Zechariah 2:12 And the LORD will take possession of Judah as His inheritance in the Holy Land, and will AGAIN choose Jerusalem.

God swore in a covenant with David that—no mater what—this Kingdom would always exist and that there would never be a time when at least one of his descendants was not occupying David’s Throne. But God did not promise that things would go well for the subjects of the Kingdom if they sinned—in fact God said that He would even remove the people from His Land, the “Holy Land” if they failed to keep His Sabbaths. A Second Exodus will occur in this generation-back to “My land”. Godly “judgment” and “justice” is soon to be restored to this Kingdom. Zechariah 2:10-11 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst, says the LORD. 11 MANY NATIONS shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.

Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Jeremiah 33:14-21 Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel AND to the house of Judah: 15 In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David a Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. 16 In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell safely. And this is the name by which she will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. 17 For thus says the LORD: David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel nor shall the priests, the Levites, lack a man to offer burnt offerings before Me, to kindle grain offerings, and to sacrifice continually.19 And the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying, 20 Thus says the LORD: If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that there will not be day and night in their season, 21 then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levites, the priests, My ministers.

Psalm 89:20-37 I have found My servant David; with My holy oil I have anointed him.... 27 Also I will make him My firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth. 28 My mercy I will keep for him forever, and My covenant shall stand firm with him. 29 His seed also I will make to endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven. 30 If his sons forsake My law and do not walk in My judgments, 31 if they break My statutes and do not keep My commandments, 32 then I will punish their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. 33 Nevertheless My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him, nor allow my faithfulness to fail. 34 My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. 35 Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David: 36 His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me; 37 it shall be established forever like the moon, even like the faithful witness in the sky. Actually, the Everlasting Kingdom is the fulfillment of an amazing promise (Covenant) that God made to Abraham. The promises that God made to Abraham and his descendants-what has been dubbed the “Abrahamic covenant” was really just the first contact between God and the progenitor of His chosen race of people. (This race was chosen for a mission-not due to righteousness.)

Genesis 17:1-8 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, ‘I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. 2 And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly. 3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: 4 As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. 5 No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. 6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. 7 And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. 8 Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

The ultimate fulfillment of the promises (plural) is that Abraham and his more worthy “descendants” will be resurrected into the everlasting city of New Jerusalem:

Hebrews 11:8-13 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; 10 for he waited for the city [New Jerusalem] which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude-innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore. 13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

Still the journey to the Everlasting Kingdom was begun when Abraham first began to obey God. That is when your journey to eternal life begins as well-when you begin to unconditionally obey God.

Jeremiah 2:7 I brought you into a bountiful country, to eat its fruit and its goodness. But when you entered, you defiled My land and made My heritage an abomination. 8 The priests did not say, ‘Where is the LORD?’ And those who handle the law did not know Me; the rulers also transgressed against Me; the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. 9 Therefore I will yet bring charges against you, says the LORD, and against your children’s children I will bring charges. 10 For pass beyond the coasts of Cyprus and see, send to Kedar and consider diligently, and see if there has been such a thing. 11 Has a nation changed its gods, which are not gods? But My people have changed their Glory for what does not profit. 12 Be astonished, O heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid; be very desolate, says the LORD.

Jeremiah 3:14 Return, O backsliding children, says the LORD; for I am married to you. I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion. 15 And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. 16 Then it shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land in those days, says the LORD, that they will say no more: The ark of the covenant of the LORD. It shall not come to mind, nor shall they remember it, nor shall they visit it, nor shall it be made anymore. 17 At that time Jerusalem shall be called The THRONE of the LORD, [Capitol of the world] and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem. No more shall they follow the dictates of their evil hearts. 18 In those days the house of Judah [the Jews] shall walk with the house of Israel, [the “lost” 10 tribes of Israel] and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given as an inheritance to your fathers.

Jeremiah 17:24 And it shall be, if you heed Me carefully, says the LORD, to bring no burden through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but hallow the Sabbath day, to do no work in it, 25 then shall enter the gates of this city kings [of multiple Israelite nations] and princes sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, accompanied by the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city shall remain forever. 26 And they shall come from the cities of Judah and from the places around Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin and from the lowland, from the mountains and from the South, bringing burnt offerings and sacrifices, grain offerings and incense, bringing sacrifices of praise to the house of the LORD. 27 But if you will not heed Me to hallow the Sabbath day, such as not carrying a burden when entering the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

Is There A Crown In Your Future?

There very well may be. But another crown is prophesied to be worn by an end time Disciple/priest of God. This occurs as the apostle John is to “measure the temple of God”. It is important to discern what this phrase means because you will likely see this happen and will need to respond. The following scriptures make plain a specific prophecy from the book of Revelation. The rebuilding of the temple in Joshua’s day is a parallel portrayal to what will happen in the latter day building of yet another temple by a latter day “Joshua”—one of the Two Witnesses of Revelation 11. Both Zechariah chapters 3 and 4 prove the connection. Especially notice the reference to the “two olive trees” and the “lamp stands” of both Zechariah and Revelation.

Revelation 11:1-6 A reed like a rod was given to me. Someone said, “Rise, and measure God’s temple, and the altar, and those who worship in it. 2 Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and dont measure it, for it has been given to the nations. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months. 3 I will give power to My Two Witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands, standing before the Lord of the earth. 5 If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way. 6 These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. They have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire. WEB

Here are the only texts in the Bible that explains what the Apostle John was referring to—for anyone who cares to make the connection.

Zechariah 4:11-14 Then I asked him, “What are these two olive trees on the right side of the lampstand and on the left side of it?” 12 I asked him the second time, “What are these two olive branches, which are beside the two golden spouts, that pour the golden oil out of themselves?” 13 He answered me, “Dont you know what these are?” I said, “No, my lord.”14 Then he said, “These are the two anointed ones who stand by the Lord of the whole earth.” WEB

Zechariah 6:10-14 Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah; [better known as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego] and come the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, where they have come from Babylon. 11 Yes, take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest; 12 and speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says [Yehovah’] of Armies, “Behold, the man whose name is the BRANCH: [The Branch of Zechariah chapters 3 and 6 {improperly rendered here in all caps} is not the “BRANCH” of Jeremiah chapters 23 and 33—this branch is a High Priest] and he shall grow up out of his place; and he shall build the temple of [Yehovah]; 13 even he shall build the temple of [Yehovah]; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule on his throne; and he shall be a priest on his throne; and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. 14 The crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of [Yehovah]. There is a fulfilled prophecy in the Bible that few people know of. The Northern Kingdom of Israel—the “Lost 10 Tribes”—not the Jews—lost the “first” Battle of Armageddon and went into captivity. Jezreel is essentially the same place as Armageddon!

Hosea 1:4-5 [Yehovah] said to him, “Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease. 5 It will happen in that day that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of JEZREEL. WEB

But just as Jesus (actually Yeshua, off site) ascended from the Mount of Olives and will return to the same place, so too the Lost 10 Tribes will regain their independence beginning where they lost it—in Armageddon! They will choose one leader and retake the land!

Hosea 1:10-11 Yet the number of the children of Israel will be as the sand of the sea, which cant be measured nor numbered; and it will come to pass that, IN THE PLACE where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’ 11 The children of Judah and the children of Israel will be gathered together, and they WILL APPOINT THEMSELVES ONE HEAD, and will go up from the land; for GREAT WILL BE THE DAY OF JEZREEL! When all of Israel retakes the land—all the way from the Nile river to the River Euphrates (Genesis 15:18)—it will be due to miraculous intervention. As they say: Dont try this at home. These invincible soldiers will all be at least as powerful as David was when he killed Goliath and some will be as powerful as “Angel of the Lord”. And yes, all of the tribes will know Yeshua “whom they have pierced”.

Zechariah 12:8-10 In that day [Yehovah] will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem. He who is feeble among them at that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of [Yehovah] before them. 9 It will happen in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10 I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they will look to Me WHOM THEY HAVE PIERCED [Revelation 1:7]; and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and will grieve bitterly for Him, as one grieves for his firstborn. Watch for these events. Better yet, participate!

Now back to your crown:

Ironically, we tend to think of God wearing a crown but the scriptures concentrate on God’s people wearing the crowns! Strive to get one!

Isaiah 62:1-3 For Zion’s sake will I not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness go forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns. 2 The nations shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory, and you shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of [Yehovah] shall name. 3 You shall also be a CROWN of beauty in the hand of [Yehovah], and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. 1 Corinthians 9:25 Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible CROWN, but we an incorruptible. WEB

2 Timothy 4:8 From now on, there is stored up for me the CROWN of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved His appearing. WEB

Revelation 3:11-12 I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your CROWN. 12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will go out from there no more. I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My own new name. WEB

“The Scepter Shall Not Depart From Judah....”

Do You Know Where it is?

The scepter was originally a staff, such as a shepherd carried for support in walking over rough terrain and also used for defensive purposes when his flock was endangered. Webster’s dictionary defines it as: “A rod or wand, bourn in the hand as an emblem of regal or imperial power or authority: sovereignty: supremacy”. Tradition has made the scepter quite ornate. Biblically, the words scepter, rod, staff are synonymous:

Isaiah 14:5 How the strong staff is broken, the beautiful rod!

Jeremiah 48:17 The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers....

Scepters were originally made of wood:

Ezekiel 28:9-10 Son of man, prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the LORD!’ Say: ‘A sword, a sword is sharpened and also polished! Sharpened to make a dreadful slaughter, polished to flash like lightning! Should we then make mirth? It despises the scepter of My Son, as it does all wood.

Another example of a wooden “scepter” is Aaron’s rod that blossomed:

Numbers 17:8 Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds.

An excellent example of “sceptering” is the use of “the rod of God”.

Exodus 4:20 Then Moses took his wife and his sons and set them on a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt. And Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

It is with this rod, or scepter, that Moses and Aaron commanded the plagues of Egypt to occur.

Exodus 7:17 Thus says the LORD: By this you shall know that I am the LORD. Behold, I will strike the waters which are in the river with the rod that is in my hand, and they shall be turned to blood.

The rest of the plagues are recorded in Exodus chapters 7-10. So much for the definition, now for the shock and awe!

“The scepter shall not depart from Judah”

This is a concept with a long and fantastic history. The British Royal family can trace their dynasty all the way back to King David of Judah, as can every American President! The following quotations catalog the unusual story, but apparently without any clue as to the “why” of it.

March 26, 2008 Update on the Presidential Election:

I’m not going to wait on Burke’s Peerage to pick a candidate for this years Presidential election any longer, based on a particular candidates genealogical descent (or lack of it) from King David. I’m going to allow this quote to suffice for this election, as well as the link to a relevant article that shows yet another strange coincidence”. The 2004 and 2000 election cycle quotations help put things in perspective. It appears that Obama will join a long line of American Presidents with the royal genes of King David. Of course David’s own sons were nothing to brag about.

Bush, Gerald Ford, Lyndon Johnson, Harry S. Truman and James Madison. September 8th, 2004 Update on the Presidential Election:

Here is a very quick illustrative quote attributed to Burke’s Peerage, the respected genealogical society.

SENATOR JOHN KERRY’S ROYAL LINEAGE Burke’s Peerage has now completed much of the research on Senator John Kerry. This research proves that he is definitely more royal by blood than any former American President, including General Washington (related to 12 of the 25 British Dukes and the late Queen Mother) and both Presidents Bush (related to Queen Elizabeth II, 20 of the 25 Dukes and numerous European Princes). Senator Kerry is related to all the royal houses of Europe.

Senator Kerry’s royal descent even includes the Albanian royal house. These relationships are direct through the Senator’s mother, Rosemary Forbes. Her father was descended from William Forbes, Laird of Newe. The Baronets of Newe are extant. It is via this family that the Democratic candidate is descended from Henry II, King of England and father of Richard the Lionheart who was leader of the third Crusade in 1189.

Senator Kerry is also closely related to the Winthrop family of Boston, Mass. His maternal grandmother was Margaret Tyndal Winthrop, who was the wife of James Grant Forbes and the granddaughter of Robert Winthrop, Speaker of the House of Representatives, from 1847 to 1849. The Senator’s ancestor, John Winthrop, was the first Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony in the 17th Century. It is this connection that gives Sen. Kerry a descent many times over from Henry III, King of England.

Senator Kerry’s father’s family was originally Jewish by religion and Burke’s Peerage is hoping to document this inheritance. Roger Powell, the leading British genealogist, is on record as saying, “Senator Kerry’s Jewish roots appear to have become almost extinguished in favour of his WASP ancestry.” We know that the Senator’s grandfather gave up the Jewish religion in favour of Roman Catholicism about a hundred years ago. The name was originally Kohn and the family came from what was then Czechoslovakia.

Sen. Kerry is also descended on his mother’s side from Henry I, King of France, and his wife, Anne of Kiev. He is a direct descendant of a daughter of King Harold, the last Anglo-Saxon King of England. As a collateral descendant of Constantine Monamacaqs IX, Emperor of Byzantium, Sen. Kerry is related to all the monarchs of the royal house of France, including a double relationship with Francis I, Louis XIV, Louis XV, sadly with Louis XVI (guillotined) and also Louis XIX, Charles X and the present day Louis XX of France.

The above blood line gives Sen. Kerry kinship with the royal houses of Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the princely House of Rus founded in 862 A.D. Amongst his kinsmen can be counted Ivan IV, “The Terrible”, Tsar of all the Russia’s. His descent from the princely House of Rus gives him modern relations, living today, amongst the princely Russian families of Dolgorouky and Obolensky.

“History bears out that the scepter has not departed from Judah. Prophecy bears out that the people who survive the Day of the Lord will be obedient to their King.

Genesis 49:10-11 The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh [I believe this to be Yeshua] comes; and to Him shall be the obedience of the people. 11 Binding his donkey to the vine, and his donkey’s colt to the choice vine, He washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes.

Numbers 24:17 I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; a Star shall come out of Jacob; a Scepter shall rise out of Israel, and batter the brow of Moab, and destroy all the sons of tumult.

Hebrews 1:8 But to the Son He says: Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.

One of the more intriguing references to the “rod” is the one that introduces the Two Witnesses to the world.

Revelation 11:1 A reed like a rod was given to me [John]. In the NKJV the word “measuring” is inserted into the text (unlike the KJV). However the Greek word “rhabdos” is identical to the Hebrew word for rod, or scepter, or branch that Moses and Aaron used in ancient Egypt when they commanded the great plagues to commence, so this measuring the temple reference may have something to do with governing it.

John’s “rod” means: “rod, staff, royal scepter or even branch” according to the

John’s prophecy about measuring the coming temple is tied to Ezekiel’s:

Ezekiel 43:10-11 Son of man, describe the temple to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern. 11 And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the design of the temple and its arrangement, its exits and its entrances, its entire design and all its ordinances, all its forms and all its laws. Write it down in their sight, so that they may keep its whole design and all its ordinances, and perform them. NKJV

Quite interestingly, the Two Witnesses, in the immediate context of the measuring, will perform miraculous signs similar to those that preceded the First Exodus.

Revelation 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.

There is a tie in to the First Exodus and a reed staff in Ezekiel:

Ezekiel 29:6 Then all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the LORD, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel. [Compare Isaiah 36:6]

The supreme example of the use of the “rod” is the scepter of iron. The word “rod” implies a billy club. Scepter would be a more suitable rendering.

Revelation 12:5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.

Revelation 19:15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

I seriously doubt that Yeshua’s scepter will resemble a piece of rebar! The connotation of iron simply implies great strength. Perhaps a bad example, but one that is to the point, is found in Daniel:

Daniel 2:41-42 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile.

The scepter is yet another symbol pertaining to the “everlasting kingdom”. The following Scriptural references provided the inspiration for the title of this book:

Psalms 145:10-13 All Your works shall praise You, O LORD, and Your saints shall bless You. 11 They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, and talk of Your power, 12 to make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of His kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

Daniel 4:3 How great are His signs, and how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation.

Daniel 7:27 Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.

In hindsight, Burke’s Peerage will probably conclude that any candidate with the Davidic royal genes of either President Bush or Senator Kerry qualifies to fulfill the following requirements:
