Appendix to: Who Is The Bride Of Christ?

In case you just surfed into this Appendix, here is a Preview of Who Is The Bride Of Christ This really should not be an issue. It should be readily apparent who she is—yet few people know! You have probably been taught that the marriage supper is between “Jesus” (actually Yeshua, off site) and His “Church” (or Assembly—off site). Could Revelation 21 simply be elaborating on the same marriage that was prophesied about by the prophets of old? Are there two marriages? Is there a connection between this jubilant time and the restoration of Israel?

Mysteries of the Everlasting Kingdom
INDEX

In case you still arent sure who the prophesied woman is—take A LOOK AT THESE prophecies having to do with “Jerusalem”, “Zion” and “her”. Unlike old English or German, the scriptures do not apply gender to myriads of inanimate objects. There are very few of the hundreds of scriptures mentioning “her” that are not in reference to things literally pertaining to actual women; making all of the references to Jerusalem and “her” all the more noteworthy. The proverbs do personify “wisdom” and “virtue” as women, as is done almost universally in prose. The sun, moon and earth are occasionally referred to as “her”, especially in reference to prophetic restoration. Other city-states and nations, almost exclusively those who have tried to destroy Israel, are personified as women—the Babylonian whore and Moab in particular. And yes, there are two references describing a ship as “her”.

Isaiah 4:4 When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and purged the blood of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning....

Isaiah 10:11 As I have done to Samaria and her idols, shall I not do also to Jerusalem and her idols?

Isaiah 37:22 ... this is the word which the LORD has spoken concerning him: the virgin, the daughter of Zion, has despised you, laughed you to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head behind your back!

Jeremiah 44:17 But we will certainly do whatever has gone out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, were well off, and saw no trouble.

Matthew 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!
