Everlasting Kingdom: Unraveling the Bible’s Secrets

The Testimony of Yeshua

1st & 2nd Timothy (The Gabriel Version)

Don’t Fall For Myths

Index

1st Timothy 1: From Paul, an envoy of Yeshua (Jesus) Messiah, by the command of Yehovah our Life Giver and of the Messiah, Yeshua our hope, 2 to Timothy, my true son in the faith. Good will, mercy, and peace from Yehovah our Father and the Messiah, Yeshua our Master.

3 When I was on my way to Macedonia, I called you aside and asked that you remain in Ephesus and relay a message demanding that certain people not teach deviating doctrine, 4 and not ‘fall for’ [1] myths and endless tales about genealogies that serve no purpose other to create controversies, rather than promote the faith [conviction of the truth] of Yehovah. 5 Now the aim and purpose [2] of the Commandments is love, coming from a pure inner being and from a clear conscience, and from genuine conviction [faith]. 6 But some of these people have drifted away and have turned to peddling nonsense. 7 They want to be Torah teachers, yet they don’t understand what they’re talking about or anything about their bold assertions.

8 Now we know that the Torah is good when someone lives in accordance with the Torah, 9 and we know that the Torah wasn’t laid down [3] for righteous people, but for the lawless, the rebellious, the wicked, the sinful, the dishonest, the impure and for those who strike their fathers and strike their mothers and for murderers 10 and fornicators and homosexuals and slave traders and liars and perjurers and anything else that is contrary to sound doctrine, 11 according to the magnificent Good News of the blessed Yehovah that I have been entrusted with.

12 I thank the One who empowered me, our Master Yeshua Messiah, who considered me trustworthy, and appointed me into His service, 13 even tho I used to blaspheme and persecute and injure people, yet I received mercy, because I did it in ignorance [4] and unbelief. 14 The compassion of our Master overflowed toward me, along with faith and brotherly love that is found in Yeshua Messiah.

15 Here is a trustworthy statement worthy of complete acceptance: Yeshua Messiah came into the world to Rescue sinners, and I’m the primary example. 16 But this is why He had mercy on me, so that by me, the primary example, Yeshua Messiah could display His great patience, as an example for those He is yet to persuade into eternal Life. 17 Now to the eternal King, incorruptible, and invisible, the only Aloha [God], be honor and praise forever and ever! Aw-main.

18 My son Timothy, this is the announcement that I’m entrusting you to announce, according to the inspired predictions about you, so that ‘armed’ with them you can fight the good fight, 19 holding onto faith and a clear conscience, because those who have thrown them aside have become destitute of faith, 20 like Hymenaeus and Alexander who I have handed over to Satan so that hopefully they’ll learn not to blaspheme.

[1] The literal Aramaic is, “throw themselves into”. [2] About all of the older Greek translations use the antinomian word “end” rather than “aim or purpose or goal”. Yet the Commandments are no more ending than “the end” of “everlasting life” is in Romans 6:22. Same with Romans 10:4, “For Christ is the ‘end’ of the law”, or “the ‘end’ of the Lord”, as in James 5:11. [3] It is quite interesting that the Greek actually says, “laying down the law”, an idiom that is still in our vernacular, meaning: “the principles and regulations established in a community by some authority and applicable to its people, whether in the form of legislation or of custom and policies recognized and enforced by judicial decision” —dictionary.com. [4] This is the best example of ignorance being a true excuse.

Prayer and Thanks

1st Timothy 2: First of all, then, I urge you to make requests to Yehovah: prayers, intercession and giving of thanks for all of humanity, 2 for kings and for everyone in authority, so that we can live our lives in peace and tranquility, with great reverence and honor for Aloha. 3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of Yehovah our Life Giver, 4 who wants everyone to be Rescued from destruction and come to a precise knowledge of the truth. 5 Yehovah is One [1], and there is one Mediator between Yehovah and humanity, namely the man Yeshua Messiah, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for everyone, a testimony that arrived at an opportune time! [2] 7 This is why I have been made a herald and an envoy. I’m telling the truth, this isn’t a deception, because I’m the teacher of the nations with convictions and objectivity.

8 I want people everywhere to pray, lifting up 'special' hands without anger and disputes.

9 Also, women should be dressed with proper clothing, with decency and propriety, not with ornately braided hair or with gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10 but rather by means of good works, as would be expected of women who claim to have reverence for Yehovah.

11 Women should be accustomed to a life of working at home, and not meddling in the affairs of others, and being submissive. 12 I don’t allow a woman to teach, or usurp the authority of men, rather, she should live as a homemaker [3]. 13 Adam was formed first, and then Eve. 14 Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and stepped over the line. 15 Yet women will live [be kept safe and sound] by raising children [4] if they remain in the faith and in love and in dedication and in chastity.

[1] The Aramaic explains the relationship between Yeshua and His Father. The Greek says “one Theos”, rather than “One”. [2] Yeshua was born precisely on time to fulfill the Seventy Weeks Prophecy and specifically on the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles, and He finished His work precisely on the Passover. [3] There is nothing in verses 11-12 that implies that women should be seen and not heard, as so many translations say. [4] The Greek’s “childbearing” covers way too short of a time period. Besides, during childbirth, she is probably not in the mood for brotherly love and chastity.

Reputable Elders

1st Timothy 3: It is a true statement that if a man wants to be an elder, he desires a noble task. 2 Such an elder should be of unassailable character, he should be married to one wife, sensible, virtuous and orderly, hospitable to strangers and able to teach, 3 not addicted to wine or a violent person. He should be gentle rather than quarrelsome, and not in love with money, 4 someone who manages his own household well, with ‘respectful’ children who obey him. 5 If he doesn’t know how to manage his own family well, how can he care for of the assembly of Aloha? 6 He shouldn’t be a neophyte [neophutos] or he might become arrogant and fall under the same condemnation as Satan. 7 He should have a good reputation with those outside the assembly, so that he doesn’t fall into disrepute and into Satan’s snare.

8 Similarly, servants of the assembly should be pure in character, not double talkers or addicted to wine or in love with dishonest gain. 9 They should hang onto the mysteries of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 They should be tested first. Then, if they prove to be blameless, they can serve. 11 Their wives should also be chaste and sensible, faithful in everything, and they shouldn’t be gossips. 12 These servants should only have one wife, and should manage their own children and household well. 13 Those who serve well gain an excellent reputation by their unreserved bold speech [1] about the faith of Yeshua Messiah.

14 I’m writing these things to you, even tho I hope to come and see you soon, 15 but in case I’m delayed, I want you to know how you should conduct yourself in Yehovah’s house, which is the Assembly of the Living Aloha—the pillar and the foundation of the truth. 16 The mystery of righteousness that was revealed in a ‘human body’ is truly great: ‘He’ was made righteous in the spirit, seen by spirit messengers, proclaimed among the nations, acknowledged by the world and taken up to Heaven in splendor.

[1] “Ministers for hire” virtually always fear losing their jobs more than freely expressing any particular truth about the Kingdom that conflicts with their official orthodoxy. Freedom of speech can’t exist in incorporated churches with their teachings carved in stone.

False Teachers

1st Timothy 4: The spirit expressly says that in the latter times some will abandon their convictions of the truth and devote themselves to deceitful spirits and their demonic doctrines. 2 They’ll deceive BY A FALSE APPEARANCE [1], having their own consciences seared as if by a branding iron. 3 They will forbid marriages and require abstinence from meats that Yehovah created to be used with thankfulness by those who believe and understand the truth. 4 Every animal that Yehovah created for food is good, and there is nothing that should be rejected if it is received with thankfulness, 5 because it are 'special', by the Word of Aloha [2] and prayer.

6 If you teach these things to your Friends, you’ll be a good servant of Yeshua Messiah, being educated in the lessons of the faith and by the sound doctrines that you’ve been taught. 7 But you should shun foolish old wives tales and concentrate on being righteous. 8 Exercising the body has a temporary benefit, but righteousness is of value in every way, promising benefits in this lifetime and in the one to come.

9 This is a trustworthy statement deserving of unquestioned acceptance. 10 That is why we’re working so hard and are discredited so much, because we trust in the living Aloha who is the Life Giver of all humanity, and particularly of believers [3].

11 You must teach these things and insist on them. 12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for the believers in your speech and conduct and in love, faithfulness and purity. 13 Until I come, be diligent in [Scripture] reading, prayer [4] and doctrine. 14 Don’t neglect the gift that is in you, that was given to you thru the hand-laying [Aramaic sim-yado] of the elders.

15 Meditate on these things and immerse yourself in them, so that it will be obvious to everyone that you’re making progress. 16 Pay close attention to yourself and to your doctrine, and persevere in them, because by doing so you’ll Rescue your life and the lives of those who listen to you.

[1] The Greek omits “by a false appearance”, but it’s a pretty sure bet that there will be a fake “second coming of Jesus Christ.” [2] in Leviticus 11 [3] This statement is careful not to exclude those not of the faith from being given the opportunity for Life! [4] The Greek says “exhortation”.

Widows

1st Timothy 5: Never reprimand an elder, but call him aside as if he were your father and treat younger men as your brothers, 2 and the older women as mothers, and the younger women as your sisters, with absolute purity.

3 Honor widows who are truly widows. 4 But if a widow has children or grandchildren, they should first learn to show kindness to their own households by repaying their parents, because that is what pleases Yehovah. 5 A widow who is really a widow, and alone, is someone whose hope is in Yehovah, and she is dedicated to prayers and appeals, night and day. 6 But a widow who lives for pleasure is the living dead. 7 Give these instructions so that they’ll have good reputations. 8 If anyone doesn’t provide for their own family, and especially for those of the household of faith, they have rejected their faith and are worse than an unbeliever.

9 Widows put on the list should be no less than sixty years of age, having been the wife of one man, 10 having a reputation for good works, having raised children, having been hospitable to strangers, having washed the feet of the 'special ones' [saints, given relief to the distressed and having dedicated herself to good things of every kind.

11 But keep younger widows off of the list, because their feelings about serving the Messiah would be divided, and they’ll ‘focus on’ being remarried. 12 They would incur mild judgment for having rejected their first pledge. 13 They also learn how to be lazy, wandering from house to house. They’re not only lazy, but they chatter endlessly, doing worthless things and saying things they shouldn’t. 14 I would like to see the younger women get married and have children and manage their homes, rather than allow the adversary any opportunity to ridicule them. 15 Some of them have already been sidetracked, following Satan.

16 If any believing man or woman [1] has needy relatives who are widows, they should support them and not allow them to be a burden on the assembly, so that there will be enough for widows who are really in need.

Elders

17 The elders who moderate [2] well should be be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who carry the burden of teaching the Word and doctrine, 18 because the Scriptures say, “Don’t muzzle an ox while it is threshing grain”, so a laborer deserves his wages! 19 Don’t consider an accusation against an elder unless it is confirmed “by two or three witnesses.” 20 Those who wander from the Torah should be reprimanded in front of everyone, so that the rest of the people will be afraid to sin.

21 I solemnly call on you in Yehovah’s presence, and before our Master Yeshua Messiah and His select spirit messengers, to be careful not to violate these teachings, and not allow your thoughts to be preoccupied by anything, and do nothing out of favoritism for anyone.

22 Don’t quickly lay hand[s] on anyone, and don’t participate in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

23 From now on, don’t just drink water, but drink a little wine for the sake of your stomach and for your recurring ailments.

24 Some people’s sins are quite evident, leading them to the ‘seat’ of judgment, but there are some whose footsteps aren’t traceable until later. 25 Just as the good deeds of some are obvious, those that aren’t won’t be hidden forever.

[1] The Aramaic, and the Majority texts of the Greek manuscripts, and the English versions translated from them, include “men and women” in this verse. [2] Moderator or “proistemi” (pro-is’-tay-mee) is a compound Greek word that literally means: “before” & “to cause or make to stand” ie “in the presence of others, in the midst, before judges, before members of the Sanhedrin” —OBGL.

1st Timothy 6: Anyone who is under the yoke of servitude should highly respect their masters to prevent Yehovah’s name and His doctrine from being blasphemed. 2 Those who have believing masters should be respectful toward them, because they are their Friends. They should be even more obedient, because they are truly faithful and worthy of love. They should benefit from the services of their servants. You should teach and encourage these things.

Teaching for the Money

3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine and refuses to agree with the wholesome instructions of our Master Yeshua Messiah and to doctrine reverential to Aloha, 4 they are conceited and don’t understand anything. Their craving for arguments controversies about words are mentally imbalanced, giving rise to envy, quarreling, slander, a wicked mentality 5 and useless conflicts with others. Their intellects are corrupt and deprived of the truth. They think that true reverence is a money making ‘scheme’. Avoid such things.

6 But we profit greatly from our reverence of Yehovah. We don’t need anything else! 7 We brought nothing into the world and we know that we can’t take anything out of it. 8 As long as we have food and clothing we should be satisfied. 9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many lusts that are foolish and harmful, that plunge them in destruction and ruin, 10 because the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. And there are some who, craving it, have strayed from the faith and brought much grief on themselves.

11 But you, O man of Aloha, must flee from these things and pursue righteousness and equity, faithfulness, love, patience and humility. 12 Fight in the good battle for your faith and take hold of eternal Life. This is why you were called by name, and have declared your honorable testimony before many witnesses. 13 In the presence of Yehovah, who gives life to all, and before Yeshua Messiah who declared His honorable testimony before Pontius Pilate, I insist that 14 you obey this command spotlessly and blamelessly until the appearance of our Master Yeshua Messiah. 15 At the right time, Yehovah will reveal who the blessed and only Sovereign is, the King of kings and the Master of masters 16 who alone has ‘immortality’, living in unapproachable light, who no one has ever seen or even can see. To Him be honor and dominion forever and ever. Aw-main.

17 Impress on the rich of the world not to be arrogant, or trust in their wealth, where there is no security, but on the living Aloha who richly gives us everything we enjoy. 18 They should do good works, be rich in noble deeds, be ready to share and willing to fellowship, 19 so that they store up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so they can take possession of real Life.

20 Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you and avoid discussing useless topics such as the antithetical [Gr. antithesis] theories of pseudoscience, 21 because those who promote them have deviated from the faith. May His compassion be with you. Aw-main.

End of the first letter to Timothy, that was sent out from Laodicea.

Compare the Testimony of Yeshua Version of this book with the 1851 Murdock or the 1849 Etheridge Versions of “The Testimony of Yeshua” (New Testament).

2nd Timothy

2nd Timothy 1: From Paul, an envoy of Yeshua (Jesus) Messiah, by the will of Yehovah, according to the promise of Life that is by Yeshua Messiah,

2 to Timothy my dear son, may compassion, mercy and peace be granted to you from Yehovah our Father and from our Master Yeshua Messiah.

3 I thank Yehovah who I serve with a clean conscience the way my ancestors did, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. 4 I remember your tears and I really want to see you, so that I can be filled with joy. 5 I’m reminded of your genuine faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I’m fully convinced it’s in you as well. 6 So I’m reminding you to rekindle the gift of Yehovah that’s in you thru the laying on of my hands, 7 because Yehovah hasn’t given us a cowardly spirit, but one of power, love and discipline.

Don’t be Ashamed of Yeshua’s Testimony

8 So don’t be ashamed of the Testimony of our Master or of me His bondsman [1], rather, endure the hardships associated with the Good News thru the power of Yehovah, 9 who has Rescued us from perishing and called us by name with a supernatural invitation not because of what we’ve done, but because of His own compassion that was given to us thru Yeshua Messiah before the time [Gr. chronos] of eternity [or “the worlds”]. 10 And now it’s been plainly revealed by the appearance of our Life Giver, Yeshua Messiah, who has abolished death [2] and brought real life and immortality into plain view thru the Good News. 11 For this I’ve been appointed a herald, an envoy, and a teacher of the nations. 12 That’s why I suffer these things. But I’m not ashamed, because I know the One I have believed in, and I’m certain that He is quite capable of safeguarding ‘what has been entrusted to me’ [Aramaic ‘my deposit’] until the day He returns.

13 Contemplate the wholesome doctrines that you’ve heard from me with the conviction and love that comes from Yeshua Messiah. 14 Guard the good deposit via the 'special' spirit that lives in us.

15 You are aware that everyone in Asia minor has deserted me, including Phygellus and Hermogenes.

16 May our Master grant mercy to the family of Onesiphorus, because he often took care of me, and wasn’t ashamed of the chains of my imprisonment. 17 On the contrary, when he came to Rome he diligently searched for me ‘until he’ found me. 18 May he [Onesiphorus] find our Master’s mercy when that day comes. You are very well aware of how he served me in Ephesus.

[1] See why “bondsman” is far better than “prisoner”. Keyword prisoner. [2] This pertains to the resurrection: 1 Corinthians 15:21,50-56, 1 John 3:14, Revelation 20:14, 21:4

2nd Timothy 2: So my son, be strong thru the compassion of Yeshua Messiah. 2 Everything that you’ve heard from me thru many witnesses you should entrust to competent people who are capable of teaching others as well, 3 as a good soldier of Yeshua Messiah endures the suffering. 4 No man who serves as a soldier becomes entangled in the affairs of the world—so that he can please the person who enlisted him. 5 And no one who participates in the games is crowned unless they play by the rules. 6 The farmer should be the first to enjoy the fruit of his labor. 7 Consider what I’m saying. Yehovah will give you wisdom in everything.

8 Remember that Yeshua Messiah was raised from the dead. He was the prophesied descendant of David, according to my Good News 9 that I suffer for, even being put in chains like a criminal, but the Word of Aloha is not imprisoned. 10 So I endure everything for the sake of the select, so that they can also obtain eternal Life thru Yeshua Messiah with eternal splendor.

11 This is a trustworthy saying: If we died with Him we will also Live with Him. 12 If we endure, we will also reign with Him. But if we disown Him, He’ll also disown us. 13 Even if we don’t believe Him, He remains faithful, because He can’t reject Himself.

14 Remind everyone of these truths and ‘warn’ them before Yehovah not to argue over trifling matters, subverting [Gr. katastrophe] those who hear. 15 Endeavor to present yourselves as ‘genuine and perfect’ [Gr. dokimos] before Yehovah, as a worker who isn’t ashamed to teach the Word of Truth. 16 Avoid useless and worthless discussions. They add greatly to the wickedness of those who are preoccupied with them. 17 Their teachings will spread like gangrene [Gr. gaggraina], affecting many. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus. 18 They’ve strayed from the truth by claiming that the resurrection has already happened, and they are undermining the faith of some. 19 But the firm foundation of Yehovah stands, bearing this inscription: “Yehovah knows those who are His”, and “Everyone who mentions Yehovah’s name must renounce wickedness.”

20 In a stately mansion there aren’t only articles of gold or silver, but also wooden items and ceramics. Some of them are extraordinary, but some are ‘quite ordinary’. 21 If someone cleanses themselves of these latter, they will become a valuable instrument, dedicated, useful for Yehovah’s service, and fully equipped for every good work.

Avoid Moronic Debates

22 Run away from youthful lusts and run toward righteousness, conviction, love, and peace in the company of others who call on Yehovah with pure thoughts. 23 But avoid moronic [Gr. moros] debates that exclude instruction, because you know that they breed quarrels. 24 A servant of Yehovah shouldn’t fight, but should be kind to everyone, able to teach, and tolerant of being wronged, 25 gently refuting the errors of opponents in the hope that Yehovah might allow them to change the way they think and act so that they can come to a full knowledge of the truth, 26 and come to themselves,, and escape from Satan’s snare after having been held captive by him to do what he wants.

Diverse Doctrines

2nd Timothy 3: But realize this, that in the last days fiercely difficult times will come. 2 People will be self centered, money loving, pretentious, egotistical, blasphemous, disobedient to their own people [Gr. parents], ungrateful, irreligious, wicked, 3 inhumane, non committal, brutal, despising those who are good, 4 traitors, rash, arrogant, and loving pleasure more than the love of Yehovah. 5 They have something resembling the true worship of Yehovah, but are far from Yehovah’s power [Gr. its power]. Avoid them!

6 Some of these men creep from house to house, captivating feeble minded women who are burdened by their sins and swayed by all kinds of cravings. 7 They are always “learning” but never coming to a correct knowledge of spiritual truth. 8 These men oppose the truth just like Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, men with corrupted intellects—counterfeits with regard to faith [true convictions]. 9 They won’t get very far before their stupidity becomes apparent to everyone, just like Jannes and Jambres’ stupidity became apparent.

Live By the Scriptures!

10 But you have thoroly examined my doctrine, my way of life, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my endurance, 11 and how I was persecuted and suffered in Antioch, in Iconium and in Lystra—the persecution I endured. Yet Yehovah rescued me from it all. 12 ‘Indeed’ anyone whose life is dedicated to Yehovah, ‘and belongs to’ Yeshua Messiah will be persecuted. 13 But wicked people and imposters will grow worse and worse in wickedness, deceiving and being deceived themselves. 14 But you must continue in the things you have learned and found to be true, because you know who you learned it from, 15 and that from your childhood you were taught from the 'special' Writings, ‘things’ that can give you the wisdom to obtain eternal Life, thru faith in Yeshua Messiah. 16 Every Scripture [1] [literally, ‘writing’] that was written by the spirit is profitable for doctrine for proving convictions, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, 17 so that a person of Aloha can become ‘very adept’ and accomplished in every good work.

[1] It is apparent that the Scriptures leading to eternal Life mentioned in vss. 15-16 are referring to the Tanak, mistakenly called the “Old Testament”, since all 50 other references to Scripture/s in the Testimony of Yeshua refer to it, including a twisted interpretation of 2 Peter 3:16. Same goes for “the Word of God” (Elohim). No reference to “the Word of God” includes the Testimony of Yeshua. Look them up!

2nd Timothy 4: I implore you in the presence of Yehovah and our Master Yeshua Messiah, who will judge the living and the dead when His Kingdom appears, 2 to proclaim the Word spontaneously, when the opportunity arrives, and even when it doesn’t! Correct and admonish with the utmost patience and careful instruction. 3 The time is coming when they won’t listen to sound doctrine, but because of their cravings they’ll surround themselves with preachers who will tickle their itching ears! 4 They’ll reject the truth and turn to fiction. 5 But you must be vigilant in everything, endure hardships, and do the work of an ‘assembly planter’ [1], fully carrying out your ministry.

I’m About to Die

6 My blood is about to be offered. The time of my departure is coming. 7 I’ve fought a good fight, I’ve finished my race. I’ve remained faithful. 8 So from now on a crown of righteousness is awaiting me, that our Master, the righteous Judge will compensate me with on that Day, and not only me, but everyone who longs for His return.

Bring the Parchments!

9 Make every effort to come to me quickly, 10 because Demas has left me. In love with this present age, he went to Thessalonica; Crispus went to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. 11 Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he will be helpful for me in this particular service. 12 I sent Tychicus to Ephesus. 13 When you come, bring the book case [2] that I left in Troas with Carpus, the codices [books] and especially the parchment scrolls.

14 Alexander the coppersmith showed bitter hostility towards me. Our Master will compensate him commensurate with his works. 15 You should also beware of him. He’s been strongly opposed to our message.

16 At my first defense, no one sided with me, they all abandoned me. I hope that this isn’t held against them. 17 But my Master stood with me, and strengthened me so that I could finish publishing the proclamation [see root of proclamation], so that every nation could hear it. I was rescued from the mouth of the lion. 18 My Master will rescue me from every evil ‘plot’ and bring me Life in the Heavenly realm. Splendor belongs to Him for ever and ever! Aw-main.

19 Send my greetings to Priscilla and Aquila and Onesiphoros and family. 20 Erastus stayed over in Corinth, and I left Trophimus in the city of Miletus because he was sick. 21 Make every effort to arrive before winter. Eubulus greets you, as does Pudens, Linus, Claudia and all the Friends.

22 May our Master Yeshua Messiah be with your spirit. May His good will be with you. Aw-main.

[1] Euaggelistes: This is one of three places where this form of the word “Evangel” (Good News) appears in the Greek. Religious jargon calls them evangelists. They were “assembly planters” (or “Church planters” as described in Pagan Christianity), carrying the Good News to places where it was previously unknown. Philip appears to have traveled from city to city heralding the teachings (Acts 8:4, 40 & 21:8). Judging from the case of Philip, assembly planters didn’t have the authority of heralds, the gift of prophecy or the responsibility of elders. (See also Ephesians 4:11) [2] The Greek contains a horrible mistranslation. It says “cloak” instead of “book case”. The “parchment scrolls” link in verse 13 explains the great mystery.
