The FIRST letter of John the emissary*

Introduction

1st John 1: WE announce to you that, which was from the beginning that we have heard, and have seen with our eyes, looked upon, and handled with our hands, that which is the word of life. 2 Life was manifested, and we have seen and do testify and announce to you, the life that is eternal that was with the Father, and was revealed to us. 3 What we have seen and heard, we make known to you also, that you may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Yeshua the Messiah. 4 These things we write to you, that our joy in you may be complete. 5 This is the announcement, which we have heard from him and declare to you, that Yehovah’ is light, and no darkness at all is in him. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and we walk in the darkness, we are liars, and walk not in the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with each other and the blood of Yeshua his Son cleanses us from all our sins. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all our iniquity. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not with us.

1st John 2: My children, these things I write to you, that you sin not. But if any one should sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Yeshua the Messiah, the righteous. 2 He is the *atoning sacrifice* for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the entire world. 3 By this we will be sensible that we know him, if we keep his Commandments. 4 For he that says, I know him, and doesnt keep his Commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But he that keeps his word, in him is the love of Yehovah truly completed: for by this we know that we are in him. 6 He that says, I am in him, is bound to walk according to his walkings. 7 My beloved, I write no new Commandment to you, but the old Commandment which you had from the beginning; and the old Commandment is the word, which you have heard. 8 Again, a new Commandment I write to you, which is true in him and in you; because the darkness has passed away, and the true light begins to appear. 9 Whoever so will say that he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. 10 He that loves his brother, abides in the light, and in him is no stumbling. 11 But he that hates his brother, is in darkness, and walks in darkness; and he knows not where he goes, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 12 I write to you, you children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake. 13 I write to you, you fathers, because you have known him who existed from the beginning. I write to you, you young men, because you have vanquished the evil one. 14 I have written to you, you little ones, because you have known the Father. I have written to you, you fathers, because you have known him who was from the beginning, I have written to you, you young men, because you are strong, and the word of Yehovah dwells in you, and you have vanquished the evil one. 15 Love not the world, nor any thing in it; for whoever loves the world, has not the love of the Father in him. 16 For all that is in the world, is, the lust of the body, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of the world; which are not from the Father, but from the world itself. 17 The world is passing away, both it and the lust thereof; but he that does the pleasure of Yehovah, abides forever. 18 My children, it is the latter time; and as you have heard that a false Messiah was to arise, so there are now many false Messiahs; and from this we know that it is the latter time. 19 From us they went out, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us: but they went out from us, that so it might be known, that they were not of us. 20 But you have an unction from the Holy One; and you discriminate every person. 21 I have not written to you, because you know not the truth, but because you know it, and because no falsehood is of the truth. 22 Who is false, but he that denies that Yeshua is the Messiah? And that person is a false Messiah. He that denies the Father, denies also the Son. 23 The that denies the Son, also believes not the Father. He that confesses the Son, confesses also the Father. 24 What you heard from the first, let that remain with you. For if that, which you heard from the first, remains with you, you also will remain in the Father and in the Son. 25 This is the promise, which he has promised us, even eternal life. 26 These things I have written to you, on account of those who seduce you. 27 You also, if the unction which you have received from him remains in you, need not that any one should teach you; but as that unction is from Yehovah, it teaches you all things; and it is true, and no falsehood is in it. And as it has taught you, remain you in him. 28 Now, my children, remain in Him; that so, when He will be manifested, we may not be ashamed before Him, but may have an open countenance at His coming. 29 If you know that he is righteous, you also know, that whoever does righteousness, is from him.

1st John 3: And you see, how great is the love of the Father towards us, who has called us sons, and made us such. so the world knows us not, because it likewise knows him not. 2 My beloved, now are we the sons of Yehovah; and hitherto, it has not appeared what we are to be: but we know that, when he will appear, we will be in his likeness, and we will see him as he is. 3 Everyone who has this hope from him, purifies himself, as he is pure. 4 Everyone who *wanders from the way of righteousness* [266] is *breaking the Law* [458]; for all sin is *breaking the Law* [458]. 5 You know, that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him was no sin. 6 Everyone WHO abides in him, sins not: and every one that sins, has not seen him, nor has known him. 7 My children, let no one deceive you: he that does righteousness, is righteous, as the Messiah also is righteous. 8 He that commits sin, is of Satan; because Satan was a sinner from the beginning: and for this cause, the Son of Yehovah appeared, that he might destroy the works of Satan. 9 Everyone that is born of Yehovah, doesnt practice sin; because his seed is in him, and he cannot sin, because he is born of Yehovah. 10 By this are the children of Yehovah disaccused from the children of Satan. Everyone who doesnt practice righteousness, and who doesnt love his brother, is not of Yehovah: 11 because this is the Commandment, which you have heard from the beginning, that you should love each other. 12 Not like Cain, who was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And why did he slay him, but because his own works were evil, and those of his brother righteous? 13 Dont wonder, brethren, if the world hate you. 14 We know that we have turned from death to life, by this, that we love the brethren. He that loves not his brother, remains in death. 15 for every one that hates his brother, is a man-slayer; and you know, that no man-slayer can have eternal life abiding in him. 16 By this we know his love towards us, because he gave up his life for us:. and we also should give up our lives for our brethren. 17 But whoever has worldly possessions, and sees his brother in want, and shuts up his love* [1] from him, how is the love of Yehovah in him? 18 My children, let us not love one another in words and in tongue, but in acts and in truth. 19 By this, we recognize that we are of the truth; and, before he will come, we make our hearts confident. 20 But if our mind condemns us, how much greater is Yehovah than our heart, and knowing all things? 21 Beloved, if our mind condemns us not, we have open countenances before Yehovah. 22 Whatever we ask, we receive from him; because we keep his Commandments, and do acceptable things before him. 23 This is his Commandment, that we believe on the name of his Son Yeshua the Messiah, and that we love one another as he has commanded us. 24 He that keeps his Commandments, is kept by him, and he dwells in him: and by this we understand that he abides in us, from his Spirit which he has given to us.

1st John 4: My beloved, dont believe every spirit; but discriminate among spirits, as to whether they are of Yehovah; for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this the Spirit of Yehovah is known, every spirit that confesses that Yeshua the Messiah has come in the flesh, is of Yehovah. 3 Every spirit that doesnt confess that Yeshua the Messiah has come in the flesh, is not of Yehovah; but He is of the false Messiah, of who you have heard that he comes, and now is he already in the world. 4 But you children, are of Yehovah; and you have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you, than he who is in the world. 5 They are of the world: so they speak from the world, and the world hears them. 6 But we are of Yehovah; and he that knows Yehovah, hears us; and he that is not of Yehovah, hears us not. By this, we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 7 My beloved, we must love each other, because love is from Yehovah, and whoever loves is engendered [1080] by Yehovah and understands [1097] Yehovah. 8 Because Yehovah is love; and whoever doesnt love, doesnt know Yehovah. 9 By this was the love of Yehovah towards us made known, because Yehovah sent His only-begotten Son into the world, that we by Him might live. 10 In this is love; it was not that we loved Yehovah, but that Yehovah loved us, and sent His Son an *atoning sacrifice* for our sins. 11 My beloved, if Yehovah has so loved us, we also should love one another. 12 No one has ever seen Yehovah; but if we love one another, Yehovah abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. 13 By this we know, that we abide in him and that he abides in us, because He has given of His Spirit to us. 14 We have seen, and do testify, that the Father has sent his Son, a Redeemer for the world. 15 Whoever confesses Yeshua to be the Son of Yehovah, Yehovah abides in him, and he abides in Yehovah. 16 We have believed and known the love, which Yehovah has towards us: for Yehovah is love, and whoever abides in love, abides in Yehovah. 17 This is how His love is perfected in us; so that we may have open countenances on Judgment Day; because as he was, so also are we in this world. 18 In love there is no fear; but perfect love casts out fear; because fear exists in peril, and he who fears is not perfected in love. 19 Let us, so, love Yehovah; because he has first loved us. 20 If anyone says, I love Yehovah, but he hates his brother, he is a liar. If he doesnt love his brother, who is visible, how can he love Yehovah who is invisible? 21 This command we have received from him, that whoever loves Yehovah, must also love his brother.

1st John 5: Whoever believes that Yeshua is the Messiah, is engendered* [1080] by Yehovah. Whoever loves the begetter, loves the One who is begotten of Him. 2 By this we know, that we love the children of Yehovah, when we love Yehovah, and follow his Commandments. 3 For this is the love of Yehovah, that we keep His Commandments; and His Commandments are not burdensome. 4 Because, whoever is born of Yehovah, overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. 5 For who is he that overcomes the world, but he who believes that Yeshua is the Son of Yehovah? 6 This is he who came by the water and the blood. Yeshua the Messiah; not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. The Spirit testifies; because the Spirit is truth. 7 The Spirit testifies that that very Spirit is true [1]. 8 There are three witnesses, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three are in union. 9 If we receive the testimony of men, how much greater is the testimony of Yehovah? And this is the testimony of Yehovah, that He has testified concerning his Son. 10 Whoever believes in the Son of Yehovah, has that Yehovah has testified concerning his Son. 11 This is the testimony, that Yehovah has given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Every one that takes hold of the Son, takes hold of life; and every one that takes not hold of the Son, has not life. 13 These things have I written to you, that you may know that you have eternal life, you who believe in the name of the Son of Yehovah. 14 This is the confidence that we have towards him, that whatever we ask of him, agreeably to his will, he hears us. 15 If we are persuaded that he hears us respecting what we ask of him, we are confident of receiving presently the petitions which we asked of him. 16 If anyone sees his brother sin a sin which doesnt deserve death, he will ask, and life will be given him, to them I say who sin not as to death. For there is a sin of death; and I do not say of this, that a man should pray for it. 17 For all iniquity is sin; and there is a sin which is not of death. 18 We know, that every one who is born of Yehovah, sins not: for he that is born of Yehovah keeps himself, and the evil one touches him not. 19 We know, that we are of Yehovah; and all the world is reposing on the evil one. 20 We know that the Son of Yehovah has come, and has given us knowledge that we might know the True One; and that we might be in the True One, in his Son Yeshua the Messiah. He is the true Yehovah, and the eternal life. 21 My children, keep yourselves from idolatry.

2nd John

THE Elder, to Kuria the elect, and to her children: who I love in the truth, and not I only, but all they who know the truth; 2 for the sake of the truth, which abides in us and is with us forever. 3 May *merciful kindness* be with you, and mercy, and peace, from Yehovah the Father, and from our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. 4 I have rejoiced greatly, that I found some of your children, who walked in the truth, as we have received Commandment from the Father. 5 Now, I implore you, Kuria, (I write no new Commandment to you, but that which was with us from the beginning,) that we should love one another. 6 This is love, that we walk according to the Commandment. This is the Commandment, as you have heard from the beginning, that we should walk in it. 7 Because many seducers have gone forth into the world, who confess not that Yeshua the Messiah has come in the flesh. This is a seducer and Antichrist. 8 Take heed to yourselves, that you dont lose what you have done; but that you may receive full compensation*. 9 Everyone who transgresses, and doesnt abide in the doctrine of the Messiah, Yehovah is not in him. And he who abides in His doctrine has the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you, and doesnt bring this doctrine, dont entertain him in your house, nor say to him, Joy to you: 11 for he who says to him, Joy to you, is a participator in his evil deeds. 12 Having many things I could write to you, I would not with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you, and to converse face* to face, that our joy may be complete. 13 The children of your Select sister salute you. *merciful kindness* be with you. Amen.

The THIRD letter of John the emissary*

THE Elder, to my beloved Gaius, who I love in the truth. 2 Our beloved; in all things, I pray for you that you may prosper and be in health, as your soul does prosper. 3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified concerning your integrity, even as you walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy, than to hear that my children walk in the truth. 5 Our beloved, you do in faith, what you perform towards the brethren; and especially towards strangers, 6 who have borne testimony of your charity before the whole Assembly, to who you do good, as is pleasing to Yehovah. 7 For they went forth in behalf of His name, taking nothing of the Nations. 8 We so should receive such persons, that we may be aids of the truth. 9 I was desirous of writing to the Assembly; but he who loves to be foremost among them, Diotrephes, receives us not. 10 so, if he come, remember those his doings, that he treated us with malignant words; and this not sufficing him, he received not the brethren; and those who would receive them, he prohibited, and even ejected them from the Assembly. 11 Our beloved, dont be a follower of what is evil, but of what is good. He who does good, is of Yehovah; but he who does evil, has not seen Yehovah. 12 Of Demetrius, there is good testimony from everyone, and from the Assembly, and from the truth itself: and we also bear His testimony, and you know that our testimony is true. 13 I had many things to write to you; but I will not write them to you with ink and pen. 14 But I hope to see you soon, and to converse face* to face. 15 Peace be with you. The friends salute you. Salute the friends, severally, by name.
