JOHN 11-21 (with Strong’s Numbers)

Index
Introduction

John 11: Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha, who lived in the village of Bethany, was sick. 2 It was the same Mary who anointed Yeshua’s feet with perfume, and wiped them with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. 3 His two sisters sent to Yeshua, and said, “Master, the one you love is sick”. 4 Yeshua said, “This sickness is not a deadly sickness, but it is for the splendor of Yehovah, so that the Son of Yehovah will be glorified because of it”. 5 Now Yeshua loved Martha and Mary, and Lazarus. 6 When He heard that he was sick, He remained in the place where He was for two days. 7 Afterwards He told His Disciples, “Come, let’s go to Judea again”. 8 His Disciples questioned Him, “Rabbi, the Jews have just tried to stone You; and You want to go there again”? 9 Yeshua told them, “Arent there twelve hours in the day? If a man walks in the daytime, he wont stumble; because he sees the light of the world. 10 But if someone walks in the night, they stumble; because there is no light with them”. 11 Yeshua said these things, but later He told them, “Lazarus our friend is asleep [1]. But I’m going to wake him up”. 12 His Disciples asked Him, “Master, if he sleeps, he is recovering”. 13 But Yeshua spoke of his death; but they thought, He spoke of about sleeping in bed. 14 Then Yeshua told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead. 15 And I am glad for your sakes, that I was not there; so that you can believe. Now let’s go there”. 16 Thomas, who is called the Twin, told his fellow Disciples, “Let’s go and die with Him”. 17 Yeshua came to Bethany, and found that he had been in the grave for four days. 18 Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, a distance of about fifteen furlongs. 19 Many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. 20 When Martha heard that Yeshua was coming, she went out to meet Him; but Mary was sitting in the house. 21 Martha told Yeshua, “Master, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now, I know that whatever You ask of Yehovah, He will give it to You”. 23 Yeshua told her, “Your brother will rise”. 24 Martha replied, “I know, that he will rise in the resurrection, on the Last Day”. 25 Yeshua told her, “I am the resurrection, and life. Anyone who believes in Me, even tho they die, they will live. 26 No one who lives, and believes in Me, will experience eternal death. Do you believe this”? 27 She told Him, “Yes, Master; I believe, that You are the Messiah, the Son of Yehovah, who has come into the world”. 28 After she said that, she went and called her sister Mary, secretly, and told her, “Our Master has come, and calls for you”. 29 When Mary heard it, she rose up quickly and went to meet Him. 30 Yeshua had not yet entered the village, but was in the place where Martha met Him. 31 Then the Jews who were with her in the house consoled her, and when they saw that Mary got up quickly and went out, they followed her; for they supposed she was going to the grave to cry. 32 When Mary came where Yeshua was and saw Him, she fell at His feet, and told Him, “If you had been here, Master, my brother would not have died”. 33 When Yeshua saw her crying, and the Jews crying who came with her, He was moved in His Spirit, and was greatly disturbed. 34 He said, “Where have you laid him”? They replied, “Master, come and see”. 35 Yeshua was in tears. 36 The Jews said, “See, how much He loved him”. 37 Some of them said, “Couldnt this Man who opened the eyes of a blind man, have prevented this death”? 38 Yeshua, still disturbed, came to the grave. The grave was a cave, and a stone was laid before its entrance. 39 Yeshua said, “Take this stone away”. Martha, the sister of the deceased, told Him, “Master, by this time he stinks; since four days have passed”. 40 Yeshua told her, “Didnt I tell you that if you believed you would see the magnificence of Yehovah”? 41 So they took away the stone. Yeshua looked up, and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 I know that You always hear Me; but because of the crowd that stands here, I say these things; so that they will believe that you have sent Me”. 43 After He had spoken, He called out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out”! 44 The dead man came out, with his hands and his feet bound with burial clothes, and his face wrapped with cloth. Yeshua told them, “Untie him, and let him go”. 45 Many of the Jews who had come to Mary, when they saw what Yeshua did, believed in Him. 46 But some of them went to the Pharisees, and told them everything that Yeshua had done. 47 The leading priests and Pharisees gathered together, and said, “What will we do now? For this Man works many miracles”. 48 If we let Him alone, all the people will believe in Him; and the Romans will come, and will take away our place and our nation. 49 One of them, named Caiaphas, was the high priest that year; and he told them, “You dont know anything. 50 Nor do you consider that it is expedient for us, for one Man to die for the people, rather than have the whole nation perish”. 51 However He didnt say this from the prompting of his own mind; but being the high priest that year, he prophesied, that Yeshua was about to die for the people; 52 and not only for the people, but also so that He could gather together the sons of Yehovah who were *scattered abroad*. 53 From that day on, they resolved to kill Him. 54 Yeshua didnt walk openly among the Jews; but went to a nearby place in the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim; and He stayed there with His Disciples. 55 The Passover of the Jews was near; and many went up from the villages to Jerusalem, before the Feast, so that they could purify themselves. 56 They looked for Yeshua. In the temple they asked each other, “What do you think? Will He come to the Feast”? 57 The leading priests and the Pharisees had ordered that if anyone knew where He was, that they should tello them, so that they could seize Him.

John 12: Six days before the Passover, Yeshua came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Yeshua raised from the dead. 2 They made a supper for Him there, Martha served, and Lazarus was one of the guests with Him. 3 Mary took an alabaster box of perfume of choice spikenard, of great value; and anointed Yeshua’s feet; and she wiped His feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. 4 Then Judas Iscariot, the Disciple who was about to betray Him, said, 5 “Why wasnt this ointment sold for three hundred denarii, and given to the poor”? 6 He didnt say this because he cared for the poor, but because he was thief, and he held the money belt, and carried what was put in it. 7 But Yeshua said, “Let her alone; she has kept it for the day of My burial. 8 For the poor are always with you, but I wont always be with you”. 9 Great crowds of Jews heard that He was there; and they came, not only because of Yeshua, but also so that they could see Lazarus, whom He raised from the dead. 10 The leading priests even thought about killing Lazarus; 11 because many of the Jews, due to him, were leaving and believing in Yeshua. 12 The next day, many people who had come to the Feast, when they heard that Yeshua was coming to Jerusalem, 13 took boughs of palm trees, and went out to meet Him. They cried out, “Hosanna, blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Master, the King of Israel”! 14 Yeshua found a donkey, and sat on it; as it is written, 15 “Dont fear, daughter of Zion. Look, your King comes to you; and He rides on a colt, the foal of a donkey”. 16 His Disciples didnt understand these things, at that time; but when Yeshua was glorified, then His Disciples remembered that these things were written about Him, and that they did them to Him. 17 The crowd that had been with Him testified that He had called Lazarus from the grave, and raised him from the dead. 18 Because of this, great crowds went out to meet Him, after they heard that He had done this miracle. 19 But the Pharisees said among themselves, “Do you see that we are gaining nothing? For everyone is following Him”. 20 There were also some Greek* proselytes among the people, who had come up to worship at the Feast. 21 They came, and approached Philip, who was of Bethsaida in Galilee, and told him, “Friend, we want to see Yeshua”. 22 Philip came and told Andrew; and Andrew and Philip told Yeshua. 23 Yeshua told them, “The hour has come that the Son of man will be made glorious. 24 Assuredly, I tell you, that unless a kernel of wheat falls and dies in the ground, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces numerous fruits. 25 He who loves his life, will lose it; and he who *has no concern* for his life, in this world, will protect it for everlasting life. 26 If anyone wants to be My servant, they should follow Me; so that where I am, there My servant will also be. The Father will honor anyone who serves Me. 27 Look, I am greatly troubled; and what should I say? ‘Father, deliver Me from this hour’? But for this very reason, I came to this hour. 28 Father, make Your name renowned! A voice was heard from heaven, ‘I have made it renowned; and I will make it renowned again’”. 29 The crowd standing by, heard it; and they said, “There was thunder”. But others said, “A holy Messenger spoke with Him”. 30 Yeshua told them, “This voice was not for My sake, but for yours”. 31 Now is the judgment of this world, now the ruler of this world is thrown out [1]. 32 When I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to Me. 33 This He said, to show by what kind of death He was to die. 34 The crowd told Him, “We have heard from the Torah*, that the Messiah remains* forever, so why do You say that the Son of man is to be lifted up? Who is this Son of man”? 35 Yeshua told them, “For a short time longer, the light is with you. Walk, while you have the light, so that the darkness wont overtake you. He who walks in the dark, doesnt know where he is going. 36 While the light is with you, believe in the light; so that you can be children of the light”. Yeshua said these things, and then left, and hid Himself from them. 37 Altho He had done all of -these miracles before them, they still did not believe. 38 This fulfilled the statement of Isaiah the prophet, who said, “Master; who has believed our report? To whom is the arm of the Master revealed”? 39 For this reason they could not believe, because as Isaiah had said: 40 “They have blinded their eyes, and darkened their minds; so that they would not see with their eyes, and understand with their minds, and be converted; so that I would heal them”. 41 Isaiah mentioned these things, after he saw His splendor*, [2] and spoke of Him. 42 Many of the leaders also believed in Him; but because of the Pharisees, they didnt admit it, fearing that they would be put out of the synagogue; 43 because they loved the approval* of men, more than the approval* of Yehovah. 44 Yeshua cried, “He who believes in Me, doesnt believe in Me, but in the One who sent Me”. 45 He who sees Me, sees the One who sent Me. 46 I have come into the world, as a light, so that whoever believes in Me would not stay in darkness. 47 I wont judge anyone who hears My truths, but doesnt observe them; for I didnt come into the world to judge it now [3], but to save* the world. 48 Whoever rejects Me, and doesnt receive My teaching*, has something to judge him—the teaching that I reveal will judge them on the Last Day. 49 For I have not spoken My own teachings. The Father who sent Me instructed Me about what I should say—what I should declare*. 50 I know that His Commandments lead to eternal life. So, these things that I say, are what My Father has told Me to say.

[1] Tho Satan tried to control the world thru Yeshua, he has had a “lame duck” administration since Yeshua qualified to rule the world under His Father, rather than under Satan.

[3] In Acts 17:30-31, Yeshua is shown judging the world.

John 13: Before the Feast of the Passover, Yeshua knew that the time had come when He would depart from this world to the Father. He loved His own people who were in the world; and He loved them to the end. 2 *During supper*, Satan put into the mind of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, the idea to betray Him. 3 Yeshua, because He knew that the Father had put everything under His control* [5495]; and that He had left the Father’s presence, and was going back to Yehovah; 4 arose from the supper, and laid aside His outer clothing, and took a linen cloth, and wrapped it about His waste; 5 and poured water into a wash basin, and began to wash the feet of His Disciples. He wiped them with the linen cloth that He had tied around His waste. 6 When He came to Simon Cephas, Simon asked Him, “Master, are You going to wash my feet for me”? 7 Yeshua told him, “What I do, you wont understand now, but later you’ll understand”. 8 Simon Cephas replied, “You will never wash my feet”. Yeshua said, “Unless I wash you, you will have no part with Me”. 9 Then Simon Cephas said, “Master, then not only wash my feet, but also my hands and my head”. 10 Yeshua told him, “He who has bathed only needs to wash his feet; for he is otherwise clean. You are clean; but not all of you”. 11 For Yeshua knew who would betray Him, so He said, you arent all clean. 12 After He had washed their feet, He put on His outer clothing, and sat down. Then He asked them, “Do you understand what I have done for you”? 13 You call Me, Teacher, and Master; and you are right, because I am. 14 So if I, your Teacher and Master, have washed your feet, how much more should you to wash each others feet? 15 For I have given you this example, so that you would do as I have done for you. 16 Assuredly, I tell you that no slave* is greater than his master; and no messenger* [652, apostolos] is greater than the person who sent him. 17 If you know these things, you will be blessed* if you do them. 18 I dont say this about all of you, I know whom I have chosen. But so that the Scriptures will be fulfilled, he who eats bread with Me, has lifted his heel against Me. 19 I want to tell you something before it happens, so that when it happens you’ll know that I am the One. 20 Assuredly, I tell you, “He who receives someone whom I send, receives Me; and he who receives Me, receives the One who sent Me”. 21 Yeshua said these things, but He was disturbed in His spirit; and He testified, “Assuredly, I tell you that one of you will betray Me”. 22 The Disciples stared at each other; because they didnt know what He was talking about. 23 One of His Disciples, one Yeshua particularly loved, was leaning over Him. 24 Simon Cephas *signaled to him by a nod*, that he should ask Him, who it was that He spoke of. 25 Then that Disciple leaned on the Yeshua’s chest, and asked Him, “Master, who is it”? 26 Yeshua answered, “It is the one that I give bread to when I have dipped it”. Then Yeshua dipped the bread, and gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. 27 After the bread, Satan entered into him. Yeshua told him, “What you do, do quickly”. 28 No one there knew what He had told him. 29 Some of them supposed, because Judas held the money box, that Yeshua had asked him to buy something necessary for the Feast, or that he was giving something to the poor. 30 Judas took the bread at once, and left the house. It was night when he left. 31 Yeshua said, “Now the Son of man is glorified; and Yehovah is glorified in Him. 32 If Yehovah is glorified in Him, Yehovah will glorify Him in Himself; and will glorify Him quickly. 33 My children, I am with you a little longer; and you’ll look for Me; and, as I said to the Jews, where I go you cant come, so now I am saying it to you. 34 A new Commandment I give to you—that you love each other. As I have loved you, so you must also love each another. 35 If you love each other, everyone will know that you are My Disciples”! 36 Simon Cephas asked Him, “Master, where are You going”? Yeshua told him, “I am going where you cannot follow Me; tho you’ll follow Me later on”. 37 Simon Cephas told Him, “Master, why cant I follow you? I would lay down my life for You”. 38 Yeshua told him, “Would you lay down your life for Me? Assuredly, I tell you that the rooster wont crow, until you have denied Me three times”.

John 14: Dont let your minds be troubled; believe in Yehovah, and believe in Me. 2 There are many *dwelling places* [3438] in My Father’s house; otherwise, I would have told you; because I am going to prepare a *designated place* for you. 3 If I go to prepare for you that place, I will come again and take you to Myself; so that where I am, there you may be also. 4 Where I go, you know; and the way you know”. 5 Thomas asked Him, “Master, we dont know where You are going; so how can we know the way”? 6 Yeshua told him, “I am the way, and truth, and life; no one comes to My Father, except thru Me. 7 If you had known Me, you would also have known My Father; and from now on you do know Him, and have seen Him”. 8 Philip said, “Master, show us the Father, and it will be sufficient for us”. 9 Yeshua replied, “Have I been with you all this time, and you have not known Me, Philip? He who sees Me, sees the Father, so why would you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Dont you believe that I am in My Father, and My Father in Me? The truths that I speak, I dont speak from Myself, but My Father, who lives in Me does these works! 11 Believe that I am in My Father, and My Father is in Me. But if not, at least believe because of the works. 12 Assuredly, I tell you that anyone who believes in Me will also do the works that I do. And they will do greater works than these, because I am going to My Father. 13 What you’ll ask in My name, I will do for you; so that the Father can be extolled thru His Son. 14 If you’ll ask something of Me, in My name, I will do it. 15 If you love Me, obey My Commandments. 16 I will ask My Father, and He will give you another Comforter, and it* [1] will be with you forever. 17 It is the Spirit of truth; that* the world wont receive, because it has not seen it, and doesnt know of it; but you know of it, because it remains* with you, and is in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; for I will come to you after a little while. 19 The world wont see Me; but you’ll see Me. Because I live, you’ll also live. 20 In that day you’ll know that I am in My Father; and that you are in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My Commandments, and who regards them, is the one who loves Me. He who loves Me, will be loved by My Father; and I will love him, and will reveal Myself to him”. 22 Judas, not Iscariot, asked Him, “Master, how is it that You will reveal Yourself to us, and not to the world”? 23 Yeshua replied, “He who loves Me, and regards* My teachings*; My Father will love them, and We [2] will come to them, and dwell with them. 24 But those who dont love Me, dont preserve* [5083] My teachings. The teachings that you hear are not mine, but are the Father’s who sent Me. 25 When I was with you, I told you these things. 26 But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, that the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything, and will remind you of everything that I have told you. 27 I leave peace with you; I give you My peace, but not as the world gives. Dont let your minds be troubled, nor be afraid. 28 You have heard what I told you, that I must go away, and come again to you. If you had loved Me, you would have rejoiced, that I go to My Father; for My Father is greater than I. 29 Now look, I have told you before it happens; so that after it has happened, you will believe”. 30 I will not converse much with you afterwards, for the ruler of this world is coming, and has nothing to do with Me. 31 But that the world can know that I love My Father; I do as My Father has instructed Me. Get up; let’s leave this place.

[1] Aramaic assigns gender to inanimate objects etc., as many languages do. The Holy Spirit is feminine in Aramaic. In Greek, Strong’s 846, “autos”, can be translated as “he, she or it”. Trinitarians opt for “He”.

[2] Both the Father and the Son will come to the person who shows Them love by regarding (obeying) Their Commandments.

John 15: I am the true vine; and My Father is the cultivator. 2 Every branch in Me that doesnt yield fruit, He takes away; and those that yield fruit, He prunes* so that it will yield more fruit. 3 From now on you are pure, because of the teachings that I have spoken with you. 4 Remain in Me, and I in you. As the branch cant yield fruit by itself, unless it remains on the vine; neither can you, unless you remain with Me. 5 I am the vine, and you are the branches. He who remains with Me, and I with him, will yield abundant fruit; but you cant do anything without Me. 6 If anyone fails to stay with Me, he is thrown out as a withered branch; they will gather it up, and toss it in the fire to be burned. 7 But if you remain with Me, and My teachings remain in you, anything that you ask will be done for you. 8 The Father is glorified when you bear abundant fruit; and become My Disciples. 9 As My Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; stay in My love. 10 If you keep My Commandments*, you’ll remain in My love, as I have kept My Father’s Commandments, and remain in His love. 11 These things I have told to you, so that My joy will be in you, and that your joy will be complete. 12 This is My Commandment, that you love each other, as I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than this, than for someone to lay down their life *for the sake of* [5228] their friends. 14 You are My friends, if you do everything that I command you. 15 I will no longer call you slaves; because a slave doesnt know what his Master is doing; but I have called you My friends; because I have revealed everything to you that I have heard from My Father,. 16 You have not selected [1586] Me, but I have selected you; and I have established* you, so that you could also go and yield fruit, and so that your fruit would continue; and He will give you whatever you ask for in My Father’s name. 17 I have told you these things, so that you will love each other. 18 If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before you. 19 If you were worldly, the world would love its own. But you arent worldly, because I have selected you out of the world. The world hates you because of this. 20 Remember the teachings that I gave you; that there is no slave, who is *more empowered* than his master. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; and if they have *paid attention to* [5083] My teachings, they will *pay attention to* yours also. 21 But they will do all these things to you, because of My name, because they dont know the One who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken with them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now there is no excuse for their sins. 23 He who hates Me, also hates My Father. 24 If I had not done wondrous works before them, that no else ever did, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have seen, and hated both Me and My Father; 25 so that they will fulfill the statement that is written in His* [846, autos] Torah*, “They hated Me, without a reason”. 26 But when the Comforter comes, that* I will send to you from My Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father will testify of Me. 27 You will also be witnesses; because you have been with Me from the beginning.

John 16: I have told you these things so that you wont *be offended*. 2 They will exclude* you from the synagogues [1]; and the time will come when whoever kills you will believe that he is presenting an offering to Yehovah. 3 They will do these things because they havent known either My Father or Me. 4 I have spoken these things to you, so that when the time comes, you will remember that I told you about them. I didnt tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you. 5 But now I am going to the One who sent Me; yet none of you are asking Me where I am going. 6 Because I have told you these things, sorrow has come and has filled your minds. 7 But I tell you the truth—it is for your benefit* that I leave; because if I dont leave, the Comforter wont come to you; but if I go, I will send it to you. 8 When it comes, it will expose* the sins of the world; expose it to righteousness, judgment, 9 and sin, because they dont believe in Me, 10 and righteousness, because I go to My Father, and you will see Me no more; 11 and judgment, because the ruler of this world is condemned. 12 I have much to tell you; but you cant comprehend it yet. 13 But when the Spirit of truth comes, it will guide* you toward* every* individual* [3956] truth. It wont speak for itself*; but whatever it hears, that is what it will speak; and it will reveal to you things to come. 14 It will glorify Me; because it will take* [2983] what is Mine, and will show it to you. 15 Whatever the Father has is Mine; so I tell you that it will take what is Mine, and will show it to you. 16 Soon you wont see Me; but soon after that, you will see Me; because I am going to the Father”. 17 His Disciples discussed among themselves: “What is this that He says to us, ‘Soon you wont see Me, and then soon you’ll see Me, because I go to My Father’”? 18 They said, “What is this ‘soon’ that He is talking about? We dont know what He is talking about”. 19 Yeshua knew what they wanted to ask Him; so He asked them, “Are you debating with each other about what I told you: ‘Soon you wont see Me, and then soon you’ll see Me’? 20 Assuredly, I tell you that you’ll cry and lament. When the world rejoices, you’ll be sorry. But your sorrow will be turned to joy. 21 A woman in childbirth has sorrow, because the time of her deliverance has come; but after she has delivered a baby*, she doesnt remember her anguish, because of the joy that someone has been born into the world. 22 You also have sorrow now; but I will see you again, and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. 23 In that time you’ll ask Me nothing. Assuredly, I tell you that whatever you ask of My Father in My name, He will give it to you. 24 Previously, you asked for nothing in My name. Ask, and you’ll receive; that your joy may be complete. 25 I have told you these things in analogies* [3850]; but the time will come, when I will not talk to you in analogies*, but I will talk to you plainly about the Father. 26 Then you’ll ask in My name; and I wont be there to say that I will pray to the Father for you. 27 The Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came from the presence of the Father. 28 I left the Father, and came into the world; and now I am leaving the world, and am going to the Father”. 29 His Disciples asked Him, “Now you are speaking plainly, without analogies*. 30 Now we know, that You know everything; and there is no further need for anyone to question You. With this clarification we understand, that You departed* from Yehovah”. 31 Yeshua asked them, “Do you believe? 32 Look, the time comes, and has now come, when you’ll be dispersed, each to his own place; and you’ll leave Me alone. But I am never alone, because the Father is with Me. 33 I have told you these things, so that in Me you can have peace. In the world you’ll have tribulation; but, take courage, I have conquered [3528] the world”.

John 17: Yeshua said these things, and looked up toward heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that your Son may glorify You. 2 As you have given Him authority over all mortals*, so that He could give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3 This is eternal life, that they can know You, that You are the only true God, the One who sent Yeshua the Messiah. 4 I have glorified You on the earth; I have finished the work that You gave Me to do. 5 Now, Father, make Me glorious, with that splendor* that I had with you before the world existed. 6 I have made Your name known to the people* You gave Me from the world; they were Yours, and You gave them to Me; and they have *paid attention to* Your teaching. 7 Now they know that whatever You gave Me, was from You. 8 For, the teachings You gave to Me, I have given to them; and they have received them, and know for certain, that I came from Your presence; and they have believed that You sent Me. 9 I pray for them; I dont pray for the world, but for those You have given to Me, because they are Yours. 10 Everything that is Mine is Yours, and what is Yours is Mine; and I am glorified by them. 11 From now on, I am no longer in the world; but they are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect* [5083] those You have given to Me; in Your name, so that they can be one, as We are. 12 While I have been with them in the world, I have protected* them in Your name. Those you gave Me, I have protected*; and none of them *were destroyed*, except the son of perdition, in order for the Scriptures to be fulfilled. 13 But now I am coming to You; and these things I speak in the world, that My joy may be fulfilled in them. 14 I have given them Your teachings; and the world has hated them, because they arent of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I’m not asking* for Youto take them out of the world, but that You would protect* them from evil. 16 They arent of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Father, *set them apart* by Your truth, Your teaching is the truth. 18 As you sent Me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 I set Myself apart for them, so that they will also be set apart by the truth. 20 I am not asking* for them alone, but also for those who will believe in Me thru their teaching; 21 so that they can all be one; as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; so that they can also be one with* Us; so that the world will believe that You sent Me. 22 The magnificence that You gave Me, I have given them; so that they can be one, *just as* [2531] We are one. 23 I in them, and You in Me; so that they will be perfected into one; and so that the world will know that You sent Me, and that You loved them, *just as* You loved Me. 24 Father, I want for those You have given Me to be with Me where I am; so that they can see the splendor that You have given Me; because You loved Me before the foundation of the world was laid down. 25 Righteous Father, the world has not known You; but I have known You, and the ones that You sent Me have known. 26 I have made Your name known to them; and I will continue to make it known; so that the *brotherly love* that You have loved Me with, will be in them, and I in them”.

John 18: Yeshua spoke these things, and then went out with His Disciples beyond the Kedron brook, where He and His Disciples entered a garden. 2 Judas, the betrayer, also knew the place; because Yeshua often met there with His Disciples. 3 So Judas took a regiment and some officials from the leading priests and Pharisees; and they arrived with torches and lanterns and weapons. 4 Yeshua knew every last thing that was going to happen to Him, yet He went out and asked them, “Who do you want”? 5 They told Him, “Yeshua the Nazarene”. Yeshua replied, “I AM” [1]. Judas the betrayer was also standing with them. 6 When Yeshua told them, “I AM”, they lurched backward, and fell to the ground. 7 So Yeshua asked them again, “Who do you want”? And they said, “Yeshua the Nazarene”. 8 Yeshua told them, “I have told you that I AM; and if you want Me, let these go away”. 9 This fulfilled the request that He spoke: “Of those, whom You have given Me, not one was destroyed”. 10 Simon Cephas had on him a sword; so he drew it, and struck a servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus. 11 Yeshua told Cephas, “Put the sword back into its sheath. Can I avoid drinking from the cup that My Father has given Me”? 12 Then the regiment and the captain and the officers of the Jews seized Yeshua, and chained Him. 13 They led Him first before Annas. He was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was the high priest that year. 14 It was Caiaphas who recommended to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people. 15 Simon Cephas and another Disciple went after Yeshua. The other Disciple knew the high priest; and he entered with Yeshua into the hall. 16 But Simon stood outside the door; and the other disciple, who knew the high priest, went out and spoke to the doorkeeper and brought Simon in. 17 A *servant girl*, a doorkeeper, asked Simon, “Arent you also one of this Man’s Disciples”? He replied, “I am not”. 18 The servants and officials were standing, and had made a fire to warm themselves. 19 The high priest interrogated Yeshua about His Disciples, and about His teaching. 20 Yeshua told him, “I have spoken openly with the people, and have continually taught in the synagogues and in the temple, where all the Jews assemble; I have spoken nothing in private. 21 Why are you interrogating Me? Ask those who have heard what I told them. They know what I said”. 22 As He said these things, one of the officials standing by, struck Yeshua’s cheek, and asked Him, “Is this how You answer the high priest”? 23 Yeshua replied, “If I have spoken any evil then show some evidence of the evil; but if not, why strike Me”? 24 Now Annas had sent Yeshua chained to Caiaphas the high priest. 25 Simon Cephas was standing and warming himself; and they asked him, “Arent you also one of His Disciples”? But he denied it, and said, “I am not”. 26 One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of the one whose ear Simon cut off, asked him, “Didnt I see you with Him in the garden”? 27 Again Simon denied it, and at that moment the rooster crowed. 28 They led Yeshua from the presence of Caiaphas to the Praetorium; that morning. But they didnt enter the Praetorium, because they were afraid that they would defile themselves before they had eaten the Passover. 29 Pilate went out and asked them, “What accusation do you have against this Man”? 30 They answered, “If He were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him to you”. 31 Pilate replied, “Take Him, and judge Him according to your Torah*”. The Jews said, “It is not lawful for us to put a man to death”. 32 This fulfilled Yeshua’s statement concerning what He had said about how He would be killed. 33 Pilate went into the Praetorium, and called Yeshua, and asked Him, “Are you the King of the Jews”? 34 Yeshua asked, “Are you speaking on your own behalf, or have others suggested this about Me”? 35 Then Pilate asked, “Am I a Jew? Your countrymen and the leading priests have delivered You to me. What have You done”? 36 Yeshua replied, “My Kingdom is not of this world. If My Kingdom were of this world, My officers* [5257] would fight so that I wouldnt be given over to the Jews, but presently* [3568] My Kingdom is not from this place”. 37 Pilate asked. “Then You are a King”? Yeshua replied, “You have said, that I am a King. That is why I was born; and that is why I came into the world, so that I could be a witness of the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice”. 38 Pilate asked, “What is this truth”? As he was asking this, he went out again to the Jews, and told them, “I find nothing criminal about Him”. 39 You have a custom that I should release one person to you at the Passover; so do you want me to release for you this King of the Jews”? 40 They all cried out, “Not this man, but Barabbas”. Now this Barabbas was a robber.

[1] As in Exodus 3:14

John 19: Then Pilate had Yeshua scourged. 2 The soldiers braided a crown of thorns, and put it on His head; and they clothed Him in purple clothes. 3 They said, “Peace to the King of the Jews”! Then they struck His cheeks. 4 Pilate went out again, and told them, “Look, I am bringing Him out to you, but understand that I can find absolutely nothing offensive about Him”. 5 Yeshua went out, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple clothes. And Pilate told them, “Look, the Man”! 6 When the leading priests and officials saw Him, they cried out, “Crucify* Him; Crucify* Him”. Pilate told them, “You take Him, and crucify Him; for I find no fault with Him”. 7 The Jews told him, “We have a Torah*, and, according to our Torah*, He deserves death, because He declared Himself to be the Son of Yehovah”. 8 When Pilate heard that declaration, he was even more afraid. 9 He went again into the Praetorium; and he asked Yeshua, “Where are You from”? But Yeshua didnt answer him. 10 Pilate asked Him, “Wont You talk to me? Dont You know that I have the authority to release You, and I have the authority to crucify You”? 11 Yeshua replied, “You would have no authority at all over Me, if it were not given to you from above, so the sin of those who delivered Me to you, is greater than yours”. 12 Pilate wanted to release Him because of this. But the Jews yelled out, “If you release this Man, you arent Caesar’s friend; for whoever makes himself a king, opposes Caesar”. 13 When Pilate heard this declaration, he brought Yeshua out, and sat on the tribunal in a place called the Pavement of Stones; but in Hebrew it is called Gabbatha. 14 It was the Preparation Day for the Passover; and it was about the sixth hour. He told the Jews, “Look, your King”. 15 But they yelled out, “Away with Him, away with Him; crucify* Him, crucify Him”. Pilate asked them, “Should I crucify your King”? The leading priests replied, “We have no King, but Caesar”. 16 So he delivered Him to them, so that they could crucify Him. They took Yeshua, and led Him away, 17 bearing His cross to a place called “The Skull”, and in Hebrew called Golgotha; 18 where they crucified Him; and two others with Him, one on this side, and the other on that, and Yeshua between them. 19 Pilate also wrote on a stone tablet, and put it on His cross. The words were: “THIS IS YESHUA THE NAZARENE, KING OF THE JEWS”. 20 Many of the Jews read the tablet; because the place where Yeshua was crucified was near Jerusalem; and it was written in Hebrew and Greek and Latin. 21 The leading priests told Pilate, “Dont write that He is King of the Jews, but that He said He was King of the Jews”. 22 Pilate said, “What I have written, I have written”. 23 The soldiers, when they had crucified Yeshua, took His clothes and made four lots of them, a lot for each of the soldiers. His robe was seamless, woven from the top in one piece. 24 They agreed among themselves, “We wont tear it, but will cast lots for it to see whose it will be”. In this the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “They divided My clothes among them; and for My robe they cast lots”. So the soldiers did these things. 25 His mother and His mother’s sister, and Mary, Cleophas’wife, and Mary Magdalene were standing near Yeshua’s cross. 26 Yeshua saw His mother, and the Disciple He loved, standing by, and He told His mother, “Woman, look, your son”. 27 He said to that disciple, “Look, your mother”. From then on, the Disciple took her with him. 28 After these things, Yeshua knew that everything was finished; and, so that the Scriptures would be fulfilled, He said, “I am thirsty”. 29 A pitcher was placed there, full of vinegar. They filled a sponge with the vinegar, and put it on a hyssop stalk, and placed it by His mouth. 30 When Yeshua had received the vinegar, He said, “It is finished”. He bowed His head, and *gave over* [3860] His spirit. 31 Because it was the Preparation Day, the Jews said, “These bodies must not remain all night on crosses; because the Sabbath was approaching; and that particular Sabbath was a Great* [3173, megas] Day”. So they asked Pilate, if they could break the legs of those being crucified, and take them down. 32 The soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with Him. 33 But when they came to Yeshua, they saw that He was already dead; and they didnt break His legs. 34 But one of the soldiers thrust a spear into His side; and immediately blood and water came out. 35 He who saw it, has testified; and his testimony is true, because he knows that he speaks the truth, that you also can believe. 36 For these things happened, so that the Scriptures would be fulfilled that state: “None of His bones will be broken”. 37 Again another Scripture said: “They will look at the One they pierced”. 38 After these things, Joseph of Ramtha [Arimathaea], (who was a Disciple of Yeshua, who remained *in hiding* [2928] for fear of the Jews) requested of Pilate, that he could take the body of Yeshua away. Pilate allowed it. So he came, and took the body of Yeshua. 39 Nicodemus also came there, (the one who previously came to Yeshua by night,) and he brought with him a compound of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred litra* [1]. 40 They took Yeshua’s body away, and wound it in linens and aromatics, as it is customary for the Jews for burial. 41 There was a garden in the place where Yeshua was crucified, and in the garden was a new tomb that no one had yet been laid. 42 There they laid Yeshua, because the Preparation Day [2] *was almost over*, and because the tomb was near.

[1] A litra is about 12 oz.

[2] Preparation Day is always associated with the Passover.

John 20: On the First *of the Sabbaths* [4521, Sabbaton], in the morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb, and she saw that the stone had already been removed from the tomb. 2 She ran, and came to Simon Cephas, and to the other Disciple whom Yeshua loved, and told them, “They have taken away our Master from the tomb, and I dont know where they have laid Him”. 3 Simon and the other Disciple left, heading for the tomb. 4 They both ran together; but that Disciple outran Simon, and arrived at the tomb first. 5 He looked in, and saw the linen clothes lying there, but he didnt go in. 6 Simon arrived after him, and he entered the tomb, and saw the linen clothes lying there; 7 and he saw that the burial cloth that had been wrapped around His head was not with the linen clothes, but was folded up, and laid in a place by itself. 8 Then the other Disciple also entered, the one who arrived at the tomb first. He saw, and believed. 9 For they had not yet discerned from the Scriptures that He was to arise from the dead. 10 The Disciples went back to their place. 11 But Mary remained standing at the tomb, crying; and as she cried, she looked into the tomb 12 and saw two holy Messengers in white, who were sitting, one at the head* and one at the feet, where the body of Yeshua was laid. 13 They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying”? She said, “Because they have taken away my Master, and I dont know where they have laid Him”. 14 After she said this, she turned round, and saw Yeshua standing there, but didnt realize that it was Yeshua. 15 Yeshua asked her, “Woman, why are you crying and, who are you looking for”? She, supposing that He was the gardener, asked Him, “Friend, if you have taken Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will go and take Him away”. 16 Yeshua said, “Mary”! And she turned, and said to Him in Hebrew, “Rabbuli”; that means “Teacher”. 17 Yeshua told her, “Dont touch Me; for I havent yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers, and tell them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God’”. 18 Then Mary Magdalene went and told the Disciples that she had seen the Master; and that He had said these things to her. 19 On the evening of the First *of the Sabbaths*, the doors were locked where the Disciples were, for fear of the Jews. Yeshua came and stood among them, and said, “Peace be with you”. 20 After saying this, He showed them His hands and His side. The Disciples rejoiced when they saw the Master. 21 Yeshua said, “Peace be with you. I am sending you, just as My Father sent Me”. 22 As he said these things, He breathed on them, and told them, “Receive the Holy Spirit”. 23 If you disregard* [863] anyone’s sins, his sins will be disregarded; but if you retain anyone’s sins, yours will also be retained. 24 But Thomas, who was called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not there with them, when Yeshua came. 25 The Disciples told him, “We have seen our Master”. But he replied, “Unless I see in His hands the places of the nails, and put my fingers into them, and touch His side with my hand, I wont believe it”. 26 After eight days [1], the Disciples were again inside, and Thomas was with them. Yeshua came, while the doors were locked, and stood among them, and said, “Peace be with you”. 27 He said to Thomas, “Put your finger in here, and look at My hands; and reach out your hand and put it into My side; dont be unbelieving, but believing”. 28 Thomas said, “My Master, and my God”! 29 Yeshua replied, “Because you have seen Me, you believe. Blessed are those, who havent seen Me, and believe”. 30 Yeshua did many other signs before His Disciples that arent written in this book. 31 But these were written so that you can believe that Yeshua is the Messiah, the Son of Yehovah; and that when you believe, you can have eternal life in His name.

[1] This assembly, counting inclusively from the Preparation Day, would be for the Last Day of Unleavened Bread.

John 21: After these things, Yeshua showed Himself to His Disciples again, at the sea of Tiberias. This is the way He showed Himself: 2 Simon Cephas, and Thomas called the Twin, and Nathaniel who was of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other Disciples were together. 3 Simon Cephas said, “I will go and catch fish”. They replied, “We will go with you”. So they went, and embarked on a boat; and that night, they caught nothing. 4 When it was morning, Yeshua stood on the shore of the sea, but the Disciples didnt know that it was Yeshua. 5 Yeshua asked them, “Boys* [3813], do you have anything to eat”? They replied, “No”. 6 He told them, “Toss your net on the right side of the boat, and you’ll find fish”. So they tossed them and they could not pull the net up, because of the great number of fish it contained. 7 The Disciple whom Yeshua loved, said to Cephas, “This is our Master”! Simon, when he heard that it was the Master, took his robe, and wrapped it around his waste, (for he had been *nearly naked* [1131]), and threw himself into the sea, to go to Yeshua. 8 But the other Disciples came in the boat, (for they were not very far from the land, only about two hundred cubits,) and they dragged the net with the fish. 9 When they came on the land, they saw burning coals spread out, and fish laid on them, and bread. 10 Yeshua told them, “Bring some of the fish that you just caught”. 11 Simon Cephas embarked, and drew the net to land, full of huge fish, one hundred and fifty three. With all this weight, the net was not torn. 12 Yeshua told them, “Come and eat”. Not one of the Disciples dared to ask Him who He was; for they knew that it was their Master. 13 Yeshua came and took bread and fish, and gave it to His Disciples. 14 This was the third time that Yeshua appeared to His Disciples after He had arisen from the dead. 15 When they had eaten, Yeshua asked Simon Cephas, “Simon, son of Jonas, do you love Me, more than these”? He replied, “Yes, Master, You know that I love You”. Yeshua told him, “tend My lambs for Me”. 16 He asked him a second time, “Simon, son of Jonas, Do you love Me”? He told him, “Yes, Master; You know that I love You”. Yeshua told Him, “Tend My sheep for Me”. 17 Again, Yeshua asked him a third time, “Simon, son of Jonas, Do you love Me”? And it grieved Cephas, because he had asked him a third time, “Do you love Me”; so he replied, “Master, you understand everything, and You know that I love You”. Yeshua told him, “Tend My sheep for Me. 18 Assuredly, I tell you, when you were young, you clothed yourself, and walked where it pleased you; but when you’re old, you’ll extend your hands, and another will clothe you, and will conduct you where you would rather not go”. 19 He said this to show by what death he was to honor* Yehovah. After saying these things, He told him, “Follow Me”. 20 Simon turned around and saw the Disciple Yeshua loved coming toward him; the one who leaned on Yeshua’s chest at the supper, and said, “Master, who will betray You”? 21 Cephas saw him, and said to Yeshua, “Master, what about this man”? 22 Yeshua replied, “If I want him to stay here until I return, what is that to you? Follow Me”. 23 This statement went out among the brothers, that this Disciple would not die. Yet Yeshua didnt say that he would not die; but, “If I want dont want him to die until I return, what is that to you”? 24 This is the Disciple who testified about all of these things, and has written them, and we know that His testimony is true. 25 Yeshua did so many other things that if they were all written out in detail, I suppose the world itself couldnt contain all the books that would be written.
