Yet Another Big Bang Theory?

Yet Another Big Bang Theory?

YET ANOTHER BIG BANG THEORY?

Will the universe really burn up “after the millennium” as is so often taught?

A WORK IN PROGRESS

Many believe in a future “Big Bang Theory” concerning the physical universe, believing that it will be blown up after the “Last Day” that they presume to be after the thousand years. Their Last Day is far different than the one in Daniel and Revelation.

Have a very close look at all of the “pillars” supporting the 1000 year postponement theory, simultaneously.

I will quote this from the traditional KJV verses that supposedly supports the earth melting away theory, following the thousand years. (It is less controversial than the Gabriel Version used elsewhere):

2 Peter 3:10-13 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. KJV

2 Peter 3:10-13Yet the Day of Yehovah will come like a thieving false “minister in the time of moral stupidity and darkness [1], when the Heavens will suddenly pass by [2] with a great noise; and the former things, will be dissolved by being set on fire; and the surface of the earth and everything being done there, wont be found [3]. 11 Since these things will be dissolved, what kind of people should we be, in sacred conduct, and in practicing the true religion, 12 anticipating and desiring the coming of the Day of Yehovah, when the Heavens being tried in the fire will be dissolved, and the former things being ignited will melt? 13 But we, according to His promise, expect new Heavens, and a New Earth where righteousness dwells.

[1] Perhaps too much is being read into the lexicon’s figurative explanation for the phrase “thief in the night”; but who doesnt equate the darkness of night with evil?

[2] “Parerchomai” could also refer to when the New Heavens will “2) come near, come forward, arrive”.

[3] The Greek says that the earth (land) “will be burned up” instead of “wont be found”. Revelation describes widespread environmental damage, but not utter destruction. Malachi 4:5-6 predicts that Elijah will come and prevent the earth’s being “annihilated”. Matthew 24:29 describes the same type of cosmic events described here, as following the Tribulation, and that is precisely when the Day of Yehovah begins. Hebrews 1:10-12 describes the ultimate renovation of the universe!

First, I urge you to have another look at the whole idea of the earth burning up after the 1000 years. Certainly the context of 2 Peter 3 mentions the 7000 year plan, but it also explains that after the great flood we essentially had a new earth, because the first earth was “destroyed” in the flood (Genesis 9:11). Yet we know that there was only surface damage in this “destruction”. There will be yet another “New” (renewed) Earth. But more importantly, people want to rip the melting idea right out of the context of the Day of Yehovah! This is not some other Day of Yehovah, it is the same one that the other 28 refer to. The elements will melt “at His return”.

Notice the 5 previous references to “melt”, exactly in order from your concordance, before 2 Peter. The melting Scriptures concern the destruction of the earth. When? On or just after the Day of Yehovah:

Ezekiel 22:20-22 As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to MELT it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and MELT you. 21 Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be MELTED in the midst thereof. 22 As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.

Amos 9:5 And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that toucheth the land, and it shall MELT, and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt. ...13 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall MELT.

Nahum 1:5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills MELT, and THE EARTH IS BURNED UP [certainly not entirely here] at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. [context]...15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.

Psalm 46 is all about mountains melting WHEN Yehovah returns, interestingly in the same context it mentions what is undoubtedly New Jerusalem:

Psalm 46:4-6 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the CITY OF [ELOHIM], the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 5 God is in the midst of her [just as in Zech 8:3-“I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem” along with “old men and old women” ] ; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. 6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth MELTED.

Isaiah 64:3 Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down [the “second coming”], that the mountains might flow [MELT] down at thy presence, 2 As when the MELTING fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence! 3 When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

So why assume that this next “melt” Scripture is any different:

2 Peter 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the Word of [Elohim] [a reference to the Tanakh in all 48 instances! See: http://www.everlastingkingdom.info/article/239/the-word-of-aloha--elohim.html ] the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment [Judgment Day] and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the DAY OF [YEHOVAH] will come as a thief in the night [on Trumpets, same end time context as 1 Thes 5]; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the DAY OF [ELOHIM], wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

I am looking for this New Heaven and New Earth to immediately follow “the Day of Yehovah”, “the Day of Elohim”. None of the prophecies of the Tanakh mention a 2 step plan where the greatest event in history is divided by a 1000 year interval. Every single prophecy is in “before” and “after” terminology. There is a great deal of fiery talk about the end times, and it will be horrific, but the planet will not be incinerated.

[As an aside concerning the fiery return: Two very interesting differences that I found while comparing every Greek verse to the Aramaic are found in 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8. The Aramaic is in agreement with 1 Corinthians 15:1-2, about the dead being raised, while the Greek translations only promise “rest”, “relief” or “repose”, at this most critical time. Yet up to hundreds, or even thousands of years in the grave should be enough rest! Then there is a unique (so far as I know) disagreement among translators as to where to put the “burning fire”-some put it in verse 7, others in verse 8. This may stem from an even more important difference-WHO IS IN THE FIRE! The 16 Greek versions I looked at all had Yeshua and the “angels” in the fire, while the four Aramaic versions I checked had the wicked in the fire, as so many prophecies explain, such as Malachi 4:1-3. I think I can guess who is responsible for having Yeshua in the fire, while the dead in Messiah keep on sleeping!]

The very basis of the 1000 year postponement theory is strictly based upon the mention of Satan in Rev 20. The presumption is that since this “footnote” mentions what will happen to Satan in a thousand years, that everything else in the book of Revelation following that mention, must necessarily also be after a thousand years. It’s an interesting question, but is there any internal evidence to support that in the rest of the Revelation? For that matter, is there a postponement mentioned anywhere else in Scripture. This postponement is no more valid than the Jewish efforts to postpone the Sacred Days. But this appointed time will not be postponed.

Let’s look for some internal evidence. Proponents had a bit of help in verse 5.

Revelation 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Remember that Judgment Day seems to be postponed here, but this is a very rare addition to the inspired text, not found in the earliest Syriac and Aramaic manuscripts, or the earliest Greek manuscripts, such as the Codex Sinaitic and Codex Alexandrine. While the Aramaic closely follows the Majority texts, the tampered with texts do verify that they were written before the insertion of a postponed Judgment Day into the next generation texts.

Judgment Day is not divided by 1000 years. Both the first and second resurrection clearly occur at the end of this age. Judgment Day will be a time of final Judgment, not only for many of the living during this year, but also for all of those who have ever lived in the past:

Daniel 12:1-2 ... there shall be a time of trouble ... and “many” [literally "an abundant number”] of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, ’SOME’ to everlasting life, ’SOME’ to shame and everlasting contempt.

“Some” would better be translated as “these” or “those” (Strong’s #0428): “... these to everlasting life and those to shame and everlasting contempt”. John quoted Yeshua on this same topic:

John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which ALL that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

That whole thing about the Father hanging out alone in heaven for a thousand years also appears to be quite unscriptural to me, as explained here: http://www.everlastingkingdom.info/article/120/yehovah-and-his-messiah.html In what I believe to be the most revealing Judgment account, both Father and Son are present-no 1000 year long delay:

Daniel 7: I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the ANCIENT OF DAYS did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire... 13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the SON OF MAN came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the JUDGMENT was set, and the BOOKS were opened [as in Revelation].

These quotes are ALL about the very same event: the Great White Throne Judgment Day.

Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the BOOKS were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were JUDGED out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Here is more internal evidence that Revelation 21 is in the same context as the rest of the book:

Revelation 21:2 I saw the sacred city, the New Jerusalem, descending from Yehovah out of the sky, like a fiancee [or bride]made ready for her husband. 3 I heard a great voice from the sky, that said, “Look, the tabernacle [dwelling place] of Yehovah is with humanity [anthropos]. He lives with them; they will be His people; and Yehovah will be with them, yes Yehovah Himself will be with them”. GV

We are STILL talking about the BRIDE. This isnt about some 1000 year old news!

Next verse:

Revelation 20:4 And God shall WIPE AWAY ALL TEARS from their eyes; and there shall be NO MORE DEATH [for those in the city], neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Exactly when is this talking about? Isnt it for people living into the very beginning of the Kingdom?

Isa 25:6-9 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. 7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. 8 He will SWALLOW UP DEATH in victory; and the Lord GOD will WIPE AWAY TEARS from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. 9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

In Revelation 21:9 we are still talking about the end time players:

9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

I see no indication that the context has taken a giant leap into the future.

Backtracking a bit back to the 144,000 we read:

Re 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

Does this mean we are reading about spirit born beings? Couldnt this JUST be an association with what Isaiah explained?

Isaiah 49:8-12 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; 9 That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. 10 They shall not HUNGER nor THIRST; neither shall the HEAT NOR SUN smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. 11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted. 12 Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.

I dont see the remotest chance for a 1000 year long postponement of anything from any Scriptures, nothing I’ve seen even needs any explanation beyond the immediate context.

I have spent quite a bit of time pondering this:
