 Yeshua answered, “It’s the one I give this bread to, once I’ve dipped it.” Then Yeshua dipped the bread, and gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27 After taking the bread, Satan entered into him, and Yeshua told him, “What you’re about to do, do quickly.”
28 But no one else at the table knew why He told him that.
29 Some of them thought that since Judas had the money box, that Yeshua was telling him to buy what they needed for the Feast or that he should give something to the poor.
30 Judas took the piece of bread and immediately left the house. It was night when he left.
31 Yeshua said , “Now the Human Son has been exalted, and YHVH is exalted because of Him.
32 If YHVH is exalted by Him, YHVH Himself will also exalt Him, and will exalt Him immediately.
You Can’t Go Where I Go!
33 “My children, I will only be with you a little longer. You’ll look for Me, but I’m telling you what I told the Jews, ‘You can’t go where I’m going.’
34 I’m giving you a new Commandment : Love each other. You must love each other just as I have loved you.
35 This is how everyone will know that you are My disciples—if you love each other!”
36 Simon Cephas asked Him, “Master, where are You going?” Yeshua told him, “You can’t go where I am going, tho you’ll follow Me at the end [of the age].”
37 Simon Cephas asked Him, “Master, why can’t I go with you now? I would lay down my life for You.”
38 Yeshua replied, “Would you lay down your life for Me? I tell you with absolute certainty that the rooster won’t crow until you have disowned Me three times!”
All of Israel was preparing for the Passover on that Preparation Day.
The Greek adds, “after he had gone out”.
There is nothing new about love (Leviticus 19:18,34 and Mark 12:28-31), yet a new motivation and intensity was stressed (v.35). Yeshua wanted His followers to become a special assembly—noted for their love for each other.
In My Father’s House
“Dont allow your minds to be troubled, believe in YHVH, and believe in Me.
2 There are many dwelling places
in My Father’s house, otherwise, I would have told you. I’m going to prepare a place for you to live
3 If I go to prepare that place for you, I’ll appear publicly
again and accept
you as My own
, so that you can be where I am.
4 You already
know where I’m going, and you already
know the way.”
5 Thomas asked Him, “Master, we don’t know where You’re going, so how could we know the way?”
6 Yeshua told him, “I am
the way, and truth, and the Life, no one comes to My Father other than thru Me.
7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father as well. From now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
8 Philip said, “Master, show us the Father, and it will be enough for us.”
9 Yeshua replied, “Philip, have I been with you all this time, and you still don’t known Me? Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father, so why would you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10 Don’t you believe that I am in My Father, and that My Father is in Me? The words that I’m telling you aren’t of My own initiative
. My Father who lives in Me is doing the work!
11 Believe Me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me. But if not, at least believe because of the works themselves.
12 I tell you with absolute certainty that anyone who believes in Me will also do the works that I do. And they’ll do greater works
than these, because I’m going to My Father.
13 Whatever you ask for in My name
I’ll do for you, so that the Father can be honored thru His Son.
14 If you ask Me for anything
in My name, I’ll do it
Obey My Commandments!
15 “If you love Me, obey My Commandments!
16 I’ll ask My Father, and He’ll give you another Redeemer , and “she” will be with you forever.
17 She is the spirit of truth that the world won’t accept, because it hasn’t seen her and doesn’t know about her, but you know about her, because she remains with you, and is in you.
18 I won’t leave you orphans, because she will come to you in a little while.
19 The world won’t see Me, but you’ll see Me, and because I live you’ll also live.
20 Then you’ll know that I am in My Father, and that you are in Me, and I am in you.
21 Anyone who accepts My Commandments and obeys them is someone who loves Me. My Father will love anyone who loves Me, as will I, and I’ll reveal Myself to them.”
22 Judas, (not Iscariot), asked Him, “Master, how are you planning on revealing Yourself to us and not to the world?”
23 Yeshua replied, “Anyone who loves Me obeys My teachings. My Father will love them, and WE WILL COME TO THEM
and make Our living quarters
[mansion] with them!
24 Yet those who don’t love Me, don’t obey My teachings. The teachings that you hear aren’t mine, but are from
the Father who sent Me.
“She” Will Remind You!
25 “I’m telling you these things while I’m still with you.
26 But the Redeemer, the kadish
spirit, that the Father will send in My name will teach you everything. She will remind you of everything that I have told you.
27 I leave peace with you, I give you My own peace, but not the way the world gives it. Don’t allow your minds to be troubled or fearful.
28 “You heard Me say, ‘I must go away, and come again to you.’ If you really loved Me, you would have been delighted that I am going to the Father, since the Father is greater than I am.
29 Now look, I’ve told you in advance, so that when it happens you will believe.
30 I can’t talk with you much longer, because the ruler of this world is coming, tho he has no power over Me.
31 Yet in order for the world to know that I love My Father, I’m doing what My Father has commanded Me. Get up, let’s leave this place.”
The Aramaic word has been confused with the Greek ‘Paraclitus’, meaning ‘Advocate.’ The Aramaic word is derived from two Aramaic roots: One meaning ‘To finish’ and the other ‘The curse’. (See ‘A Compendious Syriac Dictionary’, page 236, and Oraham’s Dictionary, page 250). So the construct is ‘Redeemer’ or ‘One who ends the curse.’ By the indwelling of the kadosh Spirit, our fallen nature has been redeemed from the curse of Adam.
Aramaic assigns gender to inanimate objects etc, as many languages do. The kadosh (holy) spirit is feminine in Aramaic and Hebrew. In Greek, “autos” is translated as “he, she or it”. Trinitarians opt for “He”.
Both the Father and the Son will come to the person who shows Them love by obeying Their Commandments.
