The Testimony of Yeshua

1st & 2nd TIMOTHY (Gabriel Version)

Index
Introduction

1st Timothy 1: From Paul, an envoy of Yeshua the Messiah, by the will of Yehovah our Life Giver and of the Messiah, Yeshua our hope,
2 to Timothy, my true son in the faith. May compassion, mercy and peace from Yehovah our Father and the Messiah, Yeshua our Master be yours.
3 When I was on my way to Macedonia, I called you aside and asked that you remain in Ephesus and relay a message demanding that certain people not teach doctrines that differ from the original, 4 and not to “fall for” [1] myths and endless genealogies that serve no purpose other than create controversies, rather than building up our devout convictions regarding Yehovah. 5 Now the aim and purpose [2] of the Commandments is love, coming from a pure mind and from a clear conscience and from belief without hypocrisy. 6 But some of these people have drifted away and have turned to speaking absurdities. 7 They are ambitious to become Torah teachers, yet they dont understand what they are saying or anything about their confident assertions.
8 Now we know that the Torah is precious if and when someone lives in accordance with the Torah, 9 and we know that the Torah isnt laid down [3] against those who observe righteous laws, but against the lawless, the rebellious, the wicked, the sinful, the dishonest, the impure, and against those who strike their fathers and those who strike their mothers, against murderers, 10 male prostitutes, sodomites, against those who kidnap for slavery, liars, those who violate oaths, and against anything that is contrary to sound doctrine, 11 and anything else that is NOT [4] in accord with the magnificent Good News of the blessed Yehovah that I have been entrusted with.
12 I thank the One who empowered me, our Master Yeshua the Messiah, who considered me to be a believer, and put me into His service, 13 tho I previously blasphemed and persecuted and injured people, yet I was shown mercy, because I did it in ignorance [5], in my unbelief. 14 The compassion of our Master came to me in superabundance, conferring conviction on me and brotherly love, that is by Yeshua the Messiah.
15 Here is a trustworthy statement deserving of complete acceptance: Yeshua the Messiah came into the world to Rescue sinful people from perishing, and I’m a primary example. 16 But this is why He had mercy on me, so that by me, a primary example, Yeshua the Messiah could display His great patience, as an example for those He would persuade to obtain eternal Life in the future. 17 Now to the immortal and invisible and incorruptible King of the Ages, the only Aloha, be honor and praise forever and ever! Aw-mane’.
18 My son Timothy, this is the announcement that I’m entrusting you to announce, according to the inspired predictions that were previously given to me concerning you, so that armed with them you can fight the good fight. 19 Hold onto your convictions with a clear conscience, because those who have thrown them aside have made a shipwreck of their faith, 20 like Hymenaeus and Alexander who I have handed over to Satan so that hopefully they’ll learn not to be blasphemers.

[1] literally, “throw yourselves into” [2] Most versions say “end” rather than “aim or purpose or goal” (or design: Aramaic). Yet the Commandments are no more ending than, “the ‘end’ everlasting life” is in Romans 6:22. Same with Romans 10:4, “For Christ is the ‘end’ of the law”, or “the ‘end’ of the Lord”, in James 5:11. [3] I find it quite interesting that this literal Greek expression, “laying down the law”, is still in our vernacular, meaning: “the principles and regulations established in a community by some authority and applicable to its people, whether in the form of legislation or of custom and policies recognized and enforced by judicial decision” —dictionary.com. [4] The Greek lacks this negative, tho Weymouth did see the deficiency and just stuck it in. [5] This is a primary example of ignorance being a true excuse.

1st Timothy 2: I request of you, first of all, that you present Yehovah with supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thankfulness on behalf of all of humanity, 2 particularly for kings and magistrates, so that we can live our lives in peace and tranquility, with great reverence for Aloha and with purity. 3 This is right and pleasing in the sight of Yehovah our Life Giver, 4 whose strong desire is for everyone to be Rescued from destruction and come to a precise knowledge of the truth. 5 Yehovah is one [1], and there is one Mediator between Yehovah and humanity—Yeshua the Messiah, a Man Himself, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for everyone, attested to by His own fixed and opportune timing! [2] 7 This is why I have been made a herald and an envoy. I’m telling the truth, this isnt a deception because I’m the teacher of the nations with convictions and objectivity.
8 I wish that men everywhere would pray, lifting up dedicated hands that are unstained with anger and doubts.
9 Also, women should be dressed in sensible clothing, that is, modesty dressed and chaste, not with ornately braided hair, or with gold, or with pearls, or with costly clothing, 10 but with good works, as would be expected of women who profess reverence for Yehovah.
11 Women should be accustomed to a life of working at home and not meddling in the affairs of others and being submissive. 12 Dont allow women to be doctrinal instructors or exercise dominion over men, rather, they should live as homemakers [3]. 13 Adam was molded first, and then Eve. 14 Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became involved with infringing against the law. 15 Yet a woman will be kept safe and sound by raising children [4], if she continues to believe and has brotherly love and dedication and chastity.

[1] The Aramaic explains the relationship between Yeshua and His Father. The Greek says “one Theos”, rather than “one”. [2] Yeshua was born precisely on time to fulfill the Seventy Weeks Prophecy and specifically on the Feast of Trumpets and He departed precisely on the Passover. [3] There is nothing in verses 11-12 that implies that women should be seen and not heard, as so many translations say, yet their predominant role in life isnt to include being an elder, or presiding over the activities of a local assembly. [4] The Greek’s “childbearing” covers way too short of a time period. Besides, during childbirth, she is probably not in the mood for brotherly love and chastity.

1st Timothy 3: It is a true statement, that if a man aspires to be an elder, he desires an honorable task. 2 Such an organizer should be of irreproachable character, he should be married to one wife, sensible, virtuous and orderly, hospitable to strangers, having a gift for teaching, 3 not addicted to wine or a violent person, but he should be gentle rather than quarrelsome, not in love with money, 4 someone who guides his own household well, his children being respectful and under control. 5 If he doesnt know how to manage his own family well, how can he take care of the assembly of Aloha? 6 He shouldnt be a neophyte [neophutos], or he might become arrogant, and come under the same condemnation as Satan. 7 He should have a good reputation from those outside, so that he doesnt fall into disgrace and into Satan’s snare.
8 Similarly, servants should be pure in character, not double talkers, or addicted to wine, or in love with money. 9 They should hang onto the mysteries of the Kingdom with an untainted conscience. 10 They should be tested first, and when found to be above reproach, then allow them to serve.
11 Their wives should also be chaste and sensible, faithful in everything, and they shouldnt be slanderers.
12 These servants should only have one wife each, and should manage their own children and household well. 13 Those who serve well are purchasing their wholesome influence by their unreserved freedom of speech [1] about our convictions concerning Yeshua the Messiah.
14 I’m writing these things to you, tho hoping to come and see you soon, 15 but in case I’m delayed, I want you to know how you should conduct yourself in Yehovah’s house, that is the assembly of the Living Aloha. The pillar and the foundation of the truth. 16 The mystery of righteousness that was revealed in the flesh is truly great, made righteous in the spirit, seen by spirit Messengers, proclaimed among the Nations, acknowledged by the world and received in an exalted state.

[1] “Ministers for hire” virtually always fear losing their jobs more than freely expressing any particular truth about the Kingdom that conflicts with their official orthodoxy. Freedom of speech cant exist in incorporated churches with their teachings carved in stone.

1st Timothy 4: The spirit explicitly says that in the latter times, some will renounce their convictions of the truth and devote themselves to impersonating spirits, and their demonic doctrines. 2 They’ll teach lies as if they were actors on a stage, BY A FALSE APPEARANCE [1], having their own consciences seared as with the mark of a branding iron. 3 They will forbid marriages, and will require abstinence from meats that Yehovah created to be used with thankfulness, by those who believe and understand the truth. 4 Every animal that Yehovah created for food is good, and there is nothing that should be rejected if it be received with thankfulness, 5 because it is made pure by the Words of Aloha [2] and by prayer.
6 If you remind your Friends of these things, you’ll be a good servant of Yeshua the Messiah, being nourished in the lessons of the faith, and by the sound doctrines that you’ve been taught. 7 But you should shun silly old wives tales and concentrate on being reverent. 8 Exercising the body has a temporary benefit, but righteousness is entirely profitable, benefiting you in this lifetime and in the one to come.
9 That is a trustworthy statement and worthy unquestioned acceptance. 10 That is why we’re working so hard and are discredited so much, because we trust in the living Aloha who is the Life Giver of all mankind, and particularly of the faithful [3].
11 Relay these instructions and discuss them. 12 Dont allow anyone to disregard you due to your youth, but be an example for the faithful in your speech and conduct and in love, faith and purity. 13 Till I come, be diligent in reading, prayer [4] and doctrine. 14 Dont neglect the gifts that were given to you, emanating from pure inspiration, since the hands of the body of elders were laid on you.
15 Meditate on these things and be absorbed by them so that it will be obvious to everyone that you are making progress. 16 Pay attention to yourself and to your doctrine. Persevere in these things, because by doing so you’ll make certain that you and those who listen to you will be Rescued from perishing.

[1] The Greek omits “by a false appearance”. It’s a pretty sure bet that there will be a fake “second coming of Jesus Christ”. [2] in Leviticus 11 [3] This statement is careful not to entirely exclude those not of the faith from being given the opportunity for Life! [4] The Greek says “exhortation”.

1st Timothy 5: Never criticize an older man, but call him aside as if he were your father, and younger men as brothers, 2 and the older women as mothers, and the younger women as your sisters, with absolute purity.
3 Honor widows who are truly widows. 4 But if a widow has children, or grandchildren, they should first learn to show kindness to their own households and to repay the obligations to their parents, because that is what pleases Yehovah. 5 A widow who is really a widow, and alone, awaits eternal Life from Yehovah and she perseveres in prayers and appeals, night and day. 6 Tho a widow who lives for pleasure is as good as dead. 7 Relay this message so that they can be blameless. 8 If anyone doesnt care for their own dependents and especially for those who are of the household of Yehovah, they’ve rejected their convictions and are worse than an unbeliever.
9 No widow is to be enrolled who is under sixty years of age, and only if she has been the wife of one man, 10 has a reputation of doing good works, has raised children, been hospitable to strangers, has washed the feet of faithful, given relief to the distressed and devoted herself to beneficial things of every kind.
11 Dont enroll the younger widows, because they would become impatient in service to the Messiah, and want to be married. 12 They would incur mild disapproval for not having the character of someone who can be relied on. 13 At the same time they learn idleness, wandering from house to house, they’re not only idle, but they chatter endlessly, and are busybodies who say things they shouldnt. 14 I would like to see young women get married and have children and manage their households, rather than allow the adversary any opportunity to ridicule them. 15 Some of them have already been sidetracked, following Satan.
16 If any believing man or woman [1] has relatives who are widows, they should support them, and not allow them to be a burden on the assembly, so that there will be enough for those who are really in need.
17 The elders who moderate [2] well should be be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who carry the burden of being accountable for explanations in reference to judgment and doctrine, 18 after all the Scriptures say, “Dont muzzle an ox while it is threshing grain” and “A laborer deserves appropriate wages”. 19 Dont consider a complaint against an elder unless two or three witnesses present evidence. 20 Those who wander from the Torah should be lectured in front of everyone to cause the rest of the people to be reverential.
21 I solemnly call on you, in Yehovah’s presence, and before our Master Yeshua the Messiah and His select spirit Messengers, that you be careful not to violate these teachings and not allow your thoughts to be preoccupied by anything prejudicial and do nothing just to be accepted by a particular group.
22 Dont quickly lay hands on anyone and dont participate in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.
23 From now on dont just drink water, but drink a little wine for the sake of your stomach and for your recurring ailments.
24 Some people’s sins are are quite evident, unveiling their sentencing on Judgment Day, but there are some whose footsteps arent traceable until later. 25 Just as the good deeds of some are obvious, while others dont have the ability to keep their deeds concealed forever.

[1] The Aramaic, and the most accurate texts of the Greek manuscripts and the English versions translated from them, include men and women in this verse. [2] Moderator or “proistemi” (pro-is’-tay-mee) is a compound Greek word that literally means: “before” & “to cause or make to stand” ie “in the presence of others, in the midst, before judges, before members of the Sanhedrin” —OBGL.

1st Timothy 6: Anyone who is under the yoke of servitude should acknowledge the leadership of their masters, to prevent Yehovah’s name and His doctrine from being blasphemed. 2 Those who have believing Masters shouldnt treat them disrespectfully, and because they are their Friends, they should be even more obedient, because they are truly faithful and worthy of love. They should benefit from the services of their servants. You should teach and encourage these things.
3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine and refuses to consent to the wholesome instructions of our Master Yeshua the Messiah and to doctrine in reverence to Aloha, 4 they are puffed up with pride and have no true knowledge. Their arguments are mentally imbalanced, giving rise to envy, quarreling, slander, wicked thoughts, 5 and conflicts between men whose intellects are corrupt and distanced from the truth, and who suppose that true reverence is a money making scheme. Stay completely away from such people.
6 But we profit greatly from our reverence. We dont need anything else! 7 We brought nothing into the world and we know that we cant carry anything out of it. 8 As long as we have food and clothing we should be satisfied. 9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many lusts that are foolish and harmful, that plunge them in destruction and ruin, 10 because the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. And there are some who, craving it, have strayed away from their convictions and brought on themselves many sorrows.
11 But you, O man of Aloha, flee from these things, and pursue righteousness, and equity, faithfulness, love, patience, and humility. 12 Work very hard in the honorable struggle for your convictions of the truth and Rescue your genuine eternal Life from peril. This is why you were called by name, and declared your honorable testimony before many witnesses. 13 In the presence of Yehovah, who gives life to everything, and before Yeshua the Messiah who declared His honorable testimony before Pontius Pilate, I transmit the message: 14 You should KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS [1] spotlessly and blamelessly until the epiphany [Gr. epiphaneia: return] of our Master Yeshua the Messiah. 15 At the time of crisis, Yehovah will demonstrate who the blessed and only Sovereign is, the King of kings and the Master of masters 16 who alone has immortality, living in unapproachable light, who no one has ever seen or even can see. To Him be honor and dominion forever and ever. Aw-mane’.
17 Impress on the rich in the world not to be arrogant, or have high expectations in their wealth, where there is no security, but in the living Aloha who richly gives us everything we enjoy. 18 They must perform good works, be rich in noble deeds, be ready to share and willing to fellowship, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they can take possession of real life.
20 Timothy, guard the truths entrusted to you and avoid discussing useless topics such as the antithetical [Gr. antithesis] theories of pseudoscience, 21 because those who promote them have deviated from the convictions of the truth. May His compassion be with you. Aw-mane’.

[1] Of the 71 times that Commandments is used, only the reference in Mark 10:5 specifies a singular Commandment. Of the 19 Greek translations I checked, only Weymouth was willing to translate this without antinomian bias—in the PLURAL form. Using the singular here totally negates the point that we must obey all of the Commandments, a point that far too many want to negate. Nothing in the context mentions some singular Commandment. This is another proof that virtually every translation is just a revision of the Tyndale Bible, as in his “thou kepe the comaundemet”, or a revision of another revision. Either that, or they all just happened to make the same indefensible mistake!

End of the FIRST letter to Timothy, that was sent out from Laodicea.

2nd Timothy

2nd Timothy 1: Paul, an envoy of Yeshua the Messiah by the will of Yehovah, in accord with the promise of Life that is thru Yeshua the Messiah,
2 to Timothy my beloved son, may compassion, mercy, and peace be granted to you from Yehovah our Father and from our Master Yeshua the Messiah.
3 I thank Yehovah who I serve the way my ancestors did—with a pure conscience—when I continually remember you in my prayers, night and day. 4 I remember your tears and I have longed to see you so that I can be filled with joy. 5 I remember you and your genuine faith that first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and I’m fully convinced it’s in you as well. 6 So I’m reminding you to rekindle the gift of Yehovah that’s in you thru the laying on of my hands, 7 because Yehovah hasnt given us a spirit of cowardice, but one of power, love and discipline.
8 So dont you be ashamed of the Testimony of our Master or of me His bondsman [1], but rather, endure the hardships associated with the Good News, thru the power of Yehovah, 9 who will Rescue us from perishing, having called us by name with a pure invitation, not because of our works but because of His will and His compassion that was given to us in Yeshua the Messiah before the time [chronos] of eternity, 10 and has now been plainly revealed by the epiphany [Gr. epiphaneia: appearance] of our Life Giver, Yeshua the Messiah, who will abolish death [2] and bring real life and immortality to light as a result of the Good News 11 that I have been commissioned as a herald of, as well as an envoy and a teacher of the Nations. 12 That is why I suffer these things. But I’m not ashamed because I know who I have believed in, and I’m convinced that He is able to safeguard this correct knowledge and pure doctrine until the day He returns.
13 Allow this outline of wholesome doctrines that you have heard from me to remain with you with the conviction and love that comes from Yeshua the Messiah. 14 Guard the the correct knowledge and pure doctrine that was given to you by the dedicated spirit that lives in us.
15 You are aware that everyone in Asia minor has defected from me, including Phygellus and Hermogenes.
16 May our Master show mercy on the household of Onesiphorus, because he often revived me and was not ashamed of the chains of my imprisonment. 17 Yes, and also when he came to Rome he diligently looked for me and at last found me. 18 May our Master grant that he finds mercy when that day comes. You are very well aware of how he served me in Ephesus.

[1] See why “bondsman” is far better than “prisoner”. Keyword prisoner. [2] This pertains to the resurrection: 1 Corinthians 15:21,50-56, 1 John 3:14, Revelation 20:14, 21:4

2nd Timothy 2: My son, be strengthened by the compassion of Yeshua the Messiah. 2 Everything that you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, you should entrust to people of convictions who are capable of teaching others as well. 3 As a good soldier of Yeshua the Messiah, endure the hardships. 4 No man who serves as a soldier becomes entangled in the affairs of the world—so that he can please the person who enlisted him. 5 And no one who participates in the games is crowned unless they play by the rules. 6 The hard working farmer must be the first to get a share of the harvest. 7 Consider what I’m saying, Yehovah gives you wisdom in everything.
8 Never forget that Yeshua the Messiah has risen from the dead. He was the prophesied descendant of David. This is the Good News that I announce, 9 and that I suffer for, even being put in chains, as if I were a criminal, but the Words of Aloha arent imprisoned. 10 So I endure everything for the sake of the select, so that they can also obtain eternal Life thru Yeshua the Messiah, with eternal splendor.
11 This is a trustworthy statement: “If we died with Him we will also Live with Him. 12 If we have endured trials, we will also reign with him. But if we disown Him, He’ll also disown us. 13 Even if we’re unfaithful, He remains faithful, because He cant reject Himself”.
14 Remind everyone of these truths and instruct them, before Yehovah, not to argue over trifling matters, destroying the spirit of solemnity. 15 Endeavor to present yourselves as ‘genuine and perfect’ [dokimos] before Yehovah, one who maintains a straight course when teaching the Words of Truth—a laborer who has no reason to be ashamed. 16 Avoid useless conversations because they are worthless and because they promote wickedness for those who indulge in them. 17 Their teachings will spread like gangrene [gaggraina], clinging onto many. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus. 18 They’ve strayed from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already happened, and by this they are undermining the convictions of some. 19 But the firm foundation of Yehovah stands, bearing this inscription: “Yehovah knows those who are His” and “Everyone who mentions Yehovah’s name should renounce any unjust behavior”.
20 In a stately mansion there arent only articles of gold or silver, but also wooden items and ceramics. Some of them are quite honorable, but some are dishonorable. 21 If some of us purge ourselves from these latter things, we will be pure vessels of honor, dedicated to Yehovah and well prepared for every good work.
22 Run away from youthful lusts and run toward righteousness, conviction, love, and peace in the company of others who cry out to Yehovah with purity of mind. 23 But avoid moronic [moros] and ignorant debates because you know that they generate quarrels. 24 A servant of Yehovah shouldnt fight, but should be inoffensive towards everyone, a skillful teacher and tolerant of being wronged, 25 gently correcting the errors of the opposition in the hope that Yehovah might permit them to return by changing their minds so that they can come to a full knowledge of the truth, 26 returning to sobriety and escaping from Satan’s snare after having been held captive by him, and doing his will.

2nd Timothy 3: Understand that in the last days, dangerous times will set in. 2 People will be self centered, money loving, pretentious, egotistical, blasphemous, disobedient to their parents, thankless, irreligious, 3 inhumane, non committal, savage, despising those who are good, 4 traitors, rash, arrogant, loving pleasure rather than loving Yehovah. 5 They have something resembling Yehovah’s true worship, but deny Yehovah’s power [1]. Avoid them!
6 This includes men who creep from house to house, captivating feeble minded women who are overwhelmed by their sins and enticed by various cravings. 7 They are always “learning” but never coming to a correct knowledge of spiritual truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, these also oppose the truth, men with corrupted intellects—counterfeits with regard to true convictions. 9 They wont get very far before their foolishness becomes apparent to everyone, just as their predecessors became apparent.
10 But you have thoroly examined my doctrine, my life, my purpose, my convictions, my patience, my love, my patience, 11 and my persecution and suffering. And you know what I endured in Antioch and in Iconium and in Lystra, the persecution I endured and how Yehovah delivered me from it all. 12 And everyone else who chooses to live in devotion to Yehovah, and belong to Yeshua the Messiah will be persecuted. 13 Wicked and seducing people get worse and worse, misleading and being misled themselves. 14 But you must continue in the things you have learned and been assured of, because you know who you learned it from. 15 From your infancy, you were taught from the pure Scriptures, things that can give you the understanding to obtain eternal Life, by believing that Yeshua is the Messiah. 16 All Scripture [2] was written by the spirit and is profitable for doctrine for proving convictions for improving character and for complete instruction in righteousness, 17 so that a person of Aloha can become perfect and accomplished in every good work.

[1] The Greek says “it’s power”. [2] It is apparent that the Scriptures leading to eternal Life mentioned in vs.15-16 are referring to the Tanakh, mistakenly called the “Old Testament”, since all 50 other references to Scripture/s, in the Testimony of Yeshua, refer to it, including a twisted interpretation of 2 Peter 3:16. Same goes for “the Word of God” (Elohim). No reference to “the Word of God” includes the Testimony of Yeshua. Look them up!

2nd Timothy 4: In the presence of Yehovah and our Master Yeshua the Messiah, who will judge the living and the dead at His epiphany [Gr. epiphaneia: return] when He establishes His Kingdom), I implore you 2 to proclaim this teaching, spontaneously, when the opportunity arrives, and when it doesnt! Correct and admonish with this doctrine with extreme patience, 3 because the time is coming when they wont listen to sound doctrine, but, because of their cravings, they’ll and surround themselves with preachers who will tickle their itching ears! 4 They’ll turn away from hearing the truth and turn to fiction. 5 But you should be vigilant in everything, endure evil, and do the work of an assembly planter [1], fully carrying out your service.
6 My blood will soon be spilled. I’m about to “set sail”. 7 I have played a good game, I have finished my race, I have continued to be faithful. 8 So from now on, a crown of righteousness is laid away for me, that our Master, the righteous Judge will compensate me with on that Day, and not only me, but everyone who eagerly awaits His epiphany [epiphaneia: return].
9 Make an effort to come to me quickly, 10 because Demas has left me, in love with this present age, he has gone to Thessalonica, Crispus to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. 11 Only Luke is with me. Get Mark, and bring him with you, because he will be useful for this particular service. 12 I sent Tychicus to Ephesus. 13 When you come, bring the book case [2] that I left at Troas with Carpus, the books and especially the parchment scrolls [keyword: phelonen].
14 Alexander the coppersmith showed bitter hostility towards me. Our Master will compensate him commensurate with his works. 15 You should also beware of him because he has been strongly opposed to our mandate.
16 During my first defense no one sided with me, they all deserted me. I hope that this isnt held against them. 17 But my Master stood with me, and strengthened me so that I could finish publishing the proclamation [see root of proclamation] so that every nation can consider what has been said. I was rescued from the mouth of the lion. 18 My Master will rescue me from every evil endeavor, and keep me from being destroyed in preparation for His Heavenly Kingdom. Splendor belongs to Him, to the Ages of the Ages! Aw-mane’.
19 Send my greetings to Priscilla and Aquila and the household of Onesiphorus. 20 Erastus stayed over in Corinth and I left Trophimus sick in the city of Miletus. 21 Make every effort to arrive before winter. Eubulus greets you, as does Pudens and Linus and Claudia and all our Friends.
22 May our Master Yeshua the Messiah be with your spirit and may His compassion be with you. Aw-mane’.

[1] Euaggelistes: This is one of three places where this form of the word “Evangel” (Good News) appears. Religious jargon calls them evangelists. They were “assembly planters” (or “Church planters” as described in Pagan Christianity), carrying the Good News to places where it was previously unknown. Philip appears to have traveled from city to city heralding the teachings (Acts 8:4, 40 & 21:8). Judging from the case of Philip, assembly planters didnt have the authority of heralds, the gift of prophecy, or the responsibility of elders. (See also Ephesians 4:11, 2 Timothy 4:5) [2] The Greek says “cloak” instead of “book case”.
