we have had a division in our small assembly because we have had many say we must sacrafice the lamb stay indoors and keep passover that way as well as have the bread and wine to represent Messiah, I didnt do that stayed home and kept passover had the bread and wine, I believe he is my passover lamb, Ive been doing much study trying to figure this all out, enjoyed studying your site very much and it was very helpful , and I feel at peace not sacraficing a lamb, by the way Shabbat Shalom, pray our small congregation can come to some kind of mutual understandings where we can all fellowship again together, Shalom Elizabeth

Since 1965 I have believed essentially the teachings that are now being promoted by Yair Davidiy (a Jew: http://www.britam.org/) and Stephen Collins (a Christian). Their “assumptions” are fairly well linked on my site. A person could spend a lifetime researching the physical descendants of Israel, and they have. When it comes to prophecy, I believe that even they are clueless. For the last year I have been fellowshiping each Sabbath with one of the most established members of the doctrinal committee of the Messianic Israel Alliance (http://www.messianicisrael.com/). Their position is perhaps similar to yours with the “Christian nations” now representing the northern tribes and the Jewish believers representing Judah.
My position is that physical Israel is about to undergo a great purging. Those genetic Israelites who dont want to be a part of the coming Everlasting Kingdom of Israel will simply not survive the Great Tribulation and the Day of Yehovah. And any non Israelite who wants to be a part of the second Exodus will be grafted into the Kingdom with full citizenship and property rights, as was done during the first exodus, Exodus 12:48-49.
Of course anyone who is resurrected at the inauguration of the Everlasting Kingdom will have a rulership position in the Kingdom, regardless of race.
You have to lift Jeremiah 31:33 completely out of context (as in the first 31 chapters) to come up with a fulfilled New Covenant. When that verse is lifted out it certainly sounds warm and fuzzy.

For those who contemplate divisions within the assembly of believers, this is an excellent article; Biblical, well researched and gracious.

You make an excellent case that modern Christian understanding of the new covenant has been replaced by a counterfeit theology, except for one rather large assumption that stands silently testifying against anyone who professes to have wisdom. Any claim that Jeremiah 30 and 31 is entirely unfulfilled is dependant upon the unquestioned assumption that the House of Judah and the House of Israel, to whom the promises and covenants apply are known precisely today. Before you reject this criticism outright, consider it – what if our understanding is wrong, wouldn't that effect whether or not our appreciation prophetic fulfilment was sound?Given that Esther [Esther 8:17] explains why the House of Judah contained non-Israelite converts by the time of Ezra [Ezra 2:59], and inhabitants of the land of Israel were not Israelites [Ezra 4:1], many were Edomites [Oba 1:10-14], which is which is why they opposed the rebuilding of the temple [Ezra 4:6].
Hebrews 8:8 (citing Jeremiah 31:31) says that the Lord would make a new covenant and goes onto say that the new covenant would be made with the same people the Old Covenant was made with – Israel. In fact Jeremiah 31:35-37 goes on to say Israel would never cease to be God's people under any covenant. Clearly knowledge of the continuity of peoples, especially the House of Israel and the House of Judah is essential. Yet even at the time of Jesus the distinction between Israelite Judean and Edomite Judean were blurred. Read [Rev 2:9] and [Rev 3:9].
Herod the Great, king of the Jews was not even an Israelite. He was an Edomite yet deemed to be Judean. Therefore there's large reason to suspect that people today haven't actually got a clue who the House of Israel and the House of Judah is. BTW modern Jews acknowledge, for the most part, that they are not Biblical Israelites, rather 90% of modern Jews are likely Khazar coverts (http://www.khazaria.com).
Although the text is clear the world Christian view is not simply because it doesn't understand what God's plan for both Houses was. The covenant God made with Israel [Exo 19:1-8] was not revoked according to both Jeremiah 30-31 and Paul (Hebrews 8) but Hosea shows us since Israel did not honour the covenant Israel had no right to receive the blessings of the covenant (Hosea 1:9-10) even if the promises were still in place. One covenant blessing many miss is that the name 'Israel' is a consequence of God's promise offered in [Gen 12:2] fulfilled in [Gen 32:28] (the name 'Israel' points back to God, which is how God enlarged the nations that sprang from Abraham, and is also why Isaiah talks about Israel profaning God's name).
When Israel lost the privileges of the covenant, they lost their name as prophesied in [Isa 62:2] (also Rev 2:17 and Rev 3:12). Not surprisingly Hosea prophesied that God covenant people would lose their name. Notice from Hosea 1:9-10 that the House of Israel were to be called Loammi, “not my people”, but were promised salvation in Hosea 2:23 which was the new covenant. The same “not my people” from Hosea 1:9-10 (the House of Israel) were again called my people in Hosea 2:23.
The new covenant has been made in Christ's blood and it was made with the House of Israel [Jer 50:6][Matt 10:6][Matt 15:24][Luke 15:6] except that the House of Israel is unrecognized. The Greek ekkl?sia (???????? – G1577), translated “church”, is the same `edah ( ?·dä' – H5712) described in Hebrew but because they were being sifted through the nations, spoke Greek rather than Hebrew [Amos 9:9][Isaiah 20:28].
How do you know your understanding of who Israel is today is sound? What proof do you have that those you believe are the House of Israel and the House of Judah are in fact, who they say they are?
