MARK 1-10 (with Strong’s Numbers)

The Holy *Good News* Announcement of Mark the herald

Index
Introduction

Mark 1: THE beginning of the *Good News* of Yeshua the Messiah, the Son of Yehovah. 2 As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, “Look, I will send My heralds* before You, who will prepare Your way. 3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way of the Master; level* [2090] His roads’”. 4 John immersed* in the wilderness, and heralded* the immersion* of *a changed mind* for the remission of sins. 5 All the people* of Judea came out to him, and all the people of Jerusalem; and he immersed* them in the Jordan river, while they confessed their sins. 6 This John was clothed in camels’ hair, and was clothed with a leather belt about his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. 7 He hearlded*, “Look, after me One will come more powerful than I, of whom I am not worthy to stoop and untie the strings of His shoes”. 8 I have immersed* you with water; but He will immerse* you with the Holy Spirit. 9 During this time Yeshua came from Nazareth in Galilee, and was immersed* in the Jordan by John. 10 Immediately on His coming out of the water, He saw the heavens parting, and the Spirit descending like a dove on Him. 11 Then a voice came from the heavens, and said “You are My beloved Son, in whom I delight”. 12 Immediately the Spirit carried Him into the wilderness. 13 He was there in the wilderness forty days, having His *character tested* [3985] by Satan. He was with the wild beasts; and holy Messengers* served* Him. 14 After John was *taken into custody*, Yeshua came into Galilee, and proclaimed the *Good News* of the Kingdom of Yehovah. 15 He said, “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of Yehovah is near. *Amend your ways*, and believe the *Good News*. 16 As He walked near the sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea, because they were fishermen. 17 Yeshua told them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. 18 Immediately they left their nets, and followed Him. 19 As He went a little further, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were also in a boat mending their nets. 20 He called them, and immediately they left Zebedee their father in the boat, with the hired hands, and followed Him. 21 When they entered Capernaum, He immediately taught on the Sabbath in their synagogues. 22 They were astonished at His teaching; for He taught them, as someone having authority, and not as their Torah* professors. 23 In their synagogue was a man who had an unclean spirit, and he cried out, 24 and said, “What have we to do with you Yeshua of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? We know who You are, the Holy One of Yehovah”. 25 Yeshua admonished him, and said, “Muzzle* [5392] it and come out of him”. 26 The unclean spirits threw him down, and cried with a loud voice, and came out of him. 27 They were all amazed, and inquired among themselves, and said, “What is this? What new teaching is this? For with authority He commands the unclean spirits, and they obey Him". 28 Immediately His fame spread into all the land of Galilee. 29 He left the synagogue, and entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John. 30 Simon’s mother-in-law was lying sick with a fever, and they told him about her. 31 He came, took her hand, raised her up; and immediately the fever left her, then she began to serve them. 32 That evening at sunset, they brought to Him everyone who was diseased, and demon possessed. 33 Everyone in city gathered at the door. 34 He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; but He didnt allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him. 35 In the morning, He rose very early before the others, and went to a solitary place where He prayed. 36 Simon and his associates were looking for Him. 37 When they found Him, they told him, “Everyone is looking for You”. 38 He told them, “Go into the nearby villages and towns; for I will also herald* [2784] there. It was for this reason that I came. 39 He heralded* in all their synagogues, in all Galilee, and cast out demons. 40 A leperous man came to Him, and fell at His feet, and begging asked Him, “If you will, you can make me clean”. 41 Yeshua had compassion on him, and stretched out His hand, and touched him, and said, “I am willing, be clean”. 42 Immediately, his leprosy left him, and he became clean. 43 He warned him, as He sent him away, 44 by saying, “Be sure not to tell anyone, but go and show yourself to the priests* [1], and present an offering for of your purification, as Moses instructed, as a testimony to them. 45 He, as he went out and began to proclaim it openly, and to divulge the matter, so that Yeshua couldnt openly go into the city, but was outside*, in desert places; and they came to Him from every quarter.

Mark 2: Yeshua entered into Capernaum again after some time. When they heard that He was in the house, 2 many gathered together, so that the house couldnt hold them all, not even before the door. So He spoke with them. 3 They came to Him and brought a paralytic [3885, paralutikos] to Him, carried by four people. 4 Since they couldnt come near Him, because of the crowd, they climbed onto the roof, and removed the roofing of the place where Yeshua was, and let the cot down with the paralytic. 5 When Yeshua saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins have been *acquitted and sent away* [863]”. 6 There were some Torah* professors and Pharisees there, who sat and thought to themselves, 7 “Who is this speaking, blasphemy? Who can acquit* [863] sins, except Yehovah only”? 8 Yeshua perceived in His spirit what they had thought to themselves; and He asked them, “Why do you reason to yourselves as you do? 9 Which is the easier to say to a paralytic, ‘Your sins are *acquitted and sent away*’, or to say, ‘Arise, take up your cot, and walk”? 10 But so that you will know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, He said to the paralytic, 11 ‘You should arise, take your cot, and go to your house’”. 12 He immediately arose, took up his cot, and left before them all. They were all amazed and praised Yehovah, and said, “We never saw the like”. 13 Again He went to the sea; and the crowd came to Him, and He taught them. 14 As he traveled along He saw Levi, the son of Alpheus, sitting at the tax office. He told him, “Follow Me. He got up and followed Him. 15 Then, as He was dining in Levi’s house, many tax extractors and sinners accompanied* Yeshua and His disciples, for there were many of them, and they followed Him. 16 When the Torah* professors and Pharisees saw that He ate with tax extractors and sinners, they asked His disciples, “Why does He eat and drink with tax extractors and sinners”? 17 When Yeshua heard it, He told them, “The healthy dont need a physician, but the seriously sick, I didnt come to call the righteous, but sinners”. 18 John’s disciples and those of the Pharisees fasted; and they came and asked Him, “Why do John’s disciples and those of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples dont fast”? 19 Yeshua told them, “Can the guests at the *wedding hall* [3567] fast as long as the bridegroom is with them? No. 20 But the time will come, when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and then they will fast. 21 No one takes a patch of new cloth and sews it on old clothing, because the new patch might not adhere to the old, and the rip would become even greater. 22 No one puts new wine into old wineskins, because the wine might burst the sacks, and the sacks be ruined, and the wine spilled; but they put new wine into new sacks. 23 As Yeshua was passing thru the grain fields on a Sabbath, His disciples walked and plucked some grain. 24 The Pharisees told him, “Look at what they are doing on the Sabbath; they are breaking the Torah*”. 25 Yeshua told them, “Havent you read what David did, when he had need and was hungry, he and those with him? 26 He entered the house of Yehovah, when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the bread of Yehovahs table that wasnt Lawful for any but priests to eat, he also gave some to those with him. 27 He told them, “The Sabbath was made for the sake of man, and not man for the sake of the Sabbath”. 28 Likewise, the Son of man is Master of the Sabbath.

Mark 3: Yeshua entered into a synagogue again. There was a man there, whose hand was withered. 2 They watched Him, hoping* that He would heal on the Sabbath, so they could accuse Him. 3 He told the man with the withered hand, “Stand up among us”. 4 He also asked them, “Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath, or to do evil, to give life to a person, or to kill”? But they were silent. 5 He looked at them with indignation, being grieved because of their callousness. He told the man, “Stretch out your hand”. He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. 6 The Pharisees went out immediately, with Herod’s partisans, and deliberated about how they could destroy Him. 7 Yeshua left with His disciples to the sea. Many people accompanied Him from Galilee, and from Judea, 8 and Jerusalem, and Idumaea, and beyond Jordan, and Tyre, and Sidon. Great crowds came to Him when they heard about everything that He had done. 9 He told His disciples to get a boat ready for Him, because of the crowd, so that they wouldnt crush Him. 10 He had healed so many that they rushed Him, in order to touch Him. 11 When those who were oppressed with unclean spirits saw Him, they fell down and cried out, “You are the Son of Yehovah”. 12 But He warned them not to make His identity known. 13 He climbed a mountain, and called those He pleased; and they came to Him. 14 He chose twelve to be with Him; those He would send out to be heralds*, 15 and who would have power to heal the sick, and cast out demons. 16 To Simon He gave the name of Cephas. 17 To James the son of Zebedee and to John, James’ brother, He gave the name of Boanerges, that is, Sons of thunder. 18 He also chose Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alpheus, Thaddeus, Simon the Zealot*, and 19 Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him. They came to the house; 20 and the crowd assembled again, so that they couldnt eat. 21 His relatives heard, and went out to seize Him; for they said, “He is out of His mind”. 22 The Torah* professors who had come down from Jerusalem, said, “Beelzebub is in Him; and by the prince of demons He expels demons”. 23 Yeshua called them, and explained to them by analogies* [3850], “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 For if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cant stand. 25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cant stand. 26 If Satan rises up against himself and is divided, he cant stand; he is finished. 27 No one can enter the house of a strong man, and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man; then he can rob his house. 28 Certainly every sin and blasphemy that people say, they will be forgiven of; 29 but there is never any forgiveness for anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit; they are subject [1777] to eternal condemnation* [2920, krisis]”. 30 Because they had said, “An unclean spirit is in Him”. 31 His mother and His brothers came, and, standing outside*, sent someone to call Him to them. 32 The crowd was sitting around Him, and they told Him, “Your mother and your brothers are outside* calling for you”. 33 He replied, “Who is My mother, and who are My brothers”? 34 He looked at those who sat by Him, and said, “Look My mother and My brothers! 35 Whoever does the will of Yehovah, is My brother, My sister, and My mother”.

Mark 4: He began to teach by the side of the sea again. Great crowds were gathered around Him; so He embarked and sat in a boat on the sea as the whole crowd stood on the seaside. 2 He taught them many things by analogies*. In His teaching, He said, 3 “Listen! A sower went out to sow. 4 As he sowed, some seed fell beside the path; and birds came and devoured it. 5 Other seed fell on rocky ground, so that it had little soil; it soon shot up because it had no depth of soil. 6 But when the sun came up, it was scorched; and because it was not rooted, it dried up. 7 Other seed fell among thorns. The thorns grew up, and choked them, and they didnt yield any fruit. 8 Other seed fell on good ground, and sprouted, and grew, and yielded fruit; some thirty, some sixty, and some a hundred times over. 9 He said, ‘Whoever has ears to hear, should listen’”. 10 When they were by themselves, those with Him, together with the twelve, asked Him about this analogy*. 11 Yeshua told them, “You are granted to understand the mysteries of the everlasting Kingdom of Yehovah; but to those outside*, everything is in analogies*; 12 so that when they see, they wont see, and when they hear, they wont understand; otherwise they would be converted, and their sins would be forgiven. [1] 13 He told them, “Dont you understand this analogy*? How then will you understand other analogies*? 14 The sower who sowed, sowed the truth*. 15 Those beside the path represent those to whom the truth* is sown; but as soon as they have heard it, Satan comes, and takes away the truth* that was sown in their minds. 16 Those sown on the rocky ground, are those who, when they hear the truth*, immediately receive it with joy. 17 Because they havent rooted themselves, they only endure temporarily; and when there is trouble or persecution because of the truth*, they are quickly *offended and fall away*. 18 Those sown among thorns, are those who hear the truth*, 19 but the cares of the world, and the deceitfulness of wealth, and persistent lust comes in and chokes the truth*, and it is without fruit. 20 Those sown on good ground are those who hear the truth*, accept it, and bear fruit, by thirties, by sixties, and by hundreds”. 21 He told them, “Is a lamp brought to be placed under a basket, or under a bed? Isnt it to be placed on a lampstand? 22 For nothing is hidden that wont be exposed, and nothing is concealed, that wont be revealed. 23 If anyone has ears to hear, they should hear. 24 He asked them, “Do you understand what you heard? With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you. More will be given to those who hear. 25 For to the one who has, more will be given; and from the one who doesnt have, even what little he has, will be taken from him”. 26 He said, “The Kingdom of Yehovah, is like a man who sowed seed on the ground, 27 he sleeps and rises, night and day, and the seed grows and shoots up, while *he is oblivious to it*. 28 For the earth is fruitful, first the sprout, later the ear, finally, there are complete heads of grain. 29 When the crop is ripe, the sickle is immediately *let loose* [649], because the harvest is ready”. 30 He said, “What could we compare the Kingdom of Yehovah to; what analogy* would illustrate it? 31 It is like a single* mustard seed which, when it is sown in the ground, is the least of all seeds sown in the earth; 32 yet when it is sown it springs up, and becomes larger than all the herbs, and produces great branches, so that birds can rest under its shadow”. 33 Yeshua spoke to the people with many such analogies* for them to consider* [191]. 34 He didnt talk to them without analogies* [3850], but to His disciples, between Himself and them, he explained everything. 35 That evening He told them, “Let’s cross over to the other side”. 36 They sent the crowds away, and they took Him away in a boat. Other boats also accompanied Him. 37 There was a great storm with violent wind; the waves kept rushing at the boat and it was being filled. 38 Yeshua was asleep on a mat in the stern [4403] of the boat. They came and awoke Him, and asked Him, “Rabbi, dont you care that we are going to die”? 39 He arose, and censured* the wind, and said to the sea, “Be silent [4623], muzzle* [5392] it”. The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 He told them, “Why were you so fearful? Why dont you have faith”? 41 Then they were frightfully* [5399, phobeo] fearful [5401, phobos]. They asked each other, “Who is this, that even the winds and the sea listen* to Him”?

[1] This article on parables or analogies* is incredibly helpful, particularly concerning this verse.

Mark 5: He came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes. 2 As He left the boat, a man encountered Him from the graveyard who had unclean spirits. 3 He lived in the graveyard; and no one could restrain him with chains. 4 Every time he had been confined with shackles and chains, he had broken the chains and burst the shackles. No one could restrain him. 5 Continually, night and day, he was in the graveyard, he cried and cut himself with stones. 6 When he saw Yeshua at a distance, he ran and worshipped Him. 7 He cried out loudly, “What have I to do with you, Yeshua, Son of the Highest [5310] Yehovah? I adjure You by Yehovah, that you dont torment me. 8 For He had told them, “Unclean spirits, come out of the man”. 9 He demanded of them, “What are you called”? They replied, “Our name is Legion, for we are many”. 10 They begged for Him not to send them out of the region. 11 There were a great number swine feeding by the mountain. 12 The demons begged Him: “Send us to those swine, so that we can enter them”. 13 He allowed them. The unclean spirits went out, and entered the swine; and the herd of about two thousand ran to a precipice, and fell into the sea, and were drowned in the waters. 14 Those who tended them, fled and told about it in the city and in the villages; and they came out to see what had happened. 15 They came to Yeshua, and saw the man in whom the demons had been, the one who had been possessed by the legion, clothed, and sober, and sitting; and they were afraid. 16 Those who had seen it explained to them what had happened to the man with the demons, and about the swine. 17 After this they asked Him to leave their region. 18 As He got on the boat, the one who had been demon possessed begged to accompany Him. 19 He didnt allow him, but told him, “Go home to your people, and tell them what Yehovah has done for you, and that He has had mercy on you”. 20 He went, and began to herald* in Decapolis about what Yeshua had done for him. They were all amazed. 21 When Yeshua traveled by boat to the other side, great crowds again gathered around Him, as he was on the seashore. 22 One of the rulers of the synagogue, whose name was Jairus, came, and, on seeing Him, fell at His feet, 23 and plead with Him; “My daughter is very sick; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will be cured, and live”. 24 Yeshua went with him; and a great crowd followed Him, crowding Him. 25 A woman there had had a hemorrhage for twelve years. 26 She had suffered much from many physicians, and had spent everything she had, yet she was no better at all, she was getting worse. 27 When she heard of Yeshua, she came behind Him in the huddled crowd, and touched His vest* [2440]. 28 Because she said, “If I just touch His vest*, I will live”. 29 Immediately the hemorrhage dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. 30 Yeshua knew at once that virtue had left Him, so He turned to the crowd, and asked, “Who touched My vest*”? 31 His disciples asked, “You see the crowd pressing on every side of You; and you ask, who touched Me”? 32 He looked around to see who had done it. 33 The woman, fearing and trembling, because she knew what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him, and told Him exactly what had happened. 34 He told her, “Daughter, your faith has saved your life, go in *peace of mind* [1515]; and with a *sound body* [5199] without disease. 35 While He was speaking, some men from the ruler of the synagogue’s house came, and said, “Your daughter is dead, why trouble the Master”? 36 But Yeshua heard the words they spoke, and told the ruler of the synagogue, “Dont fear; only believe”. 37 He didnt allow anyone to go with Him except Simon Cephas, and James, and John, James’ brother. 38 They came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and He saw that there was an uproar, and crying, and wailing. 39 He entered and asked them, “Why are you in an uproar, and crying? The girl isnt dead, but is asleep. 40 They laughed at Him. But Yeshua put them all out. He took the girl’s father, and her mother, and those who were with him, and entered into where the girl lay. 41 He took the girl’s hand, and told her, “Child, arise”. 42 Immediately the twelve years old girl got up and walked. Everyone was astonished and ecstatic* [1611, ekstasis]. 43 He emphatically admonished them not to tell anyone. He also told them to feed her.

Mark 6: Yeshua left there and came to His own city, and His disciples followed Him. 2 When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue. Many who heard Him were astonished, and said, “Where did He get these ideas? What kind of *Supreme intelligence* [4678] has been given to Him, so that such mighty works are being done by His hands! 3 Isnt this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and of Joses and of Judas and of Simon? Arent His sisters here with us? And they distrusted* Him. 4 Yeshua told them, “There is no prophet without honor, except in his own city, among his relatives, and in his own house”. 5 He couldnt do even one mighty miracle there, except that He laid His hands on a few of the sick, and healed them. 6 He was astonished at their lack of faith. He traveled around the villages and taught. 7 He called His twelve, and began to send them out, by twos; and He gave them *power and authority* [1849] over unclean spirits, to cast them out. 8 He instructed them to take nothing on their journeys, except a staff—no wallet, no bread, and no brass in their money belts; 9 but to wear sandals, but not to even take an extra coat. 10 He told them, “Into whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that place. 11 Whoever wont receive you, or hear you, when you go out of that place shake off [1621] the dust that clings* to your feet, as a testimony to them. It will certainly be more bearable* for Sodom and Gomorrah on Judgment Day than for that city”. 12 They went out and heralded that people should *amend their ways*. 13 They cast out many demons, and many of the sick were anointed with oil, and healed. 14 Herod the king heard of Yeshua, for His name had become known to him, and he declared, “John the Immerser*has risen from the dead, that is why He does mighty deeds. 15 Others said, “He is Elijah”, and others, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets”. 16 But when Herod heard of him, he said, “He is John whom I beheaded; he has risen from the dead”. 17 For Herod had sent men and seized John and had him chained* in prison, because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, whom he had taken. 18 Because John had told Herod, “It is against the Torah* for you to take your brother’s wife”. 19 Herodias herself was an enemy of his, and wanted to kill him, but wasnt able. 20 Because Herod was afraid of John, and he knew that he was a just and holy man, so he protected him, and listened to him on many topics and did those things, he gladly listened to him. 21 There was a state* celebration when Herod made a supper on his birthday, for his nobles and the governors and the leaders of Galilee. 22 Herodias’ daughter came in, and danced; and she pleased Herod and those with him. The king told the girl, “Ask me for whatever you want, and I will give it to you”. 23 He swore to her, “Whatever you ask for, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom”. 24 She went out, and told her mother, “What should I ask him for? She replied, “The head of John the Immerser”. 25 She eagerly approached the king, and said, “I want for you to immediately give me the head of John the Immerser* on a dish ”. 26 The king was greatly sorry; yet, because of the oath, and because of the guests, he wouldnt deny her. 27 The king immediately sent an executioner, and commanded him to bring the head of John. He went, and beheaded John in the prison; 28 and brought it on a dish, and gave it to the girl; and the girl gave it to her mother. 29 His disciples heard of it; and they came and took his corpse, and laid it in a tomb. 30 The heralds* gathered before Yeshua, and told Him everything that they had done, and what they had taught. 31 He told them, “Come, let’s go into a desert by ourselves, and rest a little”. For there were many coming and going, and they hadnt even had the opportunity to eat. 32 They went by boat to a desert place by themselves. 33 But many saw them, as they departed, and knew them; and from all the cities, they ran there by land before Him. 34 Yeshua disembarked and saw great crowds, and He had compassion on them, because they were like sheep having no shepherd. He began to teach them many things. 35 Late in the day, His disciples came to Him, and said, “This is a desert place, and it’s getting late. 36 Dismiss them so that they can go into the fields around us and into the villages, and buy bread for themselves; for they have nothing to eat. 37 He told them, “Give them food to eat”. They replied, “Will we go and buy bread of the value of two hundred denarii, and give them something to eat? 38 He told them, “Go, see how many loaves you have here”. When they checked, they told Him, “Five loaves and two fish”. 39 He had them make the people sit on the green* grass in groups. 40 They reclined in groups of a hundred, and of fifty. 41 He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looked towards heaven, and blessed and broke the bread, and gave it to His disciples to set before them; and they also divided the two fish among them all. 42 They all ate, and were satisfied. 43 Then they gathered twelve baskets full of the fragments and fish. 44 Those who had eaten bread were five thousand men. 45 He immediately urged His disciples to get into the boat, and go before Him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while He dismissed the crowds. 46 When He had sent them away, He went up to a mountain to pray. 47 When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and He alone on the land. 48 He saw them straining themselves in rowing; for the wind was against them. In the fourth watch of the night, Yeshua came to them walking on the waters; and He was would have passed them by. 49 They saw Him walking on the waters, and they supposed it was a phantom* [5326, phantasma], and they cried out. 50 For they all saw Him, and were afraid. Immediately He spoke with them, and said, “Take courage; *I AM*; dont be afraid”. 51 He got into the boat with them; and the wind ceased. They were all amazed beyond measure, and astonished. 52 For they didnt learn by the bread; because their minds* were calloused. 53 When they had passed to the other shore, they came to the land of Gennesaret. 54 When they went out of the boat, the men of the place immediately recognized Him. 55 They ran thru all that region, and began to bring those who were sick, carrying them on cots to where they heard He was. 56 Wherever He entered into villages or cities, the sick were laid in the streets; and they eagerly sought Him, so that they could simply touch a tassel [2899] on His vest*. Everyone who touched Him was healed.

Mark 7: Pharisees and Torah* professors gathered around Him, who had come from Jerusalem. 2 They saw some of His disciples eating bread, without washing their hands; and they were very critical of Him. 3 Because all of the Jews and the Pharisees, unless they carefully wash their hands wont eat; because they strictly followed the traditions of the elders. 4 When they come from a market place, unless they wash their food, they wont eat it. There are many other traditions that they accept and obey, like ceremonially washing cups, pots, bronze vessels, and couches. 5 The Torah* professors and Pharisees asked Him, “Why dont Your disciples follow the traditions of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands”? 6 He told them that Isaiah the prophet prophesied accurately concerning the hypocrites; as it is written, “These people honor Me with their lips, but their minds are very far from Me. 7 They *waste their effort* worshipping Me, while teaching as doctrines the rules of men. 8 For you have forsaken the Commandments of Yehovah, and respect the traditions of men, the washing of cups, and pots, and many other such things”. 9 He also told them, “All too well you reject the Commandments of Yehovah, that you may preserve* your own traditions! 10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother; and whoever *speaks evil of* his father or his mother, will surely die’. 11 But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or to his mother, “Whatever you might have otherwise gotten from me is now offered to the sacred treasury’. 12 This is how you prevent him from doing anything for his father or his mother. 13 You reject the truth of Yehovah, because of the tradition that you hand down. You do many things like these”. 14 Yeshua called to the crowd, and told them, “Everyone listen and understand. 15 There is nothing outside* of a person that by entering that can make them *Levitically unclean* [2840]. But what comes out of them, that is what makes them *Levitically unclean* [2840]. 16 Whoever has ears to hear, should listen”. 17 After Yeshua had entered the house, away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him about this analogy* [3850]. 18 He told them, “Dont you understand either? Dont you know, that nothing entering a person from outside*, makes them *Levitically unclean* [2840]? 19 For it doesnt enter into his mind, but into his belly, and is thrown into the digestive process that eliminates everything that is eaten. [1] 20 But it’s what comes out of a person that makes them *Levitically unclean* [2840]. 21 For from inside people’s minds come evil thoughts, adultery, prostitution, 22 theft, murder, avarice, malice, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, reviling, haughtiness and folly. 23 All of these evil things come from inside, and make them *Levitically unclean* [2840]. 24 From there Yeshua arose, and went to the border of Tyre and Sidon. He entered a house, and didnt want anyone to know of His presence; but He couldnt be concealed. 25 For immediately a woman, whose daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of Him; and she came, and fell before His feet, 26 (the woman was a Hellenis* [2] from Phoenicia of Syria), and eagerly looked for Him, so that He would expel the demon from her daughter. 27 Yeshua told her, “Allow the children to be satisfied first; for it is wrong to take the children’s bread and throw it to dogs”. 28 She replied, “Yes Master, and yet the puppies under the table eat the children’s crumbs”. 29 Yeshua told her, “You may go because of what you said, the demon has forsaken* your daughter”. 30 She went to her house, and found her daughter lying on a cot, and the demon withdrawn from her. 31 Yeshua departed from the border of Tyre and Sidon again, and came to the sea of Galilee, to the border of Decapolis. 32 They brought to Him a deaf and stammering man, and searched Him out to lay His hand on him. 33 He led him aside from the crowd, and put His fingers into his ears, and spit, and touched his tongue, 34 and looked towards heaven, and sighed, and told him, “Be opened”. 35 Immediately his ears were opened, and the bond of his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly. 36 He warned them not to tell anyone about it; but the more He warned them, the more they broadcasted* it. 37 In astonishment they said, “He does everything excellently; He makes the deaf to hear, and the speechless to talk”.

[1] There is a spurious addition to verse 19, not found in the Aramaic nor the Textus Receptus, nor in Rheims’ (Catholic) “New Testament”, that is inserted into the ASV, the RSV, and the NIV: “thus purifying all foods”.

Mark 8: In those days, when the crowd was large, and had nothing to eat, He called His disciples, and told them, 2 “I am moved with compassion for this crowd; for three days now they have continued with Me, and they have had nothing to eat. 3 If I send them to their homes fasting, they will faint along the way; for some of them have come from a great distance”. 4 His disciples told him, “Where can we, here in the desert, satisfy all of these with bread?” 5 He asked them, “How many loaves do you have? They told Him, “Seven”. 6 He instructed the crowd to sit on the ground; then He took the seven loaves and blessed them, and broke them, and began giving them to His disciples to give out; and they served them to the crowd. 7 There were a few fish; and those He also blessed, and ordered them passed out. 8 They ate, and were satisfied; and they took up seven baskets of the remaining fragments. 9 The men who had eaten, were about four thousand; and He sent them away. 10 Immediately He entered a boat with His disciples, and came to the region of Dalmanutha. 11 The Pharisees came out, and began to *demand answers* [4802] from Him; and, maliciously testing Him, they demanded that He show them a sign from heaven. 12 He sighed in His Spirit*, and said, “Why does this *perverse nation* seek a sign? Certainly no sign will be given to this *perverse nation*”. 13 He left them, and embarked on the boat; and they crossed to the other shore. 14 They had forgotten to take bread with them, and had but a single cake in the boat with them. 15 Warning them He said, “Watch out, and be aware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and the leaven of Herod”. 16 They reasoned among themselves, and said, “It is because we have no bread”. 17 Yeshua knew of it, and asked them, “Why do you believe that it is because you have no bread? Dont you know, nor understand? How long will your minds be calloused [4456]? 18 You have eyes, but you cant see. You have ears, but you cant hear, you have no recollection! 19 When I broke the five loaves to five thousand, how many baskets full of the fragments did you take up? They told Him, “Twelve”. 20 He replied, “And when I broke seven for four thousand, how many baskets full of the fragments did you gather up? They said, “Seven”. 21 He asked them, “Why is it that you still *cant put this together in your minds* [4920]? 22 He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and really wanted for Him to touch him. 23 He took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the village, and spit on his eyes, and laid His hands on him; and asked him what he saw. 24 He looked up, and said, “I see men like trees that walk”. 25 Again He laid His hands on his eyes, and he recovered, and saw everything plainly. 26 He sent him to his house, and told him, “Dont enter into the village, nor tell anyone in the village. 27 Yeshua and His disciples went to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. He asked His disciples along the way, “Who do people say that I am”? 28 They told Him, “You are John the Immerser*; but others say that You are Elijah; while others say that You are one of the prophets. 29 Yeshua asked them, “And who do you say that I am”? Simon replied, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God”. 30 He warned them not to repeat that about Him to anyone. 31 He began to teach them that the Son of man was about to suffer greatly, and be rejected by the elders, by the leading priests and by the Torah* professors, and be killed, and rise on the third day. 32 He spoke about this distinctly. Cephas took Him, and began to scold Him. 33 But He turned, and looked at His disciples, and scolded Simon, and said, “Get behind Me Satan; for you dont consider the things of Yehovah, but the things of humanity*”. 34 Yeshua called the crowd together with His disciples, and told them, “Whoever follows Me must deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For, whoever wants to save his life, will lose it; and whoever will lose his life because of Me, and because of My *Good News*, will preserve it. 36 For, what advantage does a person* [444, anthropos] have, if they gain the whole world, but lose their eternal life? 37 Or what will a person give in exchange for their life? 38 For, whoever is ashamed of Me, and of My teachings, in this sinful and adulterous generation—the Son of man will also be ashamed of them, when He comes in the splendor* of His Father, with His holy Messengers

Mark 9: He told them with certainty, “There are some [1] standing here, who wont experience* death, until they see the Kingdom of Yehovah coming with great power”. 2 After six days, Yeshua took Cephas and James and John, and led them to a high mountain where He underwent a metamorphosis* [3339, metamorphoo] before them. 3 His clothing shone and was very white, like snow, more than men on earth can ever whiten. 4 Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Yeshua. 5 Cephas told him, “Rabbi, it is good* for us to be here. Let’s make three booths; one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah”. 6 But he did not know what he said, for they were stricken with fear. 7 There was a cloud, and it overshadowed them. A voice came from the cloud, and said, “This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him”. 8 Suddenly, when the disciples looked up, they saw no one with them, except Yeshua. 9 As they descended the mountain, He instructed them to tell no one what they had seen, until after the Son of man was risen from the dead. 10 They kept these words in their minds; and inquired, “What does He mean by saying, ‘When He will be risen from the dead’”! 11 They asked Him, “Why do the Torah* professors say that Elijah must first come”? 12 He told them, “Elijah will certainly come first, to restore* all things; and, as it is written of the Son of man, He will suffer much, and be rejected. 13 But I tell you that Elijah has already come; and they have done to him everything that they wanted, as it was written of him”. 14 When He came to His disciples, He saw a great crowd with them, and the Torah* professors disputing with them. 15 Immediately the crowd saw Him, and were surprised; and they ran and greeted Him. 16 He asked the Torah* professors, “What were you disputing with them about”? 17 Someone in the crowd replied, “Master, I have brought to You my son, who has a spirit that wont speak. 18 Wherever it seizes him, it shakes and convulses him; and it grinds his teeth, and withers* away. I spoke to your disciples about casting him out; but they couldnt. 19 Yeshua askd them, “O incredulous nation*, how long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him to Me”. 20 They brought him to Him. When the spirit saw Him, it immediately shook him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed and foamed. 21 Yeshua asked his father, “How long has he been this way”. He replied, “From his childhood. 22 Many times it has thrown him into the fire, and into the water, to destroy him. But, if you can do anything, help me and have compassion on me”. 23 Yeshua told him, “If you *are able* [1410] to believe; everything is possible for someone who believes”. 24 Immediately the child’s father cried out, “I believe; but help the weakness of my faith”. 25 When Yeshua saw that the people were running and gathering around Him, He reprimanded the unclean spirit, and told it, “You deaf and dumb spirit, I command you to come out of him and never enter him again”. 26 The demon *croaked like a raven* [2896], and as he was convulsing* it came out. He appeared to be dead; and many said that he was dead. 27 Yeshua took him by the hand, and raised him up. 28 When Yeshua entered the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why couldnt we cast it out”? 29 He told them, “This kind comes out by nothing but fasting and prayer”. 30 Leaving there, they passed thru Galilee; and He didnt want anyone to recognize Him. 3l For He taught His disciples, “The Son of man will be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him; and when He is killed, on the third day, He will rise. 32 But they didnt understand what He said; and they were afraid to ask Him”. 33 They came to Capernaum. When they entered the house, He asked them, “What did you dispute about among yourselves on the way”? 34 They were silent; because along the way they had contended with each another about which of them should be the greatest among them. 35 Yeshua sat down, and called the twelve, and told them, “Whoever wants to be first, let him be last of all, and servant to everyone”. 36 He took a child, and set him among them, and took him in His arms and told them, 37 “Whoever receives someone in My name, like this child, receives Me; and those who receive Me, not only receive Me, but the One who sent Me. 38 John told Him, “Rabbi, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him, because he doesnt follow us”. 39 Yeshua told them, “Dont forbid him; for no one who does mighty works in My name can *soon after* speak evil of Me. 40 So whoever is not against you, is for you. 41 For anyone who gives you just a cup of water to drink, because you are the Messiah’s disciples, certainly wont lose his compensation* [3408]. 42 It would be better for anyone who causes one of these little ones who believes in Me to stumble to have a millstone hung around his neck, and be thrown in the sea. 43 If your hand offends you, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into life maimed, than to have both hands but but then depart into Gehenna; 44 where the embers* never die out, and the fire is never put out. 45 If your foot offends you, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into life lame, than have both feet, but fall into Gehenna; 46 where the embers* dont die, and the fire is not quenched. 47 If your eye offends you, pluck it out; it is better for you to enter the Kingdom of Yehovah with one eye, than to fall into Gehenna fire having both eyes; 48 where their worms doesnt die, and their fire is not quenched. 49 For everything will be scattered* [2] by the fire; and every sacrifice will be salted with salt. 50 Salt is a good thing; but if the salt deteriorates, what will you season with? Get salt; and be at peace with one another.

[1] The primary meaning of Strong’s 5100 is “a certain one”. Perhaps a reference to the herald* John who has no record of death (compare with Matthew 16:28, John 21:21-23). Yet the transformation, must be relevant.

Mark 10: He got up and went to the border of Judea, on the other side the Jordan. Great crowds followed Him there; and as usual He taught again. 2 The Pharisees came to Him, and, testing him, inquired if it were Lawful for a man to divorce his wife. 3 He asked them, “What did Moses command you”? 4 They replied, “Moses permitted us to write a bill of divorce, and send her away”. 5 Yeshua told them, “Because of your hardened minds, Moses wrote for you this precept. 6 But, from the beginning, Yehovah made them male and female. 7 So a man should leave his father and his mother, and *be glued* [4347] to his wife; 8 and the two will be one body*. They are no longer longer two, but one body*. 9 So what Yehovah has joined together, no one should separate. 10 In the house, the disciples asked Him again about this matter. 11 He told them, “Whoever divorces his wife, and takes another, commits adultery. 12 If a woman leaves her husband, and marries another, she commits adultery”. 13 They brought little children to Him, so that He could touch them. But His disciples admonished those who brought them. 14 When Yeshua saw it, He was very displeased; and He said, “Allow the little children to come to Me, dont forbid them. For the Kingdom of Yehovah is for people like them. 15 It is certain that whoever doesnt receive the Kingdom of Yehovah like a little child, wont enter at all”. 16 He took them in his arms, and laid His hands on them and blessed them. 17 As He walked along the way, someone ran and fell to his knees, and asked Him, “Good Master, what must I do, to inherit eternal life”? 18 Yeshua replied, “Why call Me good? There is no one good, but One, Yehovah. 19 You know the Commandments; dont commit adultery, dont steal, dont murder*, dont give false testimony, dont defraud; and honor your father and your mother. 20 He told Him, “Master, I have obeyed all of these from my childhood”. 21 Yeshua looked at him, and loved him, and told him, “One thing you lack. Go and sell everything that you own, and give it to the poor, so that there will be a treasure for you in heaven; then take your cross, and follow Me”. 22 He was saddened by those words, and went away sorrowful, for he had great wealth. 23 Yeshua looked at His disciples, and told them, “It is difficult for the wealthy to enter into the Kingdom of Yehovah”! 24 The disciples were astonished at the remark. Yeshua, replied again, “Children, it is very difficult for those who trust in wealth, to enter into the Kingdom of Yehovah. 25 It is easier for a rope* [1] to pass thru the eye of a needle, than for the wealthy to enter the Kingdom of Yehovah. 26 They were astonished all the more, and asked among themselves, “Who can be saved*”? 27 Yeshua looked at them again, and told them, “With men, it is impossible, but with Yehovah everything is possible. 28 Cephas replied, “Look, we have left everything, and have followed You”. 29 Yeshua said, “It is certain that no one who leaves houses, or brothers or sisters, or father or mother, or wife or children, for My sake, and for the sake of My *Good News*, 30 who will not receive receive a hundred times more, here in the present time, including houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and lands—with persecution; and in the world to come, eternal life. 31 But many who are now *first in influence* [4413] will be last, and many who are now last will be first”. 32 As they were on their way, going toward Jerusalem, Yeshua went before them, and they were amazed, and walked behind Him with trembling. He took His twelve, and began to tell them what was to become of Him. 33 “Look, we are going to Jerusalem; and the Son of man will be delivered up to the leading priests and the Torah* professors; and they will condemn Him to die, and will deliver Him over to the heathen* [1484, ethnos]. 34 They will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit in His face, and kill Him; but on the third day He will arise”. 35 James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, and asked, “Master, we want You to do for us whatever we ask”. 36 He asked them, “What do you want Me to do for you”? 37 They told Him, “Allow one of us can sit on Your right side, and the other on Your left side, in Your splendor”. 38 But He told them, “You dont know what you’re asking for. Are you able to drink from the same cup that I drink from, and be immersed* with the same immersion* that I am immersed* with”? 39 They told Him, “We are able”. So Yeshua told them, “You will indeed drink the from cup that I drink from, and you will be immersed* with the same kind of immersion* that I am immersed* with. 40 But for you to sit on My right side and on My left, is not for Me to permit, it is for those for whom it is prepared. 41 When the ten heard this, they began to complain against James and John. 42 Yeshua called them, and said, “You know that those who *suppose that they are* [1380] to rule the nations, *subdue and subjugate* [2634] them; and their *high ranking officials* *wield power* [2715] over them. 43 But it must never be like that with you; because whoever wants be great among you, must be a servant. 44 Anyone who desires to be *the most influential* [4413], must become a servant in *everything* [3956]. 45 Also the Son of man didnt come to be served, but to serve; and to give His life as a ransom for many”. 46 They came to Jericho. As Yeshua was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd; Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, a blind man, was sitting by the side of the road begging. 47 When he heard that it was Yeshua the Nazarene passing by; and he began to cry out, “Son of David, have mercy on me”. 48 Many criticized him, telling him to be quiet. But he cried out all the more, and said, “Son of David, have mercy on me“. 49 Yeshua stood, and directed him to be called. They called the blind man, and told him, “Take courage; arise, He calls for you”. 50 The blind man threw off his coat and got up, and went to Yeshua. 51 Yeshua told him, “What do you want for Me do for you? The blind man told him, “Rabbi, I want to see”. 52 Yeshua told him, “Go; your faith has *made you whole* [4982]. Immediately his sight was restored; and he followed Him.
