The Letter* of Paul to the Ephesians
Ephesians 1: PAUL, a herald* of Yeshua the Messiah by the pleasure of Yehovah’, to them who is at Ephesus, *made holy*, and believing in Yeshua the Messiah: 2 Peace be with you, and *merciful kindness* from God our Father, and from our Master Yeshua the Messiah. 3 Blessed is the Yehovah Divinity, the Father of our Master Yeshua the Messiah, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing of the Spirit in heaven, by the Messiah: 4 even as He had previously chosen us in Him, before the foundation of the world, that we might be holy and without blemish* before Him; and, in love, 5 He predestined that we belong to Him; *making us sons* [1] of Yeshua the Messiah, anticipating* [2107] *what He has determined will be done* [2307]: 6 that the praise of His *merciful kindness* might be praised, which He poured on us by His Beloved One; 7 by who we have redemption, and the forgiveness of sins by His blood, according to the riches of His *merciful kindness*, 8 which has abounded in us, in all wisdom and all spiritual understanding. 9 He has caused us to understand the mystery of what He is anticipating [2107], which He had previously *determined will be done* [2307]. 10 He is *managing the affairs of His household* [3622], until the time comes that everything is fulfilled, then everything can again be unified* [346] by the Messiah—things in heaven and things on earth. 11 By Him *we have obtained our inheritance* [2820], being predestined according to His work and purpose, concerning everything that He has determined will be done; 12 that we should be they who first hoped in the Messiah, to the honor of his glory. 13 In whom, you also have heard the word of truth, which is the *Good News* of your life, and have believed in him; and have been sealed with the Holy Spirit, who was promised, 14 who is the earnest of our inheritance, until the redemption of those who are alive, and for the praise of his glory. 15 I also see, since I heard of your faith in our Master Yeshua the Messiah, and of your love towards all the Saints, 16 dont cease to give thanks on your account, and to remember you in my prayers; 17 that the God of our Master Yeshua the Messiah, the Father of glory, may give to you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation, in the recognition of him; 18 and that *your understanding* may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the praise of his inheritance in the Saints; 19 and what is the excellence of the majesty of his power in us who believe; according to the efficiency of the strength of his power, 20 which he put forth in the Messiah, and raised him from the dead, and seated him at his right hand in heaven, 21 high above all principalities, and authorities, and powers, and lordships, and above every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that to come: 22 and He has subjected all things under His feet; and has given Him who is high over all, to be the head of the assembly; 23 which is His body, and the fullness of Him who fills all in all:
[1] Strong’s 5206 is a compound word: sons (5207) and making (5087: making, ordaining, establishing): The Online Bible Greek Lexicon. You arent adopted into God’s family; you must be literally “born again” into the family as sons! “Adoption” is the “presumed compound”, based solely on tradition.
Ephesians 2: And also you, he fills, who were dead in your sins, and in your offences, 2 in which you walked before, according to the worldliness of this world, and according to the pleasure of the prince potentate of the air, that spirit which is active in the children of disobedience: 3 in which deeds we also, formerly, were conversant, in the cravings of our flesh; and we did the pleasure of our flesh, and of our mind, and were altogether the children of wrath, like the rest. 4 But God who is rich in his mercies, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 when we were dead in our sins, quickened us with the Messiah, and rescued us by his *merciful kindness*; 6 and resuscitated us with him, and seated us with him in heaven, in Yeshua the Messiah: 7 that he might show to the coming ages the magnitude of the riches of his *merciful kindness*, and his benignity towards us in Yeshua the Messiah. 8 For it is by his *merciful kindness* we are rescued, thru faith; and this is not of yourselves, but it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, for fear that any one glory. 10 For we are his creation; who is created in Yeshua the Messiah, for good works, which God has before prepared for us to walk in. 11 So be mindful, because you were formerly of carnal nations*; and you were called the uncircumcised, by that which is called the circumcision, and which is the work of the hands in the flesh. 12 And you were, at that time, without the Messiah; and were aliens from the regulations of Israel; and strangers to the covenant of the promise; and were without hope, and without God, in the world. 13 But now, by Yeshua the Messiah, you who before were afar off, have been brought near by the blood of the Messiah. 14 For He is Himself our peace, who has made the two [1] become one, and has demolished the wall which stood in the middle, and the enmity, by His flesh; 15 Having destroyed* [2673]with His flesh the hatred* [2189] of the law of *prescribed rules* [1785] contained in *public decrees* [dogma, 1378] so that, He might make the two [1] to be one new man. In this way He made peace. 16 He reconciled both with Yehovah’, in one body, and with His cross He has slain the hatred*. 17 He came, and proclaimed peace to you afar off, and to those near: 18 because, by Him there is access for us both, by one Spirit, to the Father. 19 So, you arent foreigners* *without citizenship*, rather, you are fellow citizens with the Saints, and of the family* [3609] of Yehovah. 20 You are the *finished structure* [2026 upon the foundation [2310] of the heralds* AND the prophets; and Yeshua the Messiah has become the cornerstone of the building. 21 By Him each part of the building is framed together, and grows into a holy temple in Yehovah; 22 while you also are built in Him, for a *dwelling place* [2732] of Yehovah thru the Spirit.

Ephesians 3: On this account, I Paul am a bondsman* [1] of Yeshua the Messiah, for the sake of you Aliens: 2 if so be, you have heard of the dispensation of the *merciful kindness* of God, which was given to me among you: 3 that by revelation there was made known to me the mystery, (as I have now written to you in brief, 4 so that while you read, you might be able to understand my knowledge of the mystery of the Messiah,) 5 which in other generations wasnt made known to the sons of men, as it is now revealed to his holy heralds* and to his prophets, by the Spirit; 6 that the Nations should share in His inheritance, and be partakers of His body, and of the promise which is given in Him by the Evangel; 7 of which I have been a servant, according to the gift of the goodness of God, which was imparted to me by the operation of his power: 8 to me, the least of all the Saints, has this *merciful kindness* been given, that I should announce among the Nations the unsearchable riches of the Messiah, 9 and should show to all men what is the dispensation of the mystery, which for ages was hidden by God the Creator of all things: 10 so that, by means of the assembly, the manifold wisdom of God might become known to the principalities and powers which are in heaven: 11 which wisdom he arranged ages before, and he has executed it by Yeshua the Messiah our Master; 12 thru who we have boldness and access, in the confidence of his faith. 13 So I pray, that I may not be discouraged by my afflictions, which is for your sake; for this is your glory. 14 And I bow my knees to the Father of our Master Yeshua the Messiah, 15 from who the whole family in heaven and on earth is named; 16 that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit; that in your inner man 17 the Messiah may dwell by faith, and in your minds by love, while your root and your foundation waxes strong; 18 and that you may be able to explore, with all the Saints, what is the height and depth, and length and breadth, 19 and may know the greatness of the Messiah’s love; and that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able, by his almighty power, to do for us even more than we ask or think, according to his power that works in us; 21 to him be glory, in his assembly, by Yeshua the Messiah, in all generations, for ever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 4: I therefore, a bondsman* in our Master, implore you, that you walk, (as it becomes the calling which you are called,) 2 with all lowliness of mind, and quietness, and long suffering; and that you be forbearing one towards another, in love. 3 And you be solicitous to keep the unity of the Spirit, in a bond of peace; 4 so that you may become one body, and one Spirit; even as you are called into one hope of your calling. 5 For, the Lord is one, and the faith one, and the immersion* one; 6 and one God is the Father of all, and over all, and by all, and in us all. 7 And to each of us *merciful kindness* is given, according to the measure of the gift of the Messiah. 8 Therefore it is said: He ascended on high, and carried captivity captive, and gave gifts to men. 9 Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also previously descended to the interior regions of the earth? 10 He who descended, is also the same that ascended up, high above all the heavens, that he might fulfill all things. 11 And he gave some, heralds*; and some, prophets [1]; and some, *Assembly planters* [2]; and some, shepherds* [3] and teachers: 12 for perfecting the Saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edification of the body of the Messiah; 13 until we all become one and the same, in faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, and one complete man according to the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Messiah: 14 and that we might not be children, agitated and turned about by every wind of the crafty doctrines of men who plot to seduce by their subtlety: 15 but that we might be established in our love; and that everything in us might progress in the Messiah, who is the head: 16 and from him the whole body is framed together and compacted by all the junctures, according to the gift that is imparted by measure to each member, for the growth of the body; that his edifice may be perfected in love. 17 And this I say, and testify in the Lord, that from now on you shouldnt walk as the other Aliens, who walk in the vanity of their mind: 18 and they are dark in their understandings, and are alienated from the life of God, because there is not in them knowledge, and because of the blindness of their heart. 19 They have cut off their hope, and have given themselves over to lasciviousness, and to the practice of all uncleanness in their greediness. 20 But you have not so learned the Messiah; 21 if you have truly heard him, and by him have learned as the truth is in Yeshua. 22 But you have learned, that you should lay aside your former practices, the old man that is corrupted with the lusts of error; 23 and should be renewed in the spirit of your minds; 24 and should put on the new man, that is created by God in righteousness and in the holiness of truth. 25 So, put away from you lying, and speak the truth each with his neighbor; for we are members one of another. 26 Be angry, but dont sin: and dont let the sun go down upon your anger. 27 And give no place to the Accuser. 28 And let him who stole, steal no more; but let him labor with his hands, and do good acts; that he may have to give to him who needs. 29 Let no hateful language come from your mouth, but that which is decorous, and useful for edification, that it may convey *merciful kindness* to those who hear. 30 And dont grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in which you are sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and anger, and wrath, and clamoring, and reviling, be taken from you, with all malice: 32 and be affectionate towards one another, and sympathetic; and forgive one another, as God by the Messiah has forgiven us.
1] Strong’s 43961: “in Greek writings, an interpreter of oracles or of other hidden things”
[2] Strong’s 2099, euaggelistes: This is one of three places where this form of the word “evangel” (Good News) appears. Religious jargon calls them evangelists. They were “Assembly planters” (or “Church planters” as described in Pagan Christianity), carrying the Good News to places where it was previously unknown. Philip appears to have traveled from city to city heralding the teachings (Acts 8: 4,40 amp&; 21: 8). Judging from the case of Philip, assembly planters didnt have the authority of messengers*, or the gift of prophecy, or the responsibility of elders. (See also Ephesians 4: 11, 2 Timothy 4: 5)
[3] Strong’s 4166 is translated as “shepherd” 17 times in the KJV, and this one place as “pastors”. “The tasks of a Near Eastern shepherd were: —to watch for enemies trying to attack the sheep —to defend the sheep from attackers —to heal the wounded and sick sheep —to find and save lost or trapped sheep —to love them, sharing their lives and so earning their trust.”
Ephesians 5: So be therefore imitators of God, as dear children: 2 and walk in love; as the Messiah also has loved us, and has given himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God, for a sweet odor. 3 But dont let prostitution, and all impurity, and avarice ever be heard of among you, as it becomes the Saints; 4 Neither obscenities, nor words of folly, or of division, or of scurrility, which arent useful; but instead of these, thanksgiving. 5 For this you know, that every man who is a male prostitute, or impure, or avaricious, or a worshipper of idols, has no inheritance in the kingdom of the Messiah and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words; for it is on account of these things that the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience. 7 Therefore dont be like them. 8 Before you were in darkness, but now you are in light in our Master: therefore, as the children of light, so walk. 9 For the fruits of the light are in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth. 10 And search out what is pleasing before our Master: 11 And have no commerce with the works of darkness which are unfruitful, but reprove them. 12 For the things they do in secret is nauseous even to mention. 13 For all things are exposed and made [plain] by the light: and whatever makes [plain] is light. 14 So it is said: Awake you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and the Messiah will illuminate you. 15 So see that you walk circumspectly; not like the simple, 16 but like the wise, who purchase their opportunity; because the days are evil. 17 Dont be lacking in understanding; but understand what is the pleasure of God. 18 And dont be drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness; but be filled with the spirit. 19 And converse with yourselves in psalms and hymns; and with your minds sing to the Lord, in spiritual songs. 20 And give thanks to God the Father, at all times, for all men, in the name of our Master Yeshua the Messiah. 21 And be submissive one to another, in the love of the Messiah. 22 Wives, you be submissive to your husbands, as to our Master. 23 Because the husband is the head of the wife, even as the Messiah is the head of the assembly; and he endows with life the body. 24 And as the assembly is subject to the Messiah, so also let wives be to their husbands in all things. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as the Messiah loved his assembly, and delivered himself *to death* for it; 26 that He might sanctify it, and cleanse it, by the washing of water, and by the word; 27 and might constitute it a glorious Assembly for himself, in which is no stain, and no wrinkle, and nothing like them; but that it might be holy and without blemish. 28 It behooves men so to love their wives, as they do their own bodies. For he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own body; but nourishes it, and provides for it, even as the Messiah the assembly. 30 For we are members of his body and of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this reason, a man should [leave] his father and his mother, and adhere to his wife; and the two should be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery; but I am speaking of the Messiah, and of his assembly. 33 Nevertheless, let each of you individually love his wife, just as himself: and let the wife reverence her husband.
Ephesians 6: Children, obey your parents in our Master; for this is right. 2 And the first Commandment with promise, is this: Honor your father and your mother; 3 that it may be well with you, and that your life may be prolonged on the earth. 4 And parents, dont anger your children; but train them up in the discipline and doctrine of our Master. 5 Servants, be obedient to your Masters after the flesh, with fear, and with trepidation, and with simplicity of mind, as to the Messiah. 6 Not in the sight of the eye, as if you were pleasing men; but as the servants of the Messiah, who is doing the will of God. 7 And serve them with your whole mind, in love, as if serving our Master and not men; 8 knowing that whatever good thing a man may do, the same will be compensated to him by our Master, whether he is a servant or a free man. 9 Also you Masters, do so to your servants. Forgive them a fault; because you know, that you have a Master in heaven; and there is no respect of persons with him. 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in our Master, and; in the energy of his power: 11 And put on; the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the Accuser. 12 For our conflict is not with flesh and blood, but with principalities, and with those in authority, and with the possessors of this dark world, and with the evil spirits that are beneath heaven. 13 So put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to meet the evil one; and, being in all respects prepared, may stand firm. 14 Stand up therefore, and gird your loins with truth; and put on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 and defend your feet with the preparation of the *Good News* of peace. 16 And above all take on the confidence of faith, by which you’ll have power to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. 17 And put on the helmet of rescue; and take hold of the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray with all your prayers and supplications, in spirit, at all times: and in prayer be watchful, at all seasons, praying constantly, and interceding for all the Saints: 19 and also for me; that language may be given to me, in the opening of my mouth; so that I may boldly proclaim the mystery of the Evangel, 20 of which I am a herald* in chains; that I may utter it boldly, as I should utter it. 21 And that you also may know my affairs, and what I am doing, see, Tychicus, a beloved brother, and a faithful servant in our Master, will acquaint you; 22 who I have sent to you for this purpose, that you might know what is going on with me, and that your minds may be comforted. 23 Peace be with the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father, and from our Master Yeshua the Messiah. 24 *merciful kindness* be with all them who love our Master Yeshua the Messiah without corruptness. Amen.
